  Your article made a walkthrough basic troubleshooting, ending with the question if the print head is repairable. Because it is not on the 6700, the article isn't really the problem.
  
  Here is the solution I found to this problem:
  I discovered that eliminating all ink cartridges allows the printer at startup (although there is a message saying the missing print cartridges).
  Putting the cartridges in a binary regression revealed that the ink has been bad. (In my case, I only got the message of failure/printer ink when the yellow cartridge was in the printer).
  Replacement of the restored cartridge the printer functionality.
  That's the good news.
  Now the bad news: for HP.
  The generic error message indicates a failure with the printer or the ink system. No differentiation. With the electronics in the cartridges (that the client pays a high price for), looks that HP could not understand how to indicate a cartridge problem.   Something that you have running in the background is a failure. Autour Googling shows a person who installed XP Style and that was causing the problem. Other links show people with the problem but no solution. So if you have not installed the XP Style, you will need to do some systematic troubleshooting.

  The first Question of troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what has changed between the time things worked and the time they do not have?

  The second issue of Windows troubleshooting: what is the status of virus/malware of the machine? If you think it's clean, what programs (and versions) allows you to determine this?

Just check the box that says in effect, "don't mind to this subject again".
