My drive has been converted to a dynamic volume, and now I can't change it back.

My basic disk was converted to a simple volume when I was trying to create 5 hard drives.
The worst thing is that I had to reinstall my OS after this incident, as my MBR went in the process...
Another funny thing is that I was not able to install Windows 7 back and I got the error
"Windows cannot be installed in this hard disk space. The partition contains one or more dynamic volumes that are not supported for installation.
I will share a temporary solution to install the operating system if this also happens...
If you get the same error during the installation of windows 7...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WE MUST DO TWO THINGS.
1 recreate information about dynamic Volumes, making them act as real partitions
2. turn the active system partition so the system can find the bootloader on it and start windows from the boot partition.
For this,.
> Click on repair your computer
> Check the top box "Using recovery tools that can help fix problems..." »
> Click Next.
> Click on command prompt
> Enter "diskpart" and press return
Now in DISKPART.
> DISKPART > list disk
If the disc that you see here is with foreign status and not online then type:
DISKPART > select disk 0
DISKPART > import
If it is not all errors up to this point continue:
DISKPART > select disk 0
DISKPART > list volume
Now, make sure that you select the system volume of 100 MB by number (1 in this case)
DISKPART > select volume 1
DISKPART > keep< this="" adds="" the="" mbr="" to="" the="" volume="">
Repeat this for the boot partition (volume 0 in this case)
DISKPART > select volume 0
DISKPART > keep< this="" adds="" the="" mbr="" to="" the="" volume="">
Now, all that remains is to make the system of 100 MB partition an ACTIVE partition. To do this:
DISKPART > list partition
DISKPART > select partition 1< the="" 100mb="" system="" partition ="">
DISKPART > active
After this close all windows with the X button on the title bar (do not support, stop or reboot buttons) until you come back to the first installation page.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The above steps will allow you to install Windows in the computer and the worst, it's that you need to follow it every time that you install the operating system.
It is a problem solved for me...
Now, my problem is that I want to restore the changes that has been filed with my discs...
In short, I want to create my hard disk to disk from basic to dynamic disk...
A person with knowledge help me please...
Thank you...
Hope this is useful to someone else in my situation...

I have a new HP laptop that has Windows 7 as operating system. It has a single user. The user account inadvertently changed directors to comments. I can't the computer to allow me to go back to an administrator. Whenever I try to change whatever it is a window opens asking if I want to allow the program to make changes. The only available on the window button is a no button. It requires an administrator password, but has no place to type any password. It does not do any type of recovery or repair without this same window poping up. I tried in safe mode with the same results. How to restore the administrator account?

    Here you go:

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.

    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key.

  • Driver webcam has been removed from the Dell computer and now am unable to fix it.

    Original title: Webcam Dell problem

    Hello

I have laptop Dell Inspiron N411Z. Dell did not provide users with any webcam device drivers and windows update does not install the drivers by itself. In addition, it happened that windows update installed the driver webcam last time and webcam works for two days after that I don't know how but the driver has been removed, or I don't know exactly what happened.

If call us Dell they ask us to install Dell central webcam which has nothing to do with driver (I don't know what kind of support they have).  If there is no driver Dell webcam central does nothing.

I don't know exactly how it goes, but if windows update installs the driver which means driver exists. If anyone would be able to send me or give me a link to the Dell webcam driver?

I hope that Microsoft would be able to help me with this. I tried what you might think. I installed windows several times. There is no imaging device in Device Manager in case someone wants me re-install the drivers that I said before windows ever installed the drivers. I just need an .exe file that runs my webcam.

    Dell Inspiron N411Z

    Webcam part number: T3NPC

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jeet,

This problem is usually caused due to hardware or driver related issues. As you mentioned, I was not able to find all the drivers for the webcam. But I've seen threads in which he asks customers to install the Webcam Central software. I suggest the following methods and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

Try the procedure described in the following Microsoft Help article and check if that helps. This article consists of the steps to use a webcam.

See the following Microsoft Help article to learn more about the use of a webcam.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-webcam

    Method 2:

As tech Dell mention of the support team, try to reinstall the Webcam central software and check if the problem persists.

Step 1: To uninstall the Dell webcam central software, perform the following steps:

    a. Click Start.

    b. click Control Panel.

    c. using the drop down next to the opinion of: in the upper right, select large icons.

    d. click on programs and features.

    e. click Dell Webcam Central.

    f. click on uninstall.

    g. confirm uninstallation by clicking OK.

    h. Once uninstalled, restart the computer.

Step 2: Check out the link next to the Dell forum to reinstall the webcam drivers.

    ftp.us.dell.com/.../Dell_SX2210-Monitor_Webcam%20SW%20RC1.1_%20R230103.exe

    Method 3:

Try to update the drivers BIOS of the computer manufacturer's website and check if the webcam works.

See the following article from Microsoft Help to update a driver.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Update-driver-hardware-ISN

  • Cannot access the files from the internal hard drive that has been converted to drive external hard after the motherboard is dead

I can't access the files from an internal hard drive that has been converted to drive external hard after the motherboard is dead. I think that my files are still there, as shown in the volume of the player volume ~ 500 gb which is almost completely full. But I can't access most files, including documents and settings. When I took 'ownership' of the folder, I could open the TI but then it showed everything that was in my documents and settings on the computer file I used to open it, not the documents of the car.

Uhm... I think the issue here is a misunderstanding of what you watch.

If you want to access your files from the old hard drive - you need to look in the right place.  If the old system was "Windows 7", "Documents and Settings" is the * wrong * place to look and "Users" would be the place to go.

You * will * take ownership and change permissions on ALL (you want to propagate to all subfolders/files when do - to save time) in order to get them properly.

New-->: Windows Vista/7 would have your files located in the directory 'Users' of the root of the drive - and then under your username.

    • \USERS\\Desktop\
    • \USERS\\Downloads\
    • \USERS\\Favorites\
    • \USERS\\Documents\
    • \USERS\\Music\
    • \USERS\\Pictures\
    • \USERS\\Videos\

    ... etc...

Documents and settings to WIndows Vista/Windows 7 is a symbolic link and would lead to what you see if you tried to use it.

  • How can I know if an external drive has been used for Time Machine and what computer it came with too?

How can I know if an external drive has been used for Time Machine and what computer it came with too?

I have several laptops and iMacs. I spent the relocation of the year and only used the MacBook Pro.

Now I'm trying to figure out which drive goes with which computer

I connected just a disk seagate 1.5 t and the first thing he did was to ask if I wanted to use it as a Time Machine drive.

    (1) if it is the TM disk accompanying this computer don't would not it have just started upward automatically?

    (2) what happens if I would have said yes?

    (3) I don't even know if it's been activated for TM. Is there a way to tell? It may hold just for iMovie files and other programs associated with a computer from my past.

All readers of backup Time Machine contains a folder named: Backups.backupdb. If you open this folder, you'll find another folder with the name of the computer that has been saved. If several computers have been saved on the same disk, you will have several folders.

Well, except to lose all my files and programs that I installed, it will also include bluetooth, wi - fi and other important built in programs? I'm not a computer expert. If ever these important programs had totally disappeared, how retrieve it? my laptop in an HP authorized service center will be probably expensive and I decided to buy a new HARD drive and ask someone to put it in and install a new OS. Please help thanks

    Hello:

There is a support for your PC page where all the software drivers to run the hardware on your PC such as bluetooth and wireless can be reinstalled.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/WC/product?product=5079502 & CC = US & DLC = in & LC = on & query = LQ862PA & Tool=.

What I don't see is the availability of recovery disks to reinstall the operating system (windows 7 64-bit) or your PC programs (other than those listed in the link of support above).

This means that if you want to replace the hard drive, you must make your own W7 64-bit installation media and use the 7 product key of Microsoft windows on the bottom of your PC to activate the installation.

That assumes you can read all 25 characters of the product key windows 7.

    Here's how...

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/

The replacement hard drive should be a 320 GB SATA II 5 400 rpm Disk If you want the same specification provided with your PC hard drive.

Please refer to Chapter 4 of the service manual on the link below for the procedures for removal and replacement of the hard disk.

    Hello

Can you please tell us which version of Windows 7 you have (32-bit or 64-bit)?
Have you also installed the utility Intel chipset for laptop? You have more yellow exclamation in Device Manager?

To be honest I n not know why this happens, but you should check the Windows Event Viewer. You can see all the events and on the problem of display driver, you should find an error with more information s. check this box!
Normally the event viewer shows why this is happening in the description.

  • Re: Satellite P - CD/DVD drive has been disabled after installing itunes 8

    * Help *! After installing itunes 8 my CD/DVD/RW Drive has been disabled.

It's already happened and I've restored by removing the upper filters and lower in the Vista registry but itunes then told me "the registry settings used by the iTunes for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing." and I can't seem to burn anything from itunes.

There, nobody how to restore CD/DVD/RW drive and retain full use of itunes please?

    Have you tried reinstalling iTunes?
Reinstall the old iTunes, restart the computer and clean using CCleaner. Then, you can install the latest version of iTunes.

If it doesn't work try to remove upper and lower filters again. Maybe you should do this after you have reinstalled iTunes.

  • System Restore error: "the changes to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»

I had some problems with my computer recently I knew could be solved with the system restore.  Then I went into system restore and went to a restore point that was a few weeks back.  After I clicked on it and pressing the ok button, the following message appeared: "the changes made to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»  I let it continue and do the restore.  My computer has rebooted and came up with an error in system restore that says restore failed.  It's the same thing with other restore points.  I don't know why I get this error because I not made any changes to this hard drive except for copy of a document word on him.  I thought that the System Restore monitors removable disks.  Anyone know what is happening here and how I can get the restoration of the system to operate without the mistakes to come?

I have Norton.  Disable the Tamper Protection works.  I also noticed that since the G: drive was a portable hard drive, System Restore wanted to exercise oversight.  He wants to monitor all hard drives.  Turn on external and portable hard disks prevents tracking system restore changes to the readers.  I don't think anyone would have the system restore review external drives anyway.  It is not necessary.

  • HP Recovery Kit will re - install Vista if hard drive has been replaced?

Hello everyone, this is my first post so I hope that I understand.

I bought a HP Pavilion s3050uk of second hand compact office, product number RY930AA.

The only OS on it is a trial version of Windows 7 Ultimate, little time to expire.  I knew when I bought but I was just able to reinstall Vista Home Premium using the HP Recovery Kit and the number of product key from the COA on the PC sticker.

However, I think now that the HARD drive has been replaced at some point - my machine has a 200 GB (Seagate ST3200822AS ATA) and I think that these machines haven't shipped with a 250 GB?  Now, I'm worried that I will pass on the recovery kit but it won't reinstall Vista because the hardware has been changed.  If it is probably the case of others has experience then I may as well save my money (which is very tight at the moment, where the 2nd hand PC) and put it toward the purchase of an operating system package full.

Hope someone is able to advise me.

    Thank you

    Stephen

If you buy a defined recovery disk and perform a factory original operating system image recovery and the partition scheme will be installed on the new hard drive.

Certificate of authenticity (w\ license key) Microsoft Windows OEM is always visible on the bottom of the laptop?

  • Dell XPS 410 HARD drive has been reformatted accidentally.

HARD drive has been reformatted accidentally. I'm not interested in the stored data, I want to just go back to the factory settings.  Operating system is Vista.

    Thanks for any advice.

You will need the recovery media you do when you received the system - attach the flash drive or insert the first disk in the backup media, power and press F12.  Start since the media and follow the prompts to reload the factory software image.

If you do not prepare a media defined in advance, you will need to contact the customer service Dell to buy a game now - they are in fact not able to provide Windows Vista at this stage.
