"No audio output device is installed" no sound, video controller and game on the Device Manager section,.
my laptop has no sound, it says no audio installed and the speaker symbol has a red cross on it. I tired all help but nothings worked, and the thing to fix auto could not fix. The Device Manager there is not even a sound, video, game controller section. Sometimes when I put into hibernation and back on I have sound and everything works fine (except when I run itunes and it stops again), but I say that I have no audio device again to restart the laptop. I have the vista updates this. All ideas
Thank you
I had the same problem with my Compaq F700 series laptop. His was a work day and does not not the other. I couldn't use most of the patches because they need to have the tab of sound, video, game available and also lacked this tab.

No Audio output device is installed (Windows 10 64 bit, HP Pavilion 500 series)
Model number: 500-007 a
Operating system: 10 64-bit Windows
Description of the problem: no sound.
Hello
I came from TenForums forum, hoping to find a solution to the problem of noise from my office.
Status of the solution of the problem is at: http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/45369-no-audio-output-device-installed.html
When I move my cursor on the audio icon on the corner at the bottom right of the screen, the message of the index says "no Audio output device is installed". By clicking on the audio icon so that windows are trying to solve the problem will not solve the problem.
In Device Manager, I have 2 "High definition audio controller" that display a yellow "!" mark on them. Both controllers are on the devices tab of system.
As you can see in the picture above, there is no tab "audio, video controller and game."
How can I get my sound back?
Thank you.
You are the very welcome.
What worries me is that your device manager does not have the IDT HD audio listed under sound video and game controllers Device Manager.
Normally, when you install W10, the IDT HD audio device is in the list, and it just doesn't work.
You can try reinstalling W10 and see what happens.

reinstall audio devices-error message: "no audio output device is installed" I have no sound - how to rectify the problem please? tried most of the quick fix ideas, but nothing seems to work
Hi Jammyhorse,
1. What is the number of brand and model of the PC?
2. when the problem started?
3. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?
Step 1:
You can check the following link and run the Fixit and see if helps solve the problem.
Diagnose and automatically repair audio playback problems
http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/NO_SOUND/
Also check out the link:
Tips for solving common audio problems
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/tips-for-fixing-common-sound-problems
Step 2:
In the BIOS settings advanced, you can also check if the onboard sound is enabled.
You can see the manual of the system manufacturer or contact the system manufacturer for more information on how to make the changes in the BIOS.
Note: Change to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
Hope this information is useful.

No Audio output device is installed, no sound in Device Mangager Toshiba Satellite Vista
I have the dreaded red X on the Volume control, "no Audio output device is installed", no. Sound Devices in device Mangager / Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901 running Vista-32. FixIt seem to fixit, or find.
The solutions that I have seen and tried on the Web just walk me through the first steps of the three solution and then drop out of cyberspace. I heard sound on this machine before, briefly, and then she returned to the non-cooperative State. I saw a few techno-jibberish once on the drivers are properly installed, to ensure that they are saved and enter into the registry and remove, from repair, screw up as much as you can before throwing the PC to the wall because you don't know what they speak and are to afraid to taste the risky proceedures, restore cannot help , or something.
What happened, what is the solution of 4th or 5th person has told and Toshiba wants hundreds of dollars to diagnose, and then just says that the computer must be replaced if they are too lazy or too ignorant to investigate and solve problems or reveal the real solutions. Reinstall the correct drivers does not work, there is no folder Sound and the game in Device Manager controller. I'm tenatious.
I also have a USB Port that Windows doesn't recognize after him malfuncitoned, why? FixIt can't find it, can't fixit. I suspect someone stuck the wrong connector on the USB port and fried something - can't rip out and replace it? I came back home, limited, vision limited, duration of limited attention, limited by the reckless lack of "Technicians" to help. I guess you are supposed to be able to pay and pay and pay for computer assistance, or die with your computer.
I just want this computer works correctly, as long as it costs, so I can go on the problem in my life.
Torchured!
Hello
Did you download the drivers directly from Toshiba for your model particulare?
Here is a link to that.
http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp
And there are the Toshiba Forums you can ask
Or you can backup your data and reinstall the operating system
You don't say if you have a Vista DVD that accompanies it.
Otherwise, you have a recovery Partition to reinstall Vista from
"How restore your laptop Toshiba to its state of charge software factory using system recovery"
https://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/bulletinDetail.jsp?soID=2737864&PF=true
If reinstallation does not she, you have a hardware problem with the audio device, which we cannot help you.
"stuck the wrong connector on the USB port and fried something - can't I just rip it out and replace it?
No, you can't rip out and replace
See you soon.

Hello GaryCaceres,

Make sure you have the latest driver for your Audio device. Visit the manufacturer's Web site and download the latest drivers for your Audio device.

No Audio output device is installed and no "Sounds" not listed in Device Manager.
I turned on the computer yesterday and immediately noticed the Red "x" of white/circle on the "speaker" icon. Roll the cursor over the icon gives me the message "no Audio output device installed. I have already read through the forums and tried some of the suggestions offered without result. Here's a quick deterioration of the situation. I am running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium service pack 2 on a Dell Dimension DM061 (32 bit). No updates have been downloaded and the system was not put into hibernation. I tried restoring the system without result. The Device Manager shows not yet "Sound, video and game controllers" to watch the drivers or disable them. He has not disabled or disconnected devices to display. To the best of my knowledge the soundcard is part of the motherboard with this system, so I've no idea what driver I could find. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Hello
I was hoping that the main issue was in the BIOS but it is also why I posted links to Dell
Support and their forums because he may be known issues with your model.Check this click - Device Manager - anywhere in the area in white/white - and then VIEW - chech to see the
Hidden - devices you can locate the audio device it?-----------------------------------------------------------------
If necessary:
Try an InPlace upgrade or repair Installation to see if your audio device can be reset.
If so it would probably be a good idea to update or re - install the latest drivers. You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
Product key. It must be the same version 32 or 64 BIT Vista OEM. Also the system
machine to usually sell the cheap disk since you already own Windows. Don't forget to make a good
backup or 3 (security in redundancy).On-site upgrade
http://vistasupport.MVPs.org/repair_a_vista_installation_using_the_upgrade_option_of_the_vista_dvd.htmThis tells you how to access the System Recovery Options and/or a Vista DVD

If those don't help you probably need a real computer store (leeks and pics
at a Best Buy or other department stores) or Support of Dell.---------------
Another possibility if there is a problem with the hardware with the audio device:
Car sound can be turned off in the BIOS and card USB sound a speedboat can be used
that is not expensive.Use your favorite search engine search - sound card USB or USB its adapter.
I hope this helps.

I started my pc windows 7 today like any other day, and he has not played the music to start. Then I looked at the volume icon in the corner and there was a big red X on the speaker symbol. I go over it and it displays the message "no audio output device is installed". I was confused, so I went to check the Device Manager and there is no sound Devices(or whatever it is called) tab. I then restarted my computer 3 times and still have no sound. I would try a system restore, but I can't choose restore points after the first start I did this morning. My sound card is a card for the Asus M2N - SLI. Any Suggestions?
Hi j03d03190,
- Do you see unknown devices in Device Manager?
Step 1
It seems that the Audio drivers are deleted or removed from the computer. I tried to check for audio drivers for your card mother M2N SLI and could not find drivers Audio in Windows 7. However, I suggest to download the Audio from Vista drivers from the Asus site and install it and check if that helps you solve the sound problem. Access the link below and download the Audio drivers for Windows Vista and install it.
http://support.ASUS.com/download/download.aspx
Step 2
You can also run Windows update on your computer and check updates and install and check it it helps you to install the audio drivers and to solve the sound problem. Access the link below and follow the steps to install Windows updates.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/install-Windows-updates
I hope this helps. Let us know the results.
Thank you and best regards,

No audio output device is installed
audio does not work. When I take the pointer to the audio symbol in the taskbar, it reads "no audio output device is installed". pls help me solve this problem
You upgrade to Windows 10 or was your system shipped with it? If you can provide information about the system, I will be able to help you.
In general, if you went you could look for drivers updated on www.hp.com/go/support in support and drivers to see if a new sound driver is available.

WANTED m6 that no audio output device is installed
Hi, I was looking at a CD on my m6 DESIRE last night and it worked fine. Today, I have the speaker with a red icon in the lower right corner of the screen and when hovering over it says "no audio output device is installed". I tried to uninstall the device driver, but that didn't fix it there.
The driver for device "IDT High Definition Audio Codec" under sound, video and game in Device Manager controllers also has a yellow exclamation point. When I uninstall and reboot, sometimes just with the yellow mark again. If I try to upgrade the driver, I get an error message "Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it." A device attached to the system does not work.
Help...
Installation of this driver fixed the problem: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en & cc = US & swItem = ob-109687-1 & jumpid = reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0002

Satellite U300-152 - no audio output device is installed
The sounds are works well when I do update windows, update antivirus and updated some software like adobe air and adobe shockwave but when I open the laptop the next morning, there is a red cross marked in the speaker icon on the lower right of the laptop and it says : "no audio output device is installed".
I couldn't find the sound and game controller in Device Manager so I'm frustrated. Its been 3 days now, I use the laptop without noise.
Can you please help me in this matter?
My laptop is Toshiba Satellite U300-152
Windows 7 Ultimate but not pre-installed (Vista Home has been the pre-installed)I tried to download the latest audio driver from realtek high defintion, but its still does not. Tried several restarts, System Restore, disable antivirus but does not yet.
I don't know what can be the problem but the fact is that updates Windows update offers some drivers and, in general, you should not install their Mr. with other words, you should only use the drivers from Toshiba.
What can you do now? Have you tried to reduce the OS to an earlier time (before installing updates) and check the functionality?
One last thing. Software driver Sound should start with Windows, then please check MSCONFIG > startup if the sound software is listed and enabled it.

Hello
Go to the Device Manager and in order to choose the hidden devices.
Now you should see all the devices that are available on this system. Now go to the sound, video and game controllers and remove the Intel(r) High Definition Audio HDMI, audio Conexant high definition Smart, etc.
In system devices, remove the Microsoft UAA Bus driver for high definition.
Now, restart the laptop.
After the new operating system reboot Windows should recognize all devices again.
Check this box!If this does not download the Conexant audio driver and reinstall
