No access to the network for machine W7 XP machine

I tried everything I could find until now but still no access to shared folders on my Office XPsp3 for my new laptop Windows 7. I havepeut however use the printer. Also I can browse shared folders on the laptop W7 since Office XP. I tried a number of "fixes" so far but still get the:

  • \\XPmachine is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
  • Connection failure: the user has not granted the type of logon required on this computer.
  1. I tweaked IRPStack registry at 15
  2. Turned or Simple sharing of files on the XP machine
  3. set up the correspondence of the usernames and passwords on both machines.
  4. Checked and double-checked the permissions are set for all
  5. The two machines are ysing the same workgroup name

In my view, there are a number of people having problems with this question and that some become it solved and some are not. I am so far on of the 'are destitute. "

The problem and the solution are on the XP computer.  Run the Configuration Wizard from the network - which is often all that is needed.  If this does not solve it:

If the computer is running Windows XP Professional:

1. click on Start > run , type secpol.msc in the box, and then click OK .
2. click on local strategies .
3. click on user rights assignment .
4. click access this computer from the network and make sure that the everyone group is included.
5. click deny access to this computer from the network and make sure that the everyone group is NOT included.

If the computer is running Windows XP Home Edition, the "secpol.msc" program is not available.  To make the user required assignments of rights:

1. download and install the Tools of the Windows 2003 Server Resource Kit .

2. click on Start > all programs > Windows Resource Kit Tools .

3. click on control interface .

4. type these lines to the prompt exactly as shown (case sensitive):

NET user guest/active: Yes

  • access to the network for INI files

    Hi all.

I have an application running on four computers.  Have access to a local file server.  All five computers running Windows 7.

The four target computers search or create an INI file to save the test data for the products under test.  Occasionally, during the trial period, we observed INI related errors.  Specifically, the software starts the error of UIETooManyFilesOpen around either the Ini_WriteToFile or the Ini_ReadFromFile functions (and rarely the UIEIOError).

The distance between the file server and the taget machines is less than 50 feet.  I made sure that the file server does not sleep.

Access to the machines of the target file server is resolved simply by a path mapped in the form: "X:\folder\folder\."

Should I do something differently for this type of topology?  I have considered restructuring the software as it does all of its newspapers written locally and only occasionally writing to the file server.  But I'm not clear why this particular error would happen in the first place.

  • How to restrict access to the network for customers in the lobby.

    Hello

How is - this preferable to limit the access of the data ports in the lobby of the company for Internet access only? Although the hosts are not on the field, is it safe to allow them to reach the port of data?

I suggest setting up a vlan separate for these ports and usig dot1q on trunk this vlan to a DMZ interface dedicated or the subinterface on your firewall with an ACL that only allows access to the internet. That should do the trick.

  • vSwitch ESXi 5.1 workaround to virtual machines (direct access to the network)

    Hello world!

I have a server running properly the 5.1 ESXi hypervisor and got inside the physical grid active router with DHCP. How can I configure the vSwitch on ESXi 5.1 work not managed on the network, without VLAN and have direct access to the network?

Just to clarify, I would like to first of all virtual machines VMware Workstation works - if it is possible to run several virtual machines and define all NICS (Network Interface Card) as connected by a bridge, that is to say. Each VM gets the specific configurations of IP to the external router.

Since now, thank you very much for the help!

    Best regards

    Eduardo

With ESXi the vSwitches work comparable to Bridged networking, so there is really nothing special to do.

  • Restrict access to the network on 871 router via mac address

    Hello

I have a Cisco 871 router and I am trying to allow only specific MAC addresses access to the network. Is there a way to specify that only specific MAC addresses are allowed to access? Any other MAC access will be denied?

I can either have static IP or DHCP for local machines.

Can I use this "secure DHCP IP address assignment" details found here... http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2t/12_2t15/feature/guide/ftdsiaa.html ?

    I use these...

    static Mac address table

    OR

    Security table of Mac addresses

    ... to achieve this?

    Thank you.

You can use "mac-address-table static" If you know all the mac addresses that will be connected.

If the router is by distributing ip addresses so you can indeed do secure IP DHCP address assignment.

Note that you can make a 'mac access-list' switch and aplly in any vlan you want.

Alternatively, you can do "dhcp snooping" allowing guests who got a dhcp ip addresses and are not identity theft.

    I hope it helps.

  • From Firefox blocks all access to the network

When I start Firefox (41.0.1), all access to the network is completely blocked. Before you start the FF, I can access the Internet (with Chrome or IE), other computers, but as soon as I launch Firefox, all access to the network (including the connection to other computers) is blocked. In addition, my computer will turn off more.

As far as I KNOW, I have not installed lately extensions or add-ins.

Thank you for your resolution. Today, when I mentioned to work, I was told to update Firefox. This seems to do the trick (so far, fingers crossed!).

(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings) so very probably an extension is causing harm.

When this isn't ' t the resolution, I will surely return to your resolutions.

  • "No access to the network" problem in Windows 7 and error message "your computer seems to be correctly configured but the device or resource (DNS SERVER) is not responding."

Hello, I have a desktop PC and a laptop (DELL Inspiron N-4050).
I have problem with my internet connection cable which is working fine on my PC, but does not not on my laptop giving an error "no access to the network.

When I troubleshoot it says "your computer seems to be correctly configured but the device or resource (DNS SERVER) is not responding."
I said to many technicians of microsoft online response, but they could not solve my problem and said this is my DNS problem and advised me to contact my Internet service provider. Guess it's because of my internet so why it works on my PC not on laptop?

Yesterday, my ethernet cable pulled out my cell phone and I couldn't connect to the internet more. But on my desktop PC, it works perfectly fine. (I do not use wifi, if this information is also required) I have studied several threads with similar situations, and I have tried different methods to solve the problem to no avail. I did a system restore, but I'm having no luck. Also, I did not of the latest changes with my anti virus software and my LAN card drivers look to date.

When I remove my cable from the laptop and again connect my cable then it works but only after the PC sat for awhile.
1.I did flush DNS by typing "ipconfig/flushdns" in the command prompt.
    2. my IP address, DNS, subnet mask etc are set to automatic.
3.I also added physical address taken from command line giving "ipconfig/all". for the properties of the network driver settings.
4.I ' installed the drivers to date of 2014 on my laptop.
5.I did a lot of searching the web, but they do not solve my problem.

Please help me to solve it.
    I appreciate your help.

  • OAS / provides access to the files for Internet Explorer browser

    Hello

I would like to provide access to the files for browser Internet Explorer with a Url of type https://myserver.com:443 / photos

    How is this thing?

    Thank you
    A.G.

    Here's what you do:

    1. ensure that your /pictures directory is a subdirectory in the htdocs directory. By default the htdocs directory is $OH/Apache/Apache/htdocs. If you have directory default htdocs, so your images created under that directory place your files. If your photos directory will be $OH/Apache/Apache/htdocs/images

-Edit $OH/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf to make sure that you have following set of guidelines:

    AllowOverride All

    AccessFileName .htaccess

Note that this is a security concern to set AllowOverride to all, then you should put carefully. See below for more details on the AllowOverride directive:
    http://httpd.Apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/core.html#AllowOverride

-In your /pictures directory, create a file with the name .htaccess with a single line:

    Options + Indexes

See below for more details on 'Options ':
    http://httpd.Apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/core.HTML#options

-C' is this, restart your OHS (Oracle HTTP Server) and access after URL to see the list of directories:
    http://myserver.com:7777 / images

If you want to list directories only happen via the SSL port (443), then you can have above guidelines defined in in $OH/Apache/Apache/conf/ssl.conf.

    Thank you

  • Access to the network in all virtual machines lost after that put 8.1 to level.

Today, I upgraded my host computer to Windows 64-bit Pro 8.1. I did the upgrade through the Windows store. There are no errors or problems during the upgrade.

However: The host machine equipped with a Qualcomm E2200 network adapter, and it runs the 'Killer' Network Manager software called at startup. After the 8.1 update, when the machine did its last restart, Qualcomm Network Manager opened with a message that the LSP has not mapped correctly. I clicked 'YES' to remap it. Probably a stupid move on my part.

Thereafter, I lost all network connectivity in all my virtual machines. I have virtual machines for Windows 8, Windows 8.1 RTM (not the preview) and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. ALL of them have lost the network.

The host computer has no network problem and works well after the upgrade.

Any ideas or suggestions to reset network connections in virtual machines?

All virtual machines are set to use NAT.

Oh I have to say also that the host computer is running VMware Workstation 10 and everything was fine and dandy, has never had problems at all until this upgrade/LSP remap thing. I have install VMware Tools in the VM of Windows 8.1, with no effect at all.

    Thank you.

    -J

    Two things, I'll try:

    1. go in the virtual network editor and restore settings. The culprit is probably the VMNet to NAT configuration.

    2. If this does not work, it seems that the virtual card for NAT does not somehow. The simplest workaround is to uninstall and reinstall the workstation.

  • Photosmart 5520 lies on the network for the first minutes

Hello.  I bought a Photosmart 5520 in November last year.  It was working fine until the scanner no longer works last week.  Still under warranty and after checking, it was a hardware failure, HP sent a replacement printer.

Now try to put in place as I had with the previous (who worked with no problem), it seems to play up.  When I start by putting, it connects to my wireless network.  And, throughout all the time, he thinks that it is connected, showing the correct in its window IP address when asked.

However, each computer attempts to connect to it can initially.  Then, after 3-4 minutes, we get the unavailable destination host.  I get this regardless of how networking is configured (static or dynamic IP addresses).

For example, when I start the printer first, I can ping the machine no worries

    C:\Users\Ed>ping 192.168.1.9

192.168.1.9 ping with 32 bytes of data :
    192.168.1.9 response: bytes = 32 time = 2ms TTL = 255
    192.168.1.9 response: bytes = 32 time = 2ms TTL = 255
    192.168.1.9 response: bytes = 32 time = 2ms TTL = 255
    192.168.1.9 response: bytes = 32 time = 2ms TTL = 255

    Ping statistics for 192.168.1.9:
    Packets: Sent = 4, received = 4, lost = 0 (0% loss),
Time approximate round trip in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 2ms, Maximum = 2ms, average = 2ms

And I can access the printer from my browser.  But, wait a few minutes, do nothing, and then ping fails

    C:\Users\Ed>ping 192.168.1.9

192.168.1.9 ping with 32 bytes of data :
Reply from 192.168.1.10: Destination unreachable host.
Reply from 192.168.1.10: Destination unreachable host.
Reply from 192.168.1.10: Destination unreachable host.
Reply from 192.168.1.10: Destination unreachable host.

    Ping statistics for 192.168.1.9:
    Packets: Sent = 4, received = 4, lost = 0 (0% loss),

Note that the ip address assigned to the machine (and what is displayed across on the screen of the printer) is 192.168.1.9.  Ping still displays a reply from 192.168.1.10 (which is actually the IP address of the computer, I connected to via the USB connection).

I did the normal stuff to turn off the router for 30 seconds, and it makes no difference.  What can I do to keep this work properly?

    Thanks for any help.

Hello Nicolas and welcome on the HP forums!

I see you have a Photosmart 5520 which has been recently replaced for a hardware problem and now the replacement seems to have problems with your wireless network. I'm sorry to hear that, but I'll certainly do my best to help

Because the first printer did not have the same issues, it would be reasonable to assume that this printer is just being meddlesome, (most of the time, anyway ) with which I ask, have you tried to restore default network settings and then reconnect the printer to the wireless network? Otherwise, to restore the default settings of network on the printer the wrench on the top touch right, touch wireless and then scroll down to network by default. Once that is done, try to reconnect the printer to the network and see if it does the same thing.

If this does not change the behavior of printers on the wireless network, please make sure that it is get the latest Firmware and updates.

If that isn't also solve the problem, we will have to try a reset of the printer. If the first two suggestions don't help, please read this privacy statement for HP and I will reply with a reset of your forums Inbox.

    Hi hereme,

    1. how many computers is there is the same network?

    2. Why do you map CD\DVD drive?

Instead of map the drive, you can share and check if it works.

    Share files with anyone

If you want to map the drive to see the link below to a thread with similar problem and try the steps mentioned.
