No display physical drives in the H700 built-in Bios utility

I really hope someone can help out me!

I have a R310 with the following:

PERC H700 integrated Raid Controller (in the riser 2)

4 x 500 GB WED5003ABYX (supplied with the Dell R310)

24 GB RAM PC - 10600 in 6 x 4 GB DIMMS

Bios R310 is 1.12.0

H700 package is 12.10.1 - 0001

The server was using software raid S100 before and needs to have installed on it so a H700 integrated Raid Controller has been installed in the mounting location 2 CentOS.  The H700 utility only allows to erase the configuration (that there is no) and set security for drive encryption.  When you ctrl-n to see your physical readers, there are none.  The other virtual drives options appear dimmed and you cannot select them from the menu.

The R310 bios is set to ATA and show all 4 drives in the bios.  If you set the RAID bios and enable the S100, disks raid controller all show them in the S100 utility.  I tried to configure the H700 by using options in the R310 bios without success.  I put the bios R310 for RAID / ATA with readers off and auto and none of the drives appear in the H700 utility.

Is there a kind of newsletter to withdraw as in the S300 version?  I saw a card in the slot in front of Mount 2 storage.  I tried to boot UEFI and BIOS without success to try to get the H700 to see the 4 SATA drives that bios R310 and the S100 can see.  Is there another place that the S100 may have to be disabled without counting the R310 BIOS?

I hope this is an easy fix and I'm a noob for overlooking something blatantly obvious.

Hi Mengchih,

You can refer to this part: X394K, 1 SAS connect for HDD power cable 4.

I can't check on you, are you able to access the BIOS of the controller H700? I gave a check for part No. # you gave, it is not in the list of the R310. Did you buy it from the sale of Dell?

  • Share files of comments (physical drive) to the host offline

    Hi-

My guest operating system on laptop XP 32 bit on a 2nd disk, host is Win7 64 bit on the main HARD drive. Goal is to have a shared drive on the prompt that is visible to the host as a mapped drive. This works very well with Bridged when I am connected with a router. But often I'm offline and need a way to still have access to the comments of host shares. I tried NAT and could do not appear to access the actions of comments from the host.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    LWK301

    Hi LWK301,

    Welcome to the forums.

If it works through the bridged network, it should also work with the NAT. It could be a problem with your firewall on the host. Try disabling the firewall on your NAT connection when you're offline for a first test. If it works, then you will need to allow sharing of files over this connection.

    Good luck.

  • Unique virtual MACHINE fills physical drive twice the size of the virtual disk allocated

I have a VMware workstation 8 that is configured with a 600GO of (non-allocated in advance) disc. Workstation 8 is running on Server 2008 R2. The virtual machine has filled a 1.28 TB drive full of files hard VMware with the naming convention "VIRTUAL_MACHINE_NAME-000001 - s001.vmdk" that increments until completely to "VIRTUAL_MACHINE_NAME-000014 - s301.vmdk.

I also have 14 snapshots. What I find interesting is that I have 14 snapshots and then my files hard increment from 000001 to 000014, so I kind of think that each snapshot file (.vmem) is attached to each set of files hard. Before delete those associated with the shots that I need is no longer, I wanted to check that they are in fact attached together.

My proposed remedy strategy would be a snapshot of delete (say 12) and delete all the files in VIRTUAL_MACHINE_NAME-000012 - sxxx.vmdk.

I understand this well, that doesn't sound like it will work?

    Welcome to the community,

I understand this well, that doesn't sound like it will work?

No, never remove all hard files manually!

The snapshots see you in the Snapshot Manager associated with the files (00000 x) and once you delete a snapshot in the Snapshot Manager, the data in these files are merged into their parent folder. For example if you delete snapshot 9, data will be merged in 8 snapshot, so most probably more these snapshot files. If you want to save disk space, you must delete the snapshots starting with the left-(closest to the basic disk).

  • Correspondence letter in a car with physical drive

I know that there must be a simple way to do this. I have 5 SATA drives on my Windows 7 system. The startup disk (c) and one other player (e) are 150 GB WD Raptors. Two raptors are connected to the mobo SATA1 and SATA4. But how do I know if the C: drive is on SATA1 or SATA4? All can see in Device Manager is the drive S/Ns. In disk management, all I can see are the drive letters and drive type, but not the S/N. I know I could turn off, disconnect one drive to the mobo and see what happens when I reboot, but I was wondering if there was a way to find the OS.

The only other way that I decided that it would be possible to find out is to use the BIOS to examine the S/Ns and try to boot from each drive using the BIOS and see what happens.

Thank you, but I thought about it in different ways, in case someone is interested. You click the drive properties in Windows Explorer. Then, you click the Hardware tab and click on the legend of the road. For a WD Raptor 150 GB (or name) legend looks like:

    WDC WD1500AHFD000RAR4 ATA Device

Then click on the properties button then the Volumes tab. Then fill Volumes and you have a correspondence of the legend of drive and drive letters. The legend of the player also appears in the BIOS, and you confirm that you have developed matching the correct physical drive with the drive letters and the SATA port.

  • Display card driver issue (Digital Signature of the unverified driver)

In Device Manager, I have a question, marked by an icon of yellow exclamation next to "ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics" under the heading "graphics cards".  When I right click and go to properties I see the message: "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent... (Code 52) ».

My graphics card is built into my motherboard, which is the GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H Micro ATX AMD.

I have not install my own drivers, I let Windows 7 install drivers for me.  What do you recommend to resolve this unsigned driver issue (e.g. should I look for an ATI driver perhaps?).

Uninstall and reinstall the card program and features. Steps to follow

    i. Click Start and select Control Panel

II. in the Control Panel double-click the "Programs and features" icon

III. here you can find all the programs and items that are installed in Windows 7.

IV. to remove the adapter click once on the program and then click Uninstall/change, and follow the prompts.

    v. install the last driver on the manufacturer's Web site. Download the Windows 7 compatible display driver.

  • Need new display driver for the Qosmio X 500

    Hello
    I have a Qosmio X 500 of 10W.
I should update the display drivers to be able to play Bad Company 2, but the latest nvidia drivers available on the Toshiba site does not solve my problem, and I see no installation drivers uploaded by Nvidia Web site because it says that they are not compatible with my device...
Qosmio series made for the players, so I hope that this problem will be solved as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Hello

Qosmio x 500 most recent model of laptop, and I assume that Toshiba used the latest driver designed for mobile computing. Maybe new version will be published soon.
Page NVIDIA drivers are not designed for laptops, and this is the reason why you do not install this version.

Beware also the NVIDIA drivers. Yesterday, I found the article on bad Version 196.75 driver. The result is a graphics card overheating.

    Hello world

I know, there are several other threads on this topic, but I couldn't find a working solution. I currently have no OS on my DELL XPS 17 L702X. When I try to install from a USB stick bootable Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 I get this error message: windows cannot be installed on this physical drive of this computer may not support the start-up this drive make sure that the drive controller is enabled in the computer's bios menu.

    Hello

I suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the computer to change the BIOS settings and check if it is has updated the BIOS.

Important: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Let us know the results. We will be happy to help you further.

When I plug my portable hard drive to the usb port it does not read and display the contents...

    Hi deaza,.

Ø Have you connected the USB hard drive to the computer directly or you have used an external USB hub to connect?

O trying to connect to another USB port to check if it works?

O the hardrive shows in windows of the computer when you connect it?

    Method 1:
If you have installed security software, I suggest you to temporarily disable the security software and connect the USB and check to see if the same problem happens. Make sure that you enable the security software after checking.

Alternatively, you can try to plug the USB key into a different USB port and check if it helps.

    Method 2:
I suggest trying to launch hardware and troubleshooting of devices and check to see if it helps, here is the link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-to-do-when-a-device-isn ' t-installed-correctly

    Method 3:
If this does not help, then follow these steps:

    (a) remove all your USB devices. Use the safely remove the feature to turn them off.

    (b) open Device Manager and navigate to the section for USB. Uninstall all USB drives. There should be one for each USB port, and then restart.

To open Device Manager, go to the link below and follow the steps:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-Device-Manager

    (c) Windows should re - find all of the devices. If it is not the case, note the error message and let us know.

You can also navigate to the link below and follow the steps to install the USB device.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/install-a-USB-device

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

  • VMDK is not displayed when you add the drive but shows on browse the data store

This may be a simple solution but my forehead hurts to hit my head against the wall and need your expert help.

Environment: running ESX 4.0 with 4 nodes in the cluster.  Each node in the cluster has only one HBA card with double fiber connections that connect to both sides of FC SAN.  There is not a fiber between nodes and SAN switch, so direct connect.  Built two systems to support Exchange 2007 using the CCS.  Using a FC SAN to shared disk space and iSCSI for disk space not shared.

Problem: have added 5 player glow spaces on System #1 using RDM and they appear.  Try to load the same readers in the System #2.  I am able to load 4 readers in the System #2 but the 5th disc (which is in fact the reader 3rd in the series) refuses to show when I added the player.  The change settings - & gt; Add Hard Drive - & gt; Use the existing - & gt; Open the data store and the folder where the virtual machine from the system files and the folder where the LUN mapping lie as they are stored with the system.  But at the opening of this file the LUN mapping in question is absent.  All others appear.  However when I right click to browse the data store outside of the settings and go to the folder where the LUN mapping for the virtual drive and it appears.

    Attempts to resolve:

    (1) have removed the drive and delete system #1 data store and we readded to the system = & gt; nothing.

    (2) removed the disk without delete system data store #1 and it added (thus creating two virtual disks in the file for the system to the same LUN... xxx_3.vmdk and xxx_7.vmdk) = & gt; without success.  (xxx_3.vmdk, nor xxx_7.vmdk appear when trying to add a player)

    (3) tried to use a system not intended within the CSC Exchange cluster, attemtped to add the xxx_3.vmdk or xxx_7.vmdk and both appear as an option.

I am at a total loss.  Do I need to trash the system no. 2 and rebuild?  Is there a problem of possible system configuration #2 that does not allow him to see the two virtual drives?  The #2 system configuration is corrupt?  Do I have to power System #2 power on and off and then try to add readers?  I can the virtual cycle vCenter system?  Or I am much more of a noob that the answer is with myself and I can't see it?  Any help would be welcome.

When you want to use RDM on hosts, please make sure lun the same number on hosts.

for example you have assigned the lun 3 host A storage, make sure that it is also the lun 3 to host b.
