No compatible network adapters were found - UCSC C220 M3S

Hi all

I'm a little new to Cisco servers so here my question.

I tried to install esxi on our new server C220 M3S.

But after installation I'm coming to the esxi screen, it says "no compatible network adapters found. Please consult... "

Any suggestions to what could be the problem?

I tried to install different versions of the custom image to esxi Cisco (5.5 5.1 5.0) with the same result.

/ Thomas

Hi Thomas,

It is possible that the optionROM for the integrated card is not activated.  Try to enable it in the BIOS, you can do so via the MMIC (see attached cimc_enable_optionrom). You also want to verify that this option gets enable in the bios.  You can enter the bios by pressing f2 during boot (see BIOS_Option_ROM)

Also if these are disable, you need to browse again the installation.   See the custom image link below for ESXi 5.5 Cisco.  I noticed that you are using ESXi 5.5 Update 1, but this is not yet supported.

    Hello

I'm new on the VMware virtualization software and work on implementing the vSphere environment. I'm on the initial phase of installation 5.0 ESXi and start using an ESXi installation the CD but it throws an error "not found network adapters".

I use the Intel Desktop Board DH67CL LAN support:

    LAN support

Subsystem Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mb / s) using the Intel® 82579V Gigabit Ethernet Controller

Instead of using the default NIC, we can also work with the addition of some NIC commonly available to the motherboard that is compatible with the 5.0.would of VMware ESXi, it works very well? If yes you make you recoomend to that effect?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

82579v drivers can be added to the installation cd, to support your integrated card.

  • "No found compatible network adapter" Blade HP VirtualConnect upgrade to ESXi 5

    Hello

I just upgraded a HP Proliant BL490c G6 of ESXi 4.1.0 to ESXi 5.0 U2. The host started OK but did not find the network interface cards. The exact error message at logon on the screen is "no compatible network adapter found. Please consult Hardware Compatibility Guide (HCG product) for supported cards. »

The host uses HP Virtual Connect for networking.

As a host ESXi 4 that there worked.

Using Update Manager 5 it has been then upgraded to ESXi 5 using the Image of ESX Custom HP (HP - ESX - 5.0.2 - standard-iso build 914586), which is when he lost the network cards.

(A similar upgrade of a G7 BL490c in the same chassis worked well)

When the blade reached ESXi version 4.1 network cards appeared in the viclient like Broadcom NetXtreme II 57711E/NC532i 10 Gig Ethernet.

    A look at Versions of driver in HP provided images VMware ESX/ESXi http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/software/vmware-esxi/driver_version.html shows that net-bnx2 - Version - 2.2.1l.v50.1 - 1 & net-bnx2x - Version - 1.72.54.v50.2 - 1 are both included in the image of the building.

    VirtualConnect firmware is version 3.15

Can someone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it?

    See you soon

    Guy

You must start the server blades with the "HP for ProLiant Service Pack CD" to update the firmware of the NETWORK adapter.

Online firmware updates are also possible (using "Smart Components"), but unfortunately not for the network adapters.

See my HP & VMware links page for the relevant download links.

  • No active network adapters found in the Windows Task Manager?

My laptop under WinXP SP3 does not connect to my wireless network. It worked fine until 3 weeks ago. The laptop thinks it is connected to the network but when I look in the Manager of tasks, and it sees no network adapters. I changed my wireless network card, tried another router, reset WINSOCK (winsockfix), scanned for malware with windows-kb890830 - v4.3(nothing_found) and nothing seems to help. Everything else on the computer seems to work very well. I don't have a windows boot disk to reload windows (mobile bought refurbished didn't come with the disk). Can anyone help? It would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

You can try the troubleshooting provided in the link below steps to fix the problem.

Your network adapter does not work and Windows XP does not include a Compatible driver for the network card

Trying to help a friend with their laptop!  It's a Lenovo R61i laptop model A 8932, 54, around the age of 16 months.  WIN/XP SP3 is the only OS.  He was working on this wireless network until they are gone on vacation and tried to connect to public wireless networks! Their daughter portable computer continues to operate properly with this wireless network, and it also shows the neighborhood wireless networks as well.  The R61i has a built-in 'Pro\wireless Intel 3945ABG Network ' wireless wireless adapter.

Connectivity and internet access works very well through the ethernet port.

Here's what I've done so far:

He has Norton AV.  I made sure that it was up to date and then ran a full system scan.  It was clean.

Any help will be appreciated, and I WILL ANSWER about the results!

Windows Update ran (after I got it work - see below) for all critical updates.

Fact a "repair" on the wireless connection with these results:

    • Wireless networks detected
    • No wireless networks were found in range
    • Windows could not finish repairing the problem because it is impossible to perform the following action: connect to the wireless network

That when the laptop is 5 feet of the wireless router.  It is a Dlink
Updated the driver from Lenovo web site by the support of the Intel boards:

    • former pilot was 11.1.1.11
    • new driver is 12.4.0.21 with a date of 04/03/2009

Went into the BIOS and reset the BIOS to its original, saved and reloaded settings.

Checked the Device Manager.  Everything looks OK, no yellow or red devices

Remove the network card and let Windows re - create.

Disabled and enabled the network card

Check the event logs.  The only entrance is on the system log.  I don't know if this event log entry is significant or not, but it's here:

I would add that "Windows Update" was also not working. Graduation: A few updates have not been installed.  Error code 0 x 41. I had going in downloading and installing the latest version of Windows Installer 3.1, version 3.1.4001.5512

Do not think that there is a relationship between these two issues, but stranger things have happened.

The laptop has a 3-year extended warranty and I'm about to throw it in the face of Lenovo as a hardware error.  The thing that blows my mind is 'Detected wireless networks' followed by 'no wireless networks were found in range ".

    Hi Shawn

Thank you for your help.  Here is the final solution to this problem.

The "clean boot" you suggested worked as described, but it had no effect of awareness of wireless networks.  Ditto to start in "Safe Mode with network.  We took the laptop to Office Depot; They basically ran the same tests that I did, with the same results.  Their technology has managed to get it to connect to Wireless store by manually setting, but it would not show under 'view available networks '.  He suggested that we call their 800 support number.  The only novelty with that phone support guy came was to "Ping 127.0.0.1" which I don't think inherent in the wireless somehow.  He wanted me to call Comcast to check the internet connection.  Under the principle of "do not create a new problem while you're working on a problem", I resisted to go here as two other computers work fine on this connection from Comcast.

We finally opted for a full charge of Windows.  This included a blue key on the laptop at boot to bring up "Rescue and recovery", then by specifying 'Restore my hard drive to the original factory condition' and "don't save all files" - we have previously saved the contents of "My Documents" on a USB key.  This charge really don't take as much time as I thought he might; only about an hour.  Most importantly - WIRELESS NETWORKS APPEAR NOW; and connect as it should!  We had to apply SP3 as reloading he brought back to SP2 status.

I guess the lesson here is that sometimes he just reload Windows is the shortest possible solution to some of these mysterious problems.

I had a hard time to convince me it was a hardware problem, when the system detects wireless networks but are simply not them!

    Thanks again for your help.

Network adapters: Microsoft Windows Mobile remote adapter causes the Windows 7 upgrade to fail.

I did everything to prepare for the upgrade. The Upgrade Advisor says it all right. But I get the message that this network adapter is a problem. It does not appear in device menager even under hidden objects, so I can't uninstall or update.

It is obviously a problem for more than two years. Why is there not a difficulty now, or at least a well validated response that meets this situation rather than simply repeat the statement to execute the Advisor (done) or update the driver (which is impossible because the card network can not be found)?

    Hello

    You can try these:

    Step 1:

    a. click the Start button.

    (b) in the search box type devmgmt.msc and then press ENTER.

    c. find under the "Mobile Devices" "Microsoft USB Sync" node. If this is not present, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, right click "Microsoft USB Sync" and choose "Uninstall".

When you connect your USB phone, it should appear in the device under Mobile Device Manager. Education invites you to look out there and if you find Microsoft USB Sync, uninstall it. If she is not there, go to the next step.

    Step 2:

Disconnect, and then reconnect your device. Your device driver will be re - install and launch Windows Mobile Device Center.

    Hello

-Recently, I reinstalled Windows 7 Home Basic using a CD as my portable computer has detected an error in which it is stuck to the Startup Repair. Reinstallation was successful, but then I noticed my laptop was not connected to the internet and found out that in the "change map settings" only the Bluetooth network connection is displayed. Before reinstall, I normally see 4 adapters here, 1 for Bluetooth, 2 adapters for wireless connections and 1 adapter for wired connections. I tried looking for solutions but no permits. I tried to open Device Manager, and only 2 Bluetooth devices appear under network adapters. I noticed in the category other devices, there are Ethernet controller network controller. Please help on what to do.

  • To connect to a shared folder between PC - error Code 0 x 80070035 "network path not found."

I have a client with 8 computers on a workgroup network.

Among youth, 2 computers not talking to each other or to connect to shared folders on the other drive. Both computers will speak on other computers on the network (wireless).

I looked at all the solutions that have been validated for the message Error Code 0 x 80070035 "network path not found." and none of them have solved the problem. I can't ping one computer to another. I noticed that when troubleshooting on the PC (both are desktop windows 7), 'client' that when I ping the other PC it returns an IPV4 (192.168.x.x) address, but when I ping another PC on the network returns an IPV6 address. I tried to turn off IPV6 adapter in the network adapter settings. It made no difference. I searched several 6to4 adapters in Device Manager, but only 1 exists. Turn it off did not seem to make a difference. As I said, both PC's are accessible by other computers on the network (wireless), but they cannot access each other.

Restart both computers several times (including cold starts and stops).

The only one I don't have not tried yet is releasing and renewing the IP address on both.

    Any suggestions?

    Well I fixed it myself.

In this case, there was a number of things I've done.

First of all, I checked to make sure that the firewall is not the issue. It wasn't.

Secondly, I checked the network connection to see if it has been set to the office network. One of them was, and that we have tried to connect to a was created for the Public network. Who changed the network and restarted.

Who has not solved the problem.

Finally, in desperation more than any other thing, I restart the network modem.

Guess what? That fixed the problem.

So, I guess it was a problem of ARP table or some other problem. When I tried to ping from the "client PC' on the shared drive PC, the IP address was 192.168.1.65. When I got the customer go to the drive shared PC and check the IP address it is 192.168.1.69.

Restart the modem and the "client PC" has solved the problem.
