NIC not recognized in merger 3.01

Hello

I just upgraded to 3.01. I have created a new XP machine (start with the CD of XP SP1 and then upgrade to sp3), installed the vmware tools, but the ethernet card is not recognized. When I try to reinstall the driver, it is not found.

I tried to uninstall/reinstall the drivers, but the problem is still there.

Any idea on this?

Many thanks and happy new year

Have you tried to remove the NIC and add it again?  With installed VMware tools, go to Device Manager and remove the network card, shutdown your machine.  Go into the VM > settings and delete the virtual network card with the key.  Add again with a drop down at the top left.  Turn on the virtual machine and XP has to go through the virtual network adapter Plug-and-Play detection.  Fix VMware tools if the network card is not detected.

Asked me to reinstall windows XP on a Dell Optiplex 170 L of friends and she gave me all the disks after her children have put the machine in such a State that it would not start. I can't have the network card to be recognized. In Device Manager it does not list the NICs, but it lists under other devices with a big question mark, yellow is Ethernet controller. I tried the drivers on the disk and I even downloaded some but it can't find the adapter. Can someone advise where to go from here. I don't think that she has already used the network card on the pc, she used a wireless, which also, I can't go to work.

  • VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.0 NIC not recognized

    Hi all

I intend to install VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.0 in my own office, but the network adapter may not be recognized. My network card is Realtek rtl81111C, which is integrated in the motherboard Gigabyte. I want to buy a network card, could you suggest a good market (PCI, PCIe two OK) which is supported for VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.0 for my office?

    Hello

You can search for network cards supported here: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=io

If it's just for the study, you might also install VMware Player or workstation (the player is free for commercial nun) and run the vSphere Hypervisor as a virtual machine.

Does not give you optimal performance, but to study it is enough, and you don't need hardware supported for ESXi.

  • HP EliteBook 8730w: replacement of SSD for the boot drive not recognized

I'm trying to install a Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500 GB instead of the original 500 GB HDD in my Elitebook 8730w (product no. VF889PA #ABG). The 8730w has the latest BIOS (F.20) installed and that is running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (fully patched).

When it is connected to the laptop through a USB adapter, to clone the HARD disk image. the SSDS works correctly. Cloning through data Migration Samsung is reported as a success, and the image of the C:\ drive occupies approximately 153 GB. The image of the disc does not include the partition of 1 GB dedicated to HP_TOOLS, due to a known limit of the Samsung software supplied.

When it is installed in the HARD drive Bay. the SSD is not recognized as a drive and does not appear in the list of startup options. The available boot options only shown are the DVD or a network boot.

would be very grateful for any advice on the steps required to successfully install the Samsung SSD as boot drive.

    Hmmm.
Honestly no, I'm not happy with this one. If it was my machine, I'd be a little concerned about whats the corner of the street. In view of the age, is not surprising really, things wear out over time, the mere fact of electronics.

Search through everything you have posted, all photos, pdf, all the text double checking. I am absolutely puzzled as to what happened. If you 100% does not reinstall the hard disk between the posts above where no HARD drive is detected in the menu boot options for the post below that where the HARD drive is detected in the same menu. I would say that you have a problem with either, the ssd, the computer motherboard laptop or the small connector on the sata port, I think on these is integrated on the motherboard, so it seems that your advice is doubtful.
If his works now, great... but be aware that your machine can fail at some point in the near future. And it looks like a defect of the motherboard, other things are probably waiting to fail.

There is no reason whatsoever your laptop must not have seen this ssd at first startup. A HARD drive is a HARD disk, if its compatible sata, then it will work, no doubt. When he is not on an older machine, its probably a sign of a faulty component.

Looking through your bios options, I recommend the following.

On startup options, get rid of internal nic pxe boot, that will only slow your machine at startup as it will seek for a network bootable device. This is the message that you get at startup saying Media Test Failure, this page is preventable with this option disabled.
Less built lan/wlan switching on enabled in the options of the terminal, also change. This means that if you use wifi at home for example and you decide to plug in a cable network directly to the router to speed up the connection, it will not pass if it is not defined, you will have to do it manually. I work in a large company and the number of people who have this option is unreal. They all assume when they are docked they will on the wired connection.

Because we are here too, if you ever have problems with a flickering screen, first thing to try, is disable the ambient light sensor which is just below this option of switching. Its fine on normally, but its quite common on 8560p for this causes a flickering screen.

Hope that helped. Good luck in what you decide to do with the machine

  • Installation of XP Prof on Tecra A9 PTS52E - SATA HDD is not recognized

    Hi all

I have a "nine" Tecra A9 (PTS52E) with Vista Business installed. However, I need XP Prof and a CD of XP - SP2 slipstreamed. The SATA drive is not recognized XP installation, so I need a driver of "F6."

There are a lot of howtos on this for the 945 chipset, but I couldn't solve this problem on my A9 (Mobile 965 Express Chipset). I don't want to buy a USB floppy for one-time-installation drive. So I have to build the driver (iastor.sys and more) in the XP installation disc.

A few problems: there seems to be no easy way to do this, because intel only provides files *.inf for the ICH8R (RAID =) controller, which does not exist in the A9. So I have to change the *.inf files, correct?

Another thing: I saw in an another post here the discussion on switching to AHCI in the BIOS in compatibility mode. I can't find a way to change this setting.

Aargh, I need this laptop for my work on an A8 (which is also mine), I installed XP without any problem.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

  • Tecra M5: UJ - 841 s not recognized as DVD/RW by any burning software

I've seen on other posts that it is common that the drive to be identified in Device Manager as a DVD-RAM (which is what's happening) but my DVD multi (on a Tecra M5) burner is not recognized by any DVD burning software.

Is there an update or driver that I should have?

    Thank you

    Hello

My first question: do you use the Toshiba OS since the Toshiba Recovery CD?
Have you install and use multiple applications all burning?

To my knowledge the practice he s not advised to use burning different programs together.
You must use only one. I recommend Nero. It s nice.
If the sonic is installed on the HARD drive, try to remove it and use only nero.

If the drive is not able to manage DVD media, you should check the different brands.

  • My HP 14 laptop is not recognizing the usb ports and wifi at startup.

During the last few days I been dealing with the issue that my laptop does not recognize the usb ports and wifi. After several reboots, it works fine. My drivers are up to date, so I don't know why, I'll have this terrible problem.

    Welcome @hildergarn,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site to find answers and ask questions. I understand that you have a problem with your Wi - Fi and USB ports on your laptop from HP.

My first suggestion would be to use the wireless network troubleshooting and Internet tool. At the bottom it will ask you questions to help you diagnose the problem.

Please take a look at this great Charter called troubleshooting wireless network and Internet. This document will help you to solve the problem of Wi - Fi.

Have you tried to restore the BIOS?

Have you tried to connect directly to the Modem/Router?

You have uninstalled the driver in Device Manager?

Please try to uninstall the driver in Device Manager by using the following steps:

    • Go to the Device Manager.
    • Expand network adapters.
    • Right-click on all NICs individually.
    • Click on uninstall.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

How many devices you try to connect?

What you are trying to connect via USB?

Are - what you happened to try to use the HP Support Assistant?

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you not him have not yet tried. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updated.

Here are other troubleshooting steps that may help too. If the USB device does not appear in Device Manager, then it might be a question of power requirement. Unplug the machine and perform the following steps until the device is detected:

    • Reboot the laptop
    • Plug in and wait five seconds.

    • If the device does not appear, try connecting to another USB port.

    • If the USB device is displayed in Device Manager after you connect the cable to a different port, then uninstall and reinstall the software of USB device driver.

If the device is not recognized in any port, unplug it and go to the next step.

    • Open the Device Manager.
    • Double-click Bus USB controllers,

    • Double-click on a USB root hub,

    • Click the Power tab

    • Click on properties of power supply (if it is displayed).

Devices need that are connected to the hub are shown, as well as the power they have. If the total displayed power is more than 500 mA, remove the devices and use a hub powered.

    • Continue looking at the properties of the power of each USB hub. If the total power required exceeds the total available power for the hub, then remove a device on this hub to a decrease in the number of consumption.

    • Plug in and wait five seconds. If the device is not recognized, unplug and go to the next step.

Please note; Remove USB cables at high speed that are more than 3 m (9.8 ft) in length and use cables at high speed that are shorter than 3 m.

When we came to a resolution, please share what has worked for you with others by marking this post as an acceptable Solution. If you do not want to show your appreciation for my efforts today, please take a second to click the Thumbs Up button below.

If please re-post and let me know the detailed results of all the troubleshooting steps in this post. Could you please provide me with your model number (How can I find my model number or product number?) also.

  • Network controller is not recognized on Satellite A100 Windows XP

    Hi all!

I bought a Satellite A100 PSAAR and I did a clean install of Windows XP on it. I installed all the drivers in the correct order (downloaded from the support page) but I still have a problem:

Ethernet controller and network controller appear with a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager, and they are not recognized. I have downloaded the driver lan and I managed to do recognize the ethernet controller. However no matter how hard I tried, I can't find the correct driver for the NETWORK CONTROLLER, which still appears in Device Manager in yellow color.

I really could use any help here... Thank you in advance.

    Hello

Shouldn´t be a big problem to get some drivers for your machine's real lan. Just go here:

    http://www.Intel.com

and download the intel proset for ethernet controller. If you didn t already installed the wireless card, do so. Otherwise the other network controller could be the bluetooth adapter.

It would be nice to hear from you...

    See you soon

  • WiFi not recognized on Tecra A3 card

    Hello
I have a laptop old enough, I think that on registration to this site he said the production date was end of 2005. It is a Tecra A3 series.
I was wondering if someone could give me some tips for the inside wireless card.

I tried to download the drivers for the wireless card that says that the Web from Toshiba site, but installing the driver just tells me plug-in card, when it is already.
I took out the card and its reference number is: PA3362U 1MPC.
Its not even come in windows XP Device Manager.

EDIT: Sorry just a few details, it was working at one point. But I had to reformat, since reinstalling windows. I read that it is possible that "the map is not enabled", but it is not recognized in Device Manager?

So far I have not conscientious, but I recently upgraded my wireless broadband connection and I would like to be able to use the wireless card.
Anyone could offer me some tips on how to get it operational?

Thanks for your time in reading.
    Andy.

    Hello

If your wireless network card is properly inserted, then it should appear in the NICs as unknown device under Device Manager (if the driver has not been installed) or must be properly recognized as Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 b/G Wlan card.

Yes, PA3362U 1MPC part number seems to belong to the * Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 b / G * Wlan card. I have goggled a bit and found some info that could confirm it.

So, you should definitely use an Intel Wlan driver for this card to work.

    Hi VB

If I understood you as soon as you use an image from a laptop on your Satellite A100? Am I wrong?

As you know each PC or laptop has different hardware architecture and it is logical that he cannot work. It is not possible to use recovery for two similar portable media.

Sorry if I got hurt, but it will be interesting to know why you do this when you have already preinstalled unit with all latest drivers on this subject.
