No access to the Preferences tab

I can't find how to access preferences. It is certainly not in my menu tab drop-down. I have the latest version, BTW.

You have the Firefox Orange button in the upper left corner of your window of Firefox? If so, click it, and then click Options. It has your preferences.

If I understand correctly, Windows XP indeed cannot replace printer drivers in certain circumstances.  The best way to go is to make sure that the old (maybe corrupted) driver is deleted and then reinstall the printer using an installation package of fresh driver (usually obtained by downloading from the website of the printer mfr).

    1. Unplug the printer.
    2. Uninstall the software associated with the printer using the control panel > Add / Remove programs.
    3. Open Printers and faxes and delete the printer (right click > delete)
    4. In printers and faxes, click file > server properties > tab drivers.  Select the driver concerned, then click on remove.
    5. Restart the computer.
    6. Run the installation package that you downloaded.  Do not connect the printer until prompted by the installation program.

  • When I run firefox v42 mac, the Preferences tab load as well

When I run Firefox version Mac 42 on Mountain Lion, my homepage loads perfectly, but another 'Préférences' tab always seems to load as well. How can I stop this other tab from loading? Thank you, Ken.

Hi Ken, one of the possible reasons are if the preferences page has been added as a second 'Home tab' in which case it will be displayed in each new window (Cmd + n) and every time that you click the Home button.

To verify that you can use the preferences, the general Board, the section to start page, as described in this article: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

In the area of the Home Page, look for a vertical bar separating two addresses of character. A simple example with short URLS:

    https://www.mozilla.org/|about:preferences

The bar certainly can be hard to spot with long URLs, but when you find it, delete everything to the right of the bar, then the bar itself (I suggest to remove the last bar so things don't accidentally get it together).

  • Cannot launch Adobe InDesign that you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences files

Hi, I get the error message following the launch CC15 attempt:

Cannot launch Adobe InDesign that you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Make sure that you have the appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign.

Any help appreciated as I passed the age trying to find a solution!

    Hi André,.

It seems your preferences and cache files have not all permissions. There are two things you can do to solve this problem:

    1. provide full access to the preferences and cache of InDesign files, more information on ERROR when you try to launch

    2. or create a new user on your system admin and start InDesign from there.

  • OMSA v7.4 preferences tab to go?

Just loaded OMSA v7.4.  The Preferences tab (which is where you adjust the settings for the server of the OMSA, including the update of the x.509 certificate) is gone.

This web page has a link on the bottom for managing the Web server.  But he does not accept a login (the same login that annoys me in the main pages of OMSA fails here).    That's where preferences are gone?

If we use the OMSA on a virtual machine to access the VMWare host information via manage a remote host, the credentials to be accepted by OMSA to "manage the Web server?  The identification information that we use to access the host via OMSA, or the credentials of the virtual machine.  Neither work for me

    Hello

The preferences tab is always present in point 7.4. If you administer remotely using OMSA so make sure you update OMSA on the station management and the host that you want to manage. If they are on different versions, then you will have weird questions like the connection problem you are experiencing.

Also, make sure that you install the version of the managed node on the host system and not the version of the web client that is intended to be used for remote management.

  • I don't have any encryption under the options tab. This can be corrected? If this is not the case, how could access it?

When I go to Options on the Advanced tab, there is no encryption between update tab and certificates. How would access the encryption info?

There is no encryption tab in current versions of Firefox.

The current releases of Firefox no longer have a setting in the user interface to disable TLS or SSL3 and you must make the change on the subject: config page and edit two prefs.

SSL3 is enabled by default in the current version of Firefox (security.tls.version.min = 0) and TLS to TLS 1.2 versions (security.tls.version.max = 3).

You can change the preferences of security.tls.version.min and security.tls.version.max to define what TLS versions are enabled.

You will need to close and restart Firefox after you change these prefs.

    security.tls.version.min = 0 (1 will disable SSL3 and only enable TLS)
    security.tls.version.max = 2 (0 will disable TLS 1.0 and higher, leaving only SSL3 enabled)

    0 means SSL 3.0, 1 means TLS 1.0, 2 means TLS 1.1, 3 means TLS 1.2 etc.

  • Re-uploaded because there was no access to the web, and it is not yet. Opens in private browsing, no Firefox tab is visible, so I can't do anything.

I don't remember having chosen Private Browsing until I deleted Firefox on my computer. After you download from the Web site, the same screen appears. It does not resemble the Web site displays. I have a screenshot, but don't see a way to fix it here.
The top line is blue background of Windows and said "Start Mozilla Firefox - Mozilla Firefox (private browsing) Page".
Lower than that of the context Tan the usual File, Edit, View etc.
Lower than a tab with: the image of Fox and the "Mozilla Firefox Start Page.
Thaat below: arrow, arrow, box "go to a Web site", and arrears on the right a blue g and a tab drop down to search engines, down for downloads and the symbol of the House.
bottom line usual Google that shows that my most used bookmarks
The large area below that contains the symbol of the Fox in the Center above the search box (which does not). In the upper right corner is "mozilla" gray type.
Crossing the lower part is a clear grey banner with "downloads, Favorites, history, modules, sync and Settings" with their symbols above.
I had to remove PC Matic Supershield to get the download to work at all, and now after hours of tests, I am right where I started.

Make sure that you are not Firefox running in (permanent) private browsing mode.

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".
    • Uncheck the box: [] "always use the navigation mode private.

You can check for problems with preferences and try to rename or delete the file prefs.js and possible prefs - numbered # .js and a user.js file possible to restore the values all default prefs.

Try to start the computer in safe mode Windows with network support (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test to see if that helps.

One possible cause is security software (firewall, antivirus) that prevents or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Hi, I'm not familiar with Mac, but I think it should work - it does in Windows: Type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.preferences.inContent and double-click on it to change the "value" from true to False, taking care to not to change what anyone else. You will then need to restart Firefox.

  • I can't find the Firefox tab to access the option to add a Firefox sync account to my computer desktop from. Where is he?

The online instructions say click on the Foxfire tab at the top of the page. I can't find this tab. Where can I find this tab so I can create an account to sync to my desktop?

    Hi skadish,

If you do not see the Firefox tab, you can simply go to Tools > Options > Sync to implement our sync account. The Firefox button can be activated by going on view > toolbars and activation of the menu bar. You don't have to use the menu of Firefox, it's a personal preference.

    Hope this helps!

  • Bookmarks on the toolbar create new tab/window even if is selected in the preferences to do so.

Even if I have the box "open new windows in a new tab instead" checked, when I click on one of the links in my Bookmarks Toolbar, it will open in a new tab window. I clicked several bookmarks in the toolbar, and it happens on each of them.

Also, when I click on the different links to different AppleMails, it opens a new tab/window.

How can I get links in my toolbar to recognize the preference chosen to make a new tab/window?

The setting in tools > Options > tabs: "new pages should be opened in ': 'a new tab/window' is for links that specify a target window to open the link.

This option allows to divert these links into a new tab instead of a new window.

For links that do not specify a target, use a middle click or hold down the Ctrl key and click the link or use the context menu to open the link in a new tab or window.

Click 'help ' | "Restart with disabled modules. In the next menu that appears, select: "reset toolbars and controls. Then click on the button called "make changes and restart".
