  Calling a web service with the resultFormat value e4x. When I get the result, it is in XML format. What I need is to convert it to a custom type, object of value (which is actually a class generated from WSDL). I couldn't find a way to do this. So I used a SimpleXMLDecoder to decode for a generic object. Now my problem is that all objects nested inside this generic object are of type 'ObjectProxy '. So I can't convert them my nested valuables.

  So now I finally need is one of the 2 following things:

  1. a way to convert the ObjectProxy to my custom type value object.

  Or

  2. a way to directly analyze the XML result to my type of Custom value object.

  Please let me know if I need to provide some details.

  I know the poster original for that matter will probably not get it, but it is not the intention of this post... I just spent the last 6 hours trying to find the answer to the question: How do I convert an ObjectProxy to my object?

  Well here is the answer for any other googlers who find this post (as it is on the first page of results for "objectproxy object cast")

  Let's say you have a service call which returns a generic object type.  "In the SOAP, you might see the xml tag resulting as.  In flex, it almost always will convert this to an ObjectProxy class.  You will find that out the object isn't exactly simple and cast to the desired type is also is no more.

  Here's how you do it, and it's actually VERY simple once you know what you need to do:

  First of all, you must convert the ObjectProxy in an object type.  To do this, you must use the namespace "object_proxy" itself.  Here's the code to do

  Import mx.utils.ObjectProxy;

  var myObjectProxy:ObjectProxy = new ObjectProxy (myStronglyTypedObject);

  var obj:Object = myObjectProxy.object_proxy::object;

  This code there will be 'myObjectProxy' and pull on the original object in a general object variable (NOTE: the reference to object is read only according to the docs.)  It is only half the battle though, as at the time, you still need to throw your object to return.  I've read in several sources that you can use a method "as MyType" to convert the object from there, but I couldn't get this to work.  Traditional molding (i.e. MyType (obj)) leads to a runtime error as well.  They can work for you if call proxy your object from an existing flex object, but will NOT work if you tire of an ObjectProxy response service.  Either way, however, the solution is just shorter to type in the case that you he shot of an intervention of service call:

  import com.adobe.serializers.utility.TypeUtility;

  obj = com.adobe.serializers.utility.TypeUtility.convertToStrongType (obj, MyType);

  (if you are unable to access this method, you should probably add the serializers.swc of the framework to your build path:)

  Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 root Directory\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flexbuilder.project_4.5.1.313231\dcradSwcs\4.5\libs\s erializers.swc

  This will convert your object to the type you want it to be.

  AND YOUR DONE.  No more looking for people to answer full and not more to convert your service calls to e4x instead.

  Now, if you want to know why it works but casting is not sticking around... If you don't like it, don't waste your time to read the rest of the present:

  Why that your other service calls can analyze data from a response xml SOAP at any predefined by the SOAP service, but casting this type proxy version does not work?

  Your service calls are generated dynamically from the SOAP data, then of course flex "just don't know" how to do... and your SOAP objects do not extend the object class... so what gives?

  If you look at the web service generated dynamically in flex code, you will see that each service call says what should be the result type.  Then the whole AbstractOperation (your client-side web service class) is given a convertResultHandler function that retrieves the data from the result and converts the type defined by the service.  You will not get very far just look at the code if it's away from the abstract.  But if you look at the code of serializers.swc update (you'll have to decompile it) will give you an idea of what it is that makes handler function.  Basically, this handler function takes and checks whether it is an ArrayCollection/table collection or an object and then differs from conversion of the object/table to separate the functions called 'convertToStrongType' and 'convertListToStrongType '.  These functions take a class in your object, convert it and return the past of conversion class.  Bingo.

  Now, you'll see that you can take this object and use the functions convertToStrongType and convertListToStrongType with the EFA serializers to run the conversions you need.  The advantage of this is that these functions are the SAME FUNCTIONS ACCURATE who manage the conversion of your objects in the webservice result, so you can pretty much bet that you will lose all the data like you would with reflection level unique and such utilities.

  As a side of the usefulness of this note.  If you have a c# return of web service which returns a type of list object, which means you can run in all kinds of different items in the same list, then you can use this in conjunction with a mark of the object function to determine the object type to perform conversions.

  I REALLY hope this helps some other people to save themselves from pulling their hair or lose whole days trying to figure the answer before moving on to some power of the wall facility that will make your code more complex!

  I find the tool knife difficult to control unless it is a straight line, but you can draw a path and with the selected path only, choose object > path > divide objects below. The image below shows a path that I draw pretty closely with the pencil tool. You can also correct and refine tracks selected by drawing the wire segments of them using the pencil tool and all in using it, holding that alt will smooth the path. To control how the pencil tool behave click twice on the tool in the tool box and it will display a window with options.

  

  However, in this case, most likely I'll do it in another way.

  First of all, copy the path and paste it at the front 5 times (for 5 children). While the path top of the stack is still selected, change the color of it with the color for the first child, and then using the pencil tool as described above, correct the path to limit it to the silhouette of the first child. The red line on the image below shows where I've drawn with the pencil tool to limit the upper path for the first child. Important during the correction of the paths with the pencil tool is to begin and end the segment based on the original path, or if you start or finish too far from the path, you will create a new path instead of correct that you selected. After correcting the path for the first child, you can select the following path and continue as it fix the paths for each child. Alternatively, instead of paste all roads at the beginning you can stick behind or in front after having corrected the path for each child. Also, except for children at the ends, he must correct the path for other children with both hands. The advantage of this method in the first (with dividing the items below) is that you can move and the path of each child space independently and the hands will look always complete.

  When you import video clips into pre 12 from organizing the audio becomes uneven (guard droping in and out).

  Clips will play finme in Movie Maker and his plays ok if played within the Organizer, so I know they are. He PC is using windows 7.

  Taken the Nikon D7100 1920 x 1080 30 p (29.97 real rate).  Film are displayed as. MOV and Document Type video/quicktime playback of other threads and works wonder if the question relates to the project settings.

  Digital SLR Edit Mode project settings;  Time Base 29.97 pictures / s; Image size 1920 x 1080; Pixel Aspect square; Calendar-view Format 30 fps drops;  Audio sample rate 48000.

• Newbie question: how to extend in unallocated disk in a VM XP?

  Hi all:

  This is a newbie question, but looking for answers only left confused me...

  I have VM Fusion (v2.0.6) running on a MAC (OS X - Snow Leopard) with an XP VM. When the XP VM has been implemented, it has been implemented with 20 GB hard drive space. I used VM Ware Virtual Machine settings to increase the disk space of 50 GB. (I left the "pre-allocate disk space' and 'divide into 2 GB files' options unchecked.) I don't have any snapshots during execution/implementation.

  However, my current XP VM flashing me alerts "low disk space" - I see only about 1 GB of free 20 GB (I don't see the 40 GB listed in 'My Computer'). When I use the Services of management of disk in XP, I see a disk 0 20 GB System Partition with 30 GB of unallocated space.

  How can I extend the current Parition (System) in the space of 30 additional GB? And do I have I done this to begin with?

  I'm looking to see if there is a software that allows you to push data from a PDF file, software special. I use the accounting software and it would save my company a lot of time if our PDF invoices could be pushed into Quickbooks or converted in order to enter into our system without having to type in it.

  The previous answer is just a little - if everyone uses the same format, etc etc, it would be fairly simple to import PDF files into other software. But alas, everyone sends a different format.

  But there are there tools that work well. But they have limits. The tools work best if you have some layouts that you want to import (IE a known provider set). So, you need a reasonable volume of each - if not then just enter the data will be more effective.

  Try looking at ChimpKey who do a good job of importing a PDF file. He does this by converting the PDF to XML, Excel, CSV etc. which will import properly in various popular software. If you have a good amount of data entry, then this approach certainly you will save time and money.

• Easier to convert into structured or start here?

  I am an experienced writer who is new to structured. I created a lot of unstructured models and have a lot of experience of creation of SGML. I have a new job in a small business where I'm the only writer, my new boss is very tenacious on my getting started with frame 9 to start the update of their manuals. They used a costly plug-in which introduced many errors of the system, so they stopped using it. The first thing I need to do so is to create a model. Also, I need to offer XML output if necessary, but not right away.

  My question is, it would be easier to do the next revision in informal, which I am familiar with could create now and then convert the model structured at a later date? Or should I bite the bullet and spend the non structured and go directly to structured? I've seen articles that say non-structured structured conversion is easier that structured from scratch - a large part of the work I've done for informal would not lost. By the way I don't receive no training structured, as I said it's a small business. So I'm on my own here, please help!

  If the company needs updates now, I would work not structured for their finish. Go to structured documents involves the transformation of those unstructured to structured. SO, what you're doing now in unstructured documents will still be there when you're ready to convert into structure. The formatting of structured documents are possible to be the same as those not structured, so that the user probably won't notice the difference.

  Structured conversion requires more than just making the conversion. You need a target structure to perform the conversion, and creating this structure takes time. OR you could use a standard structure, such as DITA or DocBook.

  I suggest that you start reading the structured Applications Developers Guide delivered with FrameMaker or can be downloaded from Adobe.com site
