Newbie question: select a region on a master page?

Hello

I need to select and delete the images of footer of a master page (actually a gap of two pages) and want to learn so if someone could tell me a command or commands I can try to understand to use it. Basically a specific MARQUEE select the bottom eighth page or so - I searched with each quarter I can think, but what I found seems to take care of something else more involved.

I wrote a sample script for you to play with:

This script will select any element with a lower edge that extends beyond the low 8th front page.

    I did some research in the forums and did not find someone asks a question that's simplistic... (Uh oh.)

    I used Adobe Reader (what is not?), but contemplating the purchase of Acrobat... IF it allows me to cut pages from existing pdf files (for example, have an existing review, we received another teacher, which is in pdf format, but it covers an entire semester of a course in the name of my husband, and he wants it cut to the individual tests 'chapter'...)

    The answer is Yes. Acrobat can delete pages, extract pages of new files and

    copy pages from one file to another.

    How can I insert a new page in the Master page 2?

    When I try to insert a page I get a new Master Page 1 page!

    Click the page in the hierarchy, and then go to the Pagination of the object Palette tab, the option - the default value is top of next Page - click the menu drop down and go to the Page and select the name of the Master Page that you want to.

  • master page problem

    I begin barely using Muse on my iMac and I saw a bunch of tutorials. A couple of things already I have followed with great interest and that they work, but one real big problem is this: I created a bunch of buttons psd with the functional States to link to a registration form and social networks. They are all on the master page (I'm only using a master page to date). On my home page, I made a series of images with text scrolling superimposed to scroll at a faster speed. Looks awesome. Problem is the buttons that are found on all the main pages because they are on the master page moved to a different location on the home page. They still work, but they are in the wrong place. I can't select them. On the master page, they are always in the right position. Any ideas please? I tried to quit and reload.

    Unless the content is included in the page footer area in master, do not change location. Make sure that there are no used html embed, if so then remove it and then check.

    If everything is fine also same issue, then please post a few screenshots of the page master and the homepage in design so listen to excerpts and links to the live site.

  • Newbie question - how to effectively check if photo is part of the selection

    My goal is to get all the 'stack heads' (photos with Position 1 in batteries) selection ('photos' below).

    In the if structure in the center of the Position in the stack control, if the Position is not 1, I would check if the photo to the stack ("photoHeadOfStack'") is part of the 'pictures '. I tried 'elseif photos.photoHeadOfStack then' and ' elseif photos [photoHeadOfStack] then ' but it doesn't work-> This elseif is never true even if 'photoHeadOfStack' part of the 'photos'.

    Any way to have this check done without checking the photos "manually"? (via e.g. a loop for)

    I'm sure that Lua offers this, but I do not know how...

  • 2 blackBerry Smartphones newbie questions: do I need it, and how I spoil my phone?

    Sorry for the newbie questions:

    My IT has already set up my phone to receive email from their Blackberry Enterprise Server.

    (1) do I still need to install the desktop software?  Given that I can transfer files via Bluetooth from my laptop and my contacts/calendar/notes are stored on the Exchange Server, is there any point?

    (2) if I do not need to install it, given that my email is already working with BES, and the Office installation configures email settings, how do I keep the new Desktop install to mess up the current configuration of e-mail?

    Of all the notes of support on the software, looks like more trouble whereas at this stage.  I really need to treat it?

    There is not much need of DTM, but it is convenient to update the OS of your BB. Sometimes there will be releases of minor bugs corrections and such to your BB - DTM will be meaningless and install them, while updating wireless could not detect them. For a major OS update, you want DTM, as it will do a backup/complete restoration of your BB, including configuration settings, and others so that you don't have to redo those. But, to your e-mail, calendar, contacts, etc. - you are right, it is useless given that your Exchange Server is actually your master with your BB being actually a backup of that (in a sense).

    In addition, USB drivers (which are part of the package DTM) are necessary in order to charge your BB via your laptop USB. You can download and install all the USB drivers if this is the only part of the DTM you want.

    When you install it, it will ask if you are in a company - say Yes and it will install properly. Installation when your PC is connected to your corporate network and your Outlook is open. Who will get the best and fastest configuration. When you install, do not let it select the functions of auto-launch... If you wish, attach your BB and manually run the DTM.

    Basically, on the whole, I vote 'YES'. You get the USB charging. You can save if you wish. You get the device OS and other updates. Most of the reported problems are people using it to synchronize via USB things - you won't do that because most of your stuff will be syncing via BES OTA. Other things, you can simply drag-and - drop (music, videos, etc.). .. .follow these instructions (use the latest 5.0 DTM):

  • Fireworks master page adapts to the he's happy and apply to only a few selected pages?

    Hi all!

    I use the PNG Fireworks format to save all the pages of the websites that I build. However, when I apply a master page in a Fireworks project, all subsequent pages have this applied master page. Sometimes it is necessary to have a page without the master page applied to it, but I can't seem to find how to do this.

    Another difficulty, I fell on that is not be able to make the master page to adjust to its content, just like regions editable in Dreamweaver model, for those who know what it is. Is it possible to do in Fireworks?

    André,

    Regarding your first question, we could think that the drop down menu panel Pages might have a command that you would release a selected page of the master, but apparently not. However, if you select the page and go to the layers panel, you can display the Master Page layer in the bottom of the stack. You can set the visibility of the layer or its components, or go to the menu drop-down in the layers panel and choose Delete Master Page layer.

    Regarding the second question, I don't think that it is possible for a page master to "adapt to its content. Per, I'm guessing that you mean to respond fluidly to the other elements on the page, whether they are long or short, etc. It is a property of the web pages, where everything is "outstanding". But Fireworks uses a different system.

    I'm still new to the feature Pages myself, but have you tried the options "Share layer" menu drop-down in the layers panel? These could offer some of the benefits of the feature of the master page, but with more flexibility. The symbols are also something to consider when you want to repeat the elements in a document.

    I just bought two s BlackBerry Curve 8530 from Sprint. I'm pretty tech savvy, but there are some things about this phone, I can just enter in two or three days I got em:

    Deleting photos: Well, then I'm in my media folder, in the images. I selects a photo and press the BlackBerry button and select Delete. Then he said: it is read-only, and when I remove it, the icon is still there. I tried to turn on/off the device, and it's still there. Thought this one myself. I plugged it up to the Desktop Manager and all of a sudden all the photos I had taken appeared. I was also able to delete using the "BlackBerry" button and then "delete". It doesn't give me that read this option.

    Saving images: So, for some reason I can't save more photos. I don't know even how I saved the first 12 photos I have taken... but now it won't save any more. What the hell happened? xD I have a 2GB card in my phone... surely these 12 images didn't fill in this card... Thought this one myself. I plugged it up to the Desktop Manager and all of a sudden all the photos I had taken appeared.

    Buy ringtones: On my old phone LG, I used to buy ringtones RealTone Jukebox... where they had extracted from songs that I could download for a crazyhigh. Where can I buy the real music ringtones for BlackBerry? What I do myself?

    Media moving to my PC?: I went through the music store of Sprint comes with my camera, and two purchased songs. I want to know if I can get these songs out of my BlackBerry smart phone and my PC. Also, if anyone knows what format they are in (if they bought before Sprint music store).

    There may be an icon on the home screen of your camera to buy ringtones. Or you can open the browser and go to http://mobile.blackberry.com. There is a link of ringtones that you can click

    If you select an icon, click the menu button and choose move. You can rearrange the icons. The icons in the top 5 on the list will be those along the boittom when not looking at the full home screen.

    Can try to hit the key ' $' as a shortcut to activate speaker. During a call, you can click the menu button and choose the speaker phone option in the menu

  • Cannot select items Master Page - but only on the last Page of my Document

    I'm working on a magazine layout, which has the page number and month located downstairs outside the corner of each page (pretty standard). Of course, I have this set up on the master spread. So far whenever I have to remove these items on a page of my document I was able to Ctrl + Shift + click and delete. But for some reason any on the last page (on the back) I can't click little matter what I try. I'm still able to select on other pages, and I have confirmed that the layers are not locked. Any ideas why this is only a specific page that gives me any questions?

    (Just to be sure, that I save my document, close and restart the program.) The problem persisted unfortunately.)

    Check that the master page element is not set to prevent substitute also. Go to the main spread and select the folio of problem, choose Pages > Master Pages... and make sure that allow point Master overrides on selection is checked. MP articles that are protected do not have the framework dotted on the pages when show the contours of the block is selected.

    And make sure that you have not inadvertently duplicated the folio on the page or master page.

  • PES 12 Clone Stamp Tool - selection Souce region

    Other than Alt + Left Click combo, are there other ways to select the region of origin of the Clone Stamp tool?

    I use PSE 12 on a window 8.1 Thinkpad Yoga with active digitizer/pen (especially in tablet mode) and it would be great if I could choose the source without the keyboard autour must region. I don't think that there is an Alt key on windows on-screen keyboard. ?

    There is no alternative key and PSE offers no keyboard customizations (although I believe you can use keyboards created in Photoshop CS5, or earlier in PSE).

    The on-screen keyboard of Windows has an Alt key exactly where it is on a physical keyboard - next to the space bar.

    I want to isolate each of the children, so I can use the live paint to color to each child a different color.

    I find the tool knife difficult to control unless it is a straight line, but you can draw a path and with the selected path only, choose object > path > divide objects below. The image below shows a path that I draw pretty closely with the pencil tool. You can also correct and refine tracks selected by drawing the wire segments of them using the pencil tool and all in using it, holding that alt will smooth the path. To control how the pencil tool behave click twice on the tool in the tool box and it will display a window with options.

    However, in this case, most likely I'll do it in another way.

    First of all, copy the path and paste it at the front 5 times (for 5 children). While the path top of the stack is still selected, change the color of it with the color for the first child, and then using the pencil tool as described above, correct the path to limit it to the silhouette of the first child. The red line on the image below shows where I've drawn with the pencil tool to limit the upper path for the first child. Important during the correction of the paths with the pencil tool is to begin and end the segment based on the original path, or if you start or finish too far from the path, you will create a new path instead of correct that you selected. After correcting the path for the first child, you can select the following path and continue as it fix the paths for each child. Alternatively, instead of paste all roads at the beginning you can stick behind or in front after having corrected the path for each child. Also, except for children at the ends, he must correct the path for other children with both hands. The advantage of this method in the first (with dividing the items below) is that you can move and the path of each child space independently and the hands will look always complete.

    I just started learning InDesign script - (about 2 days ago in fact). AppleScript and JavaScript.

    Is there something that I need to create immediately (or very little). It sounds simple enough, but I'm not sure.

    My question is this - is something that requires a simple script I could create today?

    Or is it something that will require much more research?

    Heart - if I have TO do this as soon as POSSIBLE should I use my time trying to create a script or is it better for me to do everything by hand (chore, but doable) and let the script learning for another time.

    That's what I want to accomplish-

    I have a page with a single element that is not a master page element (in my case, a block of text that contains the title of magazine)

    I want to be able to quickly see this page in many versions where the only difference is the the title font.

    Example:

    I have this page with a single point and I have a list of 20 fonts that I want to try. I want InDesign to make my document of one page in a 20-page document where all pages are identical - except for the font used for the title.

    This is the same as the use of a feeder of type when you create a font scheme. type the text and displays each font in your game. What I want is to see a preview of each font, BUT already in MY layout with all the other elements of MY page. I can quickly select which characters works best.

    I would be grateful for any advice any more experienced scripters.

    Ok, I am a fanboy of Adobe, Photoshop/Illustrator ACE but I'm a video / graphic guy My employer is about 'apps' that they average / envy = applications that run on all smartphones modern and major players in the Tablet world. I had a divorce with writing code about 4 years ago (we all have two happy summer separated from eachother) but it feels like I will be together soon.

    Looking for some quick info to get used to the speed (note that I Master Collection CS5.5):

    1. Type of code: Action Script 3 ? HTML? Or lazy build in Flash?
    2. We would start Flash or Flex SDK?
    3. Currently, they want to read on an iPad... then tomorrow a Playbook... but always on an iPhone and EVO... is it something to be considered early in the process?

    I realize, these are newbie questions VERY and it's a long way to follow, thank you for contributing to the trip!

    Hi Nick,

    I think it depends on type of content/content/deployment.

    If it's only video content to be played in standalone or web apps that look like native and support wide range of devices - then your suite already comes with Dreamweaver 5.5 - who has for example jQuery Mobile for web based application development/deployment and PhoneGab for native-app - all code development with html/javascript and two of them takes charge of video content.

    With Flash CS5.5 you get timeline based development and authoring tools - but nothing in the simplified UI that comes with the spark in Flash Builder (Flex SDK). Outputs the CS5.5 Flash and Flash Builder 4.5 using the same development tools Adobe Air (more to read on the page of software development given).

    Oh: web development with Dreamweaver and jQM does not require App Store submission process required otherwise for the content generated with Flash CS/Flash Builder or with PhoneGap in DreamWeaver.

    Although I've been using Framemaker since 1992 (Unix) and progressed to fly from unix to windows, macintosh and return to windows.  I currently use Framemaker 9 on Windows XP and I still feel like a newbie sometimes. The question was which is rampant in me for years and some I think that the answer might be accomany a Duh answer? quickly followed by a head slap

    Is it possible to include pages in true landscape mode in a single framework document?  By true landscape I do not mean a block of text rotated on a portrait page. To create a book my perceived solution (two diferent framemaker files {a landscape and a portrait]) may be confused when creating a 100 page document where 25 or more are pages in landscape mode and generally they are not consecutive. One of my latest projects required a book with 52 individual photos. (In Word (sorry for the curse on the forum), the project has a single file.)

    Look in the help file online something like "assignment of master pages to the pages of body containing paragraph tags.

    But the basics are:

    1. Create a master page to landscape.
    2. Create a single paragraph tag you will use to call the master page. Generally, this should be some position, but can be anything.
    3. Map the tag of paragraph to the master page by using the Mapping Table in the reference of the document page.

    I found, in general, it works very well for situations where you really don't have a landscape between the portrait pages page. It becomes clumsy fairly quickly if you need to put in place a series of pages in landscape mode. If you need to do this, I set up a separate document to landscape and then import it into the parent file as an insert text - make sure to preserve the landscape on the importation of setting preferences sheet shaped. Or go to the other approach, you mentioned - page groups of each type, implemented as component files in a book, set up to resemble a single chapter.

  • Select a region in the plot

    Maybe I need to select a region in a field like the attached screenshot.

    When you select it, a yellow or another frame of color may appear. It may be rectangular or circle.

    After the selection, the image may disappear. And I can get the image position settings.

    May I know how to do it, thanks.

    I just threw together so there are a few kinks to iron out, but I think it should point you in the right direction.  It uses sliders and a background image, pull on the handles (sliders) around making a selection.  If you want the frame to disappear or to select with just an image, it's a simple tweak.
