32-bit to 64-bit without the new windows installation 7

Moving from 32 bit to 64 bit Windows 7 always requires an own (custom) installation of Windows 7.

Since this is a clean install of Windows it takes you will need to backup your personal data (documents, pictures, music, etc. on a separate drive). You should also make sure that you have installation media, and product keys available to reinstall your programs.

Most, but not all Windows 7 32-bit programs will be running on Windows 7 64 bit. Check the support of publishers of program site compatibility.

32-bit and 64-bit drivers are not interchangeable. You should make sure that your hardware has drivers 64-bit available.

  • "Stop 0x000000A5 the BIOS of the system is not fully ACPI-compatible every time as the installation of a new windows 7 integral over Inspiron 15R N5110.

    Hello

I have installed Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on many brands of laptops, but when I installed it on Inspiron 15R N5110, (core i5 and 4GBRAM). I faced an error at startup of windows 7 after completing the installation.
NOTE: When the installation finished and restarted my computer, this window shown to me.

Two options from the two options above I chose, I found myself with the blue screen:

Error blue screen said something these ' BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI-compatible. Contact your system provider for an updated BIOS I don't know what that means and I don't know where is the culprit. I wish I could capture this error screen. However, it is impossible to do because I wasn't the Windows environment.

Even if the error related to BIOS necessary for the update, so how could I update as long as windows has not begun.

Is there something that needs to be configured in the BIOS before installing Windows 7 on Dell laptops.
I'm quite surprised that the previous system was windows 7, but it was Home Premium.

The strangest thing is when I tried to start to repair the disk and even disk instillation of Windows to resolve startup problems, I found that this startup repair couldn't fix problems.

When I tried to do these steps:

    1. Insert your Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer from the CD.

Note Some computers may require you change basic input/output system (BIOS) settings before you can start the computer from a CD-ROM. For more information about changing the BIOS, see your computer documentation.
    2. When the "Welcome" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
    3. If your computer is configured to dual-boot or multiple boot, select the appropriate installation of Windows XP.
    4. When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password and press ENTER.
Note By default, the administrator password is blank in Windows XP Home Edition.
    5. By default, Hiberfil.sys is usually located in the directory root (C:\). At the command prompt, type del hiberfil.sys and then press ENTER.
    6. Restart the computer.
When I arrived at "system recovery options, I saw that my system is listed, then I chose then, but I found myself with this ' this"system recovery options"version is not compatible with the version of windows that you are trying to fix." Try to use a different compatible with this version of windows recovery disk, even if I'm sure only that the same disk to install windows I have installed since.

NOTE: I do not add RAM or other devices. There is a windows 7 Home premium and I just re installed a windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. I don't really know what the previous windows version 7 is 32 or 64 bit.

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Thank you very much

I checked this thread, and I found this solves the problem

I have changed the serial port in the BIOS for 2F8/IRQ3 and I have not had a blue screen since... fingers crossed, it's her!

But as you know that no matter what BIOS are different from others.

Thus, I have not found any serial port in the BIOS to be replaced by 2F8/IRQ3

NOTE: My problem is when you install a new version of Windows.

In addition, every time a new windows installation 7 and facing the Blue error screen, I started to Macrium Rescue CD and clicked "fix windows startup", and then when restart my windows, I was not facing the the Blue error screen. If windows starts successfully.

If the blue screen error was tied to the BIOS, the Refelct Macrium rescue CD wouldn't no matter what (not know this problem)

  • Windows Installer has stopped working on Vista Ultimate 64 - bit SP2

    Hello

My Windows Installer has stopped working all of a sudden (probably common last week).  I get no error message at all.  It simply doesn't get it.  The programs can be installed and uninstalled by there own systems updated, but the changes are not reflected in "programs and features".  When I ask Windows Installer to run under programs and features, I get the usual verification pop-ups, but once I click on the last approval, nothing happens.

I tried to install a new Windows Installer from the Microsoft Download site and each time, the program "check updates" and I get an error message that says "this update does not apply to your version," (to paraphrase).  I tried to install Windows 6.0, v-2, x 64, but when it does not work I tried all (LOL) with the same result.

At first I thought that my computer can was struck by a malicious code, so I ran MSE, remove malicious software (FULL) Windows for January and Advanced System Care 3.  All scans is come-up 100% clean!

I tried to restore my computer to a point 3 days does not.  As Murphy's law would have, I disabled the restore before January 12 points.

Windows Update online might work.  I get notifications for optional updates for MSE and AFAIK, they are applied.

Edit: One more important thing, the uninstall on Advanced System Care 3 feature does more either.  It's almost like the hooks to the installer of Windows have been removed to that also.

Installation service seems to be very well and the value 'manual '.

Any thoughts on the subject?  I can reload Windows from "day 1", but would rather not.  Laughing out loud.  I have my drive so.  :-)

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Help!

    Hi Derek,.

Please report the problem to Microsoft Community.

According to the description, it looks like you get the error when installing a new installer as ' not enough memory to process the order'.

I have a couple of steps that should help you with this problem.

    Method 1:

    Try these steps and check:

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following windows Help article.

    Back up the registry
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

    a. Click Start > run > type regedit and press enter
    b. find the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanServer\Parameters
    c. find IRPStackSize
    (d) If this value is not right click on key settings and click on new > Dword value and type IRPStackSize under the name.
    e. right click on IRPStackSize and click change
    f. Select decimal , enter a value greater than 15(maximum is 50 decimal), then click on OK.
    g. close the registry editor and restart your computer.

    Method 2:

Try the steps mentioned in this link and check.

Not enough memory is available to process this command.

    User action:

Do one of the following, and then retry the command:

    a. reduce the number of running programs.

    b. remove unwanted files from the disk, the pagefile is on and restart the system.

    c. check the disk paging file for an IO error.

    d. install more memory in the computer.

    Visit the site and check:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc978735.aspx

    Method 3:

I suggest you to clear temporary folders and check if it helps, here are the steps:

    a. click Start, type folder in the search box and press enter.

    b. press the CTRL + A, that will select all the content and Remove it.

Once you disable this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, type Temp folder in the start search box and press ENTER.

    b. press the CTRL + A, that will select all the content and Remove it.

I hope this helps. If you have questions more related to Windows, feel free to post here at Microsoft Community.

  • Each installation of the PATCH fails after installing Windows updates

    Hello

I would like to report a problem, I think it's a bug of Windows introduced by one of the Windows updates (unfortunately I could not know who of them).

    Here's the test scenario:
    1. install a fresh copy of Windows on a test computer
    2. install all the Windows updates available (so the system is up-to-date)
    3. create a sample MSI installer that installs only some dummy files (let's say Product Version 1.0.0) and host on a web server

    4. install the MSI from the online location using a command line like this:

    msiexec /i http://server/share/package.msi

    5. create a. Patch MSP (e.g. v1.0.1) which only adds a new file to v1.0.0
    6 install the patch v1.0.1

RESULT: the installation of the patch fails with the following error message: "the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect."

    NOTES:
    1. the question has replicated to Windows 7 and 8 machines updated
    2. the question is not replicated on a new install of Windows without updates applied

Is anyone aware of what may cause this error? Once again the patch installation fails only on Windows computers with the latest updates installed.

    THX,

    Daniel

  • The installation failed because the Windows Installer is underway

I try to install Gmail voice and video chat on my HPTouchsmart and get this error "failed to install because Windows Setup is in progress. Please wait for installers to complete, close all Windows Installer... "But I do not want to install anything else.  Anyone know how to fix this?  I had time to settle down before, but can't remember how I got around it (I remember it was a chore).

No, no process of Setup running, it's the annoying part.  It is apparently a known issue with Vista.  The solution below is annoying, but came from HP and the only one that I know that works:

When I click ok, the screen darkens and then reappear with the same message.

  • New Windows 10 install fails with error 0xC0000005

I'm trying to install 10 Windows on a new iMac internal end 2015 5 K 27 "screen with a Fustion disc.

I downloaded the file 10 ISO of Windows 64 bit. Then I started Bootcamp and pointed to the iso standard.

Bootcamp created the partition, BOOTCAMP and the OSXRESERVED one where installation files live I think.

He started the Windows Installer, which confirmed the U.S. ENGLISH install, partition BOOTCAMP to be formatted in NTFS and accepted the product key. As soon as he started copying the files, however, it immediately stop with error 0XC000005, which seems to be an error reading on the media.

Don't know what to do to work around the problem.

Can you post the MD5sum/SHA1 of the ISO W10? What is the size of the ISO file?

  • TurboCAD Pro 14.2 fails to install because Windows Installer problem.

    Problem installing Windows

I TurboCAD Pro 14.2 and I was forced to get a new key of Activation of IMSI, as I have lost the original.  After with the new key of Activation Windows Installer contains TurboCAD for about half an hour before I give myself the opportunity to cancel the installation program or continue with it.  Only when I opt to cancel TurboCAD works.  I tried to run Microsoft Fix - it, which tells me that there is nothing wrong with what on the system, and I tried to remove and reinstall the program does not.  Also, I spent about two weeks of work, by electronic mail, with the team of the IMSI and beyond them telling me to use a utility windows install cleanup which no longer exists, nothing materialized.  I am running Windows XP SP 3; can someone help me with this? All constructive comments will be appreciated: thank you.

For all those who have offered suggestions that I found the answer.  It seems that the whole problem is the consequence of a file named SetPdb14Pro.  I found the file among those on my Add/Remove panel.  Once I removed it the package worked without a hitch and it did not return because I now use my original password installation discs and activation code.  Here is a month lost because I don't watch carefully before I made a leap.
