    Hi arkitekromero,

Given that repair options did not work for you.  I suggest you try the method below.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

Rename the Pending.xml file, and then change the registry notes read the following important notes before you use this troubleshooting method.

    • Use this method to resolve the symptom of restart that is described in the "Symptoms" section, so that you can back up data before you reinstall Windows. You must use this method of troubleshooting only if you plan to back up data and reinstall Windows.
    • Use this method only after trying other methods.

Note If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer for instructions on how to continue.

    • Use this method only if the computer has no restore points or if you cannot start your computer to a point where the system restore feature is available.
    • After using this method, the following conditions may exist until reinstalling Windows:
      • An update is being installed may not be installed correctly.
      • Windows Update may not work correctly.

      • You may be unable to enable and disable certain Windows functions in option.
      • Certain optional Windows features may not work correctly.
      • The computer may be in an unprotected state.

To rename the Pending.xml file, and edit the registry, follow these steps.

Start Windows Vista and go to system recovery options:

    1. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then restart the computer.
    2. When you are prompted to restart from the disc, press any key.
    3. When you are prompted, configure the language to install, time and currency formatsand keyboard or input method options that you want, and then click Next.
    4. On the Install Windows page, click repair your computer.
    5. In the System Recovery Options page, click the version of the Windows Vista operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

Use the system recovery options to rename the Pending.xml file and modify the registry:

    1. In the System Recovery Options page, click command prompt.
    2. Type cd C:\windows\winsxs, and then press ENTER.
    3. Type ren pending.xml pending.old, and then press ENTER.
    4. Type regedit and press ENTER.
    5. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
    6. On the file menu, click load the hive.
    7. Look for the following folder:
      C:\windows\system32\config\components
    8. When you are prompted for a name, type Offline_Components.
    9. In the registry editor, find and delete the following registry subkey:
      HLKM\Offline Components\AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving
      HKLM\Offline Components\PendingXmlIdentifier

    Exit the registry editor:

    1. At the command prompt, type exit to quit the registry editor.
    2. Press ENTER.
    3. Click restart.

    Update, December 30, 2013:

Although Jaco has been more than helpful with this issue (read the thread for lots of great ideas and he provided information), I marked by error this issue having been resolved while he was not. I don't know how United Nations brand it, if I add this note.

I thought, when I got the link to get instructions from HP, I got everything that I had to this summary. That was not the case. So, my apologies. I shouldn't be marked as resolved until what I had followed the process to the end. I'm still stuck in the same exact spot.

    Hello

Sorry for the inconvenience, but please, use this link. The previous link was for Windows Vista. This link is for Win 7.

    You are the very welcome.

  • How can I turn it back on XP after the physical conversion to hyper-v

I've used disk2vhd utility to convert an XP machine a .vhd.  I rode to a new virtual machine.  It starts fine, but when I did, he invites me to activate the copy of Windows.

Two problems.  First, the device drivers have apparently not been installed, as well as the network does not work yet.  Activation over the internet is not possible.

If I choose telephone activation, the automated system tells me that the code is not a valid MS product.  Yet, there is a sticker of genuine produuct on the side of the box from Dell.

My only option is to stop right there.  Any suggestions?

Have you actually tried Telephpone activation? -l'option is buit in XP

However, as I said, it is useless if you do not have a valid license in the first place.

If you * do * have a license valid, then try this...

You might be able to solve your immediate problem of the 30-day activation grace period has expired by resetting it. Follow these steps:

    1. If the computer can be started in a safe mode command prompt, do.

    2. at the command prompt, type this command exactly (space, caps and comma are required):

    Rundll32.exe syssetup, SetupOobeBnk

    3. restart.

If you did it, your activation grace period will have been reset, giving you more time to work on the problem.

    3. click Tools, and then, at the bottom, click on Options.

    4. in the window that opens, you should see the word "General", click it. Then, a little down inside the window, you should see a box that has the homepage next to him. Click on the button "Restore Default".

  • IE cache on the browser back side

    Hi all

I have a form page, a page of action and a confirmation page.

I send the form page... takes me to the action page where I validate the fields... fields are NOT valid... I place the data and the error message in the session and redirect (cflocation) to the form page. In the page of form I to store session variables (err message and incorrect data) into local variables, destroy the session variables and use local variables afterwards.

Now I have the correct values and submit the form again... going... valid action page and then redirect to the confirmation page.

Now if I use my browser back from the confirmation page, it takes me to the page of form with the validation error message and incorrect data... I understand that the IE 7 browser uses the cache to get the data... but I tried to use cfheader and META tags to avoid pulling... always pulls of browser cache cache... This does not happen in Firefox. I use the following code.

    < name cfheader = 'cache-control' value = "no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate" >
    < name cfheader = "pragma" value = "no-cache" >
    < name cfheader = "expires" value = "#getHttpTimeString (now ()) #" >

    < META HTTP-EQUIV = "expires" CONTENT = "-1" >
    < META HTTP-EQUIV = "pragma" CONTENT = "no-cache" >
    < META HTTP-EQUIV = "cache-control" CONTENT = "no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate" >

Any thoughts on how this can be resolved?

    Hi Madhu,

I am back. I revisited the thread and my test code. The first code that worked for me is, in fact, not very different from the one I gave above. Only the headers, no tag meta. And my headers are more or less the same as those of the original of your post, too!  So why it works for me and not for you?

The crucial point to be noted is that if IE buttons next and previous shows pages cached, then it may be that these pages were already stored as history. This means that, in your case, IE must have disobeyed the directive no.-cache. How?

My first guess is: the web server. If you're using ColdFusion's built-in JRun Web Server, for example, then who might be the index. This web server uses the HTTP/1.0 protocol to answer. Current browsers expect the HTTP/1.1 version. For example, the Cache-Control header was introduced in HTTP/1.1. It could be that HTTP/1.0 is too old for IE and, possibly, that IE is not backward compatible as the HTTP protocol is concerned. Test for to do us next is to compare the behavior of the headers for HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1 web servers.

  • How to avoid the focus problem when browsing via browser back button

    Hello

I am facing a problem in setting focus on the buttons.
    Please see application: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=47869:2

    login details:
    Workspace: vsanthanam
    user: vijay
    PSWD: apex_demo

In this application, I have 2 pages.
    #2 has the "submit" button
Page no. 3 contains the Cancel button

The two buttons are basic HTML and can be accessed using access key ALT + s and ALT + c.

    The problem is:
When I go back to the previous page (pgid #2) of the application using back button of the browser pgid IE #3.
due to the onFocus event located in the button "submit", control returns to pgid #3.

Is there a possible way to set the focus to other elements. so that whenever IE brower back button, application would stay in
    page #2.

    I took approaches:
    -------------------------
If we use onclick, onfocus instead and then the problem remains because we have onfocus = "this.click (); in equipping the Accesskey.
Another way is onKeyup event. If we use onKeyup, we can avoid this browser back problem, but disappears from the access keys functions.

Pointers on this would be a great help.

    Thank you very much
    -Vijay

PLEASE NOTE: I have created intentionally two buttons on each page. It is necessary to have HTML buttons with the key features of access,
otherwise application gives a few flaws in HTML accesskey.

    Hi Vijay,

Crikey, aren't annoying browsers! It took a while to get out, but I've updated your SUBMIT1 button attributes:

    class="t20Button" AccessKey="s" tabindex="-1" onclick="javascript:this.blur();doSubmit('SUBMIT1');" onfocus="javascript:this.blur();doSubmit('SUBMIT1');"

Note that I removed the spare semicolons you after each attribute - these are only required in javascript code.

The important point to note are the statements of "this.blur" () - this tells the browser to move away from the current item to the next. On your page, only for this purpose, I have added a text element of Temp - I am assuming that your actual page will have at least one other element on the page that will accept the focus? Everything gets focus of the call "this.blur ()", should be the element with focus when the Back button is used.

  • Back button focus with the 6 d

I can't get the focus of the "back" of my 6 d (AF-ON) button to work.  After you follow the instructions on the Canon Website on how to implement, the right button does nothing.  Auto focus works only with the shutter button.  I have the function set to "P" which I understood to be okay.  Reset the camera to factory would help?  I'd rather not have to send the camera to Canon for repair of a single button.  Case of the unit was bought new and is still under warranty.

    Thank you

Glad to hear you got BBF put in place. It takes a bit of practice, but soon becomes second nature for emphasis in this way.

I don't know what you mean by "choice of the AI Servo.

Are you new on Canon cameras and systems development? Just in case you are...

Like most Canon cameras, the 6 d has three modes of automatic update: One Shot, AI Focus and AI Servo.

One Shot is intended for stationary subjects. The update is performed, then stops and locks, and Confirmation of development is given (the Green LED in the viewfinder, red flash of the AF point in the viewfinder, and if it is enabled, the "beep"). If it moves, you or the subject, or if you change the focal length of the zoom, to refocus you must lift the pressure completely on the button update (whether of BBF or a half press of the shutter button), then reapply.

It is very important to remember is when you use a zoom, since most modern are "varifocale" designs that does not maintain focus when the focal length is changed by zooming. If you use only one zoom, you need either: set the focal length first, before focusing. Alternatively, do not forget to refocus after zooming. Or, use instead the AI Servo.

Because development stops and locks after that he is suffering from a sudden, it's a good way if you use a technique of "focus and recompose.

AI Servo is designed for use with moving subjects. In fact, this is the mode to use each time the distance of the photographer and the subject changes for any reason, or if using a zoom and by changing the focal length. HAVE Servo will never block. Constantly, it measures the distance and updates the development, as long as keep you the pressure on the back button or hold down the shutter button depressed half, depending on how you have the camera set up.  HAVE Servo crashes ever, so there is no Confirmation of focus given. You must learn to trust the camera and yourself. It's working properly.

HAVE unusable Servo with the technique of "focus and recompose", except BBF is used. If the shutter button is always activated AF, it will cause the camera to focus elsewhere, when you try to take the picture after the restructuring. However if using BBF, all you have to do is raise the pressure of your thumb on the button to stop the development, allowing the use of AI Servo with "focus and recompose.

HAVE Servo is also ideal for use with zooms varifocale... given that the focus is continually updated the focal length of the lens is changed.

But he can be very good, AI Servo is not quite exact to the One Shot can be. So critical attention, when possible, use One Shot (Note: Live View and separate focusing system used is even more precise, although it is slower.) Much slower on most of the models... 70 D has a new system that improves a little focus Live View).

AI Focus is not actually a mode of development at all. He is supposed to decide for you, the subject is in motion or not and then move to the use as appropriate: One Shot or AI Servo. Frankly, I almost never use this mode. It may be better with the modern, but older cameras I tried it had a delay while the camera was "decide" mode to use, and which led me to miss some shots. Also, I prefer to choose my own mode of development, and since I use BBF, I can just leave my cameras in AI Servo most of the time. The word 'pro' oriented Canon models (1 d series cameras) have even an AI Focus mode. They have just two: One Shot and AI Servo.

There are a few "tweaks" to the AF systems, depending on the camera model, for example to set the priorities for follow-up or the ease with which "distracted" the AF system is if something momentarily intrudes between you and the subject.  Consult your instruction manual for that specific adjustment can be made with 6 d... I don't have so can't tell from experience.

There is a very useful series of three videos on auto focus systems Canon on YouTube, posted by B & H Photo and Rudy Winston of featuring Canon USA... Each video is long about half an hour and the first one is: highly recommended http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAx86nblZ2g , watching all three for additional info, even if they are a few years now and don't specifically talk about the focus 6 d system (5 d Mark II and the original 5 d AF systems are quite similar to 6 d, except that they have less than two points and have 6 in option hidden 'help' points available in AI Servo mode).

    I hope this helps.
