NMH405 wont boot/recognize the drives?

We recently had a power outage, once power has been restored the Media Hub has not restarted

I've tried a few things, but its symptoms are:

The power switch flashes blue and displays the logo of the clock on the LCD

Attempts to restore:

1: let it sit for a while, left the night still the same after 12 hours;

2: press and hold to reset for 30 seconds, still no luck

3: read somewhere a hard reset if hold reset for 10 seconds, turn off for 10 sec, restart and then release the reset button, still no luck;

4: tried to remove disk HARD 2 (2 x Seagate 320) and the departure, same result

5: connect a USB hard disk drive and the hard drive activity light is lit but still no joy

6: tried directly connected to my computer. Sill same symptoms

Is their way I can load the firmware on it while it is like that? Or I'm ready for a new NAS box?

I have not tried the discs still to see if they have failed, but I guess both drives would not have failed at the same time

It appeared that among drives TOUGH in the pair have given up. No it was not implemented in Raid so he's the DAMM multimedia collection... Thanks for your help quiet1

CD/DVD does not recognize the drive.  Error message-"Insert a disk." • IS does not recognize the drive HARD internal

I have three, all from a school lab, that have been linked with other positive points and printers.

They are connected are not together anymore.

All three have a floppy drive and a HARD drive. Will only boot from the HARD drive.

At startup, the other two do not recognize their HARD drive and I use ea disk with the system in this regard.

Since hard drives are not 'seen' I am unable to do anything with them: fix, set up as a boot drive, etc.

They begin with the usual chimes and the Mac with the question mark, I slip the disk in and they complete commissioning.

The internal drive spin up and the indicator light flashes.

They do not show the drive HARD internal on the screen, but will show an external.

I haven't started to swap parts between the good and the other two.

Does anyone have an idea on how to activate an invisible HARD drive?

You will need to use the boot floppy disks to start the machines to run the repair disk, partition and format the HARD drive if it is still functional. Only then can you install Mac OS on the HARD drive. That's all that I remember.

The last part of your post (smart test) says that it is defective. To confirm this further you can try to physically remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer as an external drive or a secondary drive for further tests using the manufacturer's diagnostic program. BTW, Seagate is the manufacturer of the disk hard so that you can go to their site and download their program.

    The problem is simple.
Your phone does support not all readers of CD/DVD slimline because different or bad master/slave/c-salt settings.

  • When changing the 80 GB to 40 GB HARD drive, Satellite M40 does not recognize the drive

    Hi all

    Thanks for coming in! :)
I recently source two-disc 40GB 2.5 "IDE and intended to run one of them in my Satellite M40.

    The problem starts here:

    (1) I took the original 80 GB hard drive & install the 40 GB hard drive
    (2) start and put in the Toshiba M40 recovery disk
    (3) display screen 'Y' for recovery blah blah blah thing...
    (4) then the screen shows 'cannot be installed because no hard drive found ".
    (5) I boot in the BIOS using F2-> F1, page 2 shows no hard drive

    (6) I try to use my own CD of Windows XP Pro, same thing (as in no hard drive found)
    (7) and the BIOS too show no hard drive found

The two disk 40 GB is out of mobile work and they formatted it, partition deleted with NOTHING on it. They have also been tested on other PCs (using the converter) using WXP. Two of them work very well!

Now, the weird thing is that I just can't make it work at least in the Sat - M40. Why is this? Toshiba locked the M40 being one Toshiba-disc is usable?
Is there a place to get through it? Hidden BIOS?

I have fixed a large number of PCs, but I can't with this, Please HELP...
Any response would be appreciated, thanks! :)

    Hello

The M40 should be able to use 40 GB hard drives with no problems.
But you must use hard drives with the right interface.
To my knowledge the M40 supports hard drives with an interface IDE (ATA-6).

So be sure that your 40 GB HARD drive supports it.

By the way; Check if your HARD drive supports the good master or slave definition.

You can search by part number, I guess HP store parts shows, it is no longer available at HP.

The problem is that none of us are 100% positive, the drive is bad.

I could take a look at the front of the car and see if there is no generic who would take too long the buttons to open to try it are similar in size and location, this should work.
