  The D800 is supported in Camera Raw 7.1 or newer

  CS5 is compatible with Camera Raw 7 or newer. You must CS6 (paid for the upgrade or join the cloud of Adobe).

  Or stay with CS5 and use the free DNG Converter to convert all the D800 Raw files to DNG, and then edit the DNG in Bridge and Photoshop

  I dropped a file .nef on a USB key and if I double-click on the application file Photo opens almost immediately and after a delay the display of the photo. In the office library, view of the key file is assigned the Photo icon.

  Photoshop requires at least version 8.4 of camera raw to be able to directly open these Nikon NEF D4S files which is available in Photoshop CS6 and above versions (not in CS5)

  You can upgrade to a higher version of Photoshop or download Adobe DNG converter to convert raw files to DNG and access these DNG files in Photoshop CS5.

  Not only PSE13 an update can use the ACR 8.7 necessary plugin. (Version 8.7.1 is expected soon, but not necessary).

  Your option is to use the free DNGconverter (if in Win, you must at least Win7).

  What is - this with Adobe?  Whenever I try to use their product I hit another road block.  First, she used LR and PS on a screen high resolution.  Then, I bought their monthly subscription and got several versions of PS, not knowing what is the most recent and correct to use version.  The latest version is CC in Photoshop or Photoshop CS5. Now I can't get Bridge CS5 to recognize my Nikon D300 raw files.  Adobe lost, it's the foot?   I am extremely frustrated with Adobe products, and apparently there are thousands, or even millions of other customers

  You must ensure that if the device is connected in PTP/MTP mode, you must change the USB mass storage mode.

  This means generally that you do not have WRITE permission in the destination folder where you try to write files in the import step.

  you need support cr 8.7 or better.  for this you need ps cs6 or better.

  (or use the dng converter).

  The D750 is much too recent for Lightroom 3, so there is no way to directly import the NEF files.

  You have 2 choices:

  1. Purchase Lightroom 6/Lightroom CC
  2. convert the NEF files to DNG using the FREE Adobe DNG Converter (8.7 or later), then import the DNG in Lightroom 3

  Hi, ATR, just for you say, my firewall etc is managed by software Norton anti-virus, the reason why I could not update was the firewall, entered the firewall of windows 8 and found a facility to allow applications through firewall he, Adobe was not one of them, so I just added 13 elements Adobe and hey presto it allowed me to do all the necessary updates , I now camera raw 8.7 update on 13 items.
