No driver showing

I have a windows 8.1 desktop pc.  I installed Photosmart 7510 drivers from the HP website, but I keep getting error messages saying that no drivers are installed.  I look in Device Manager and there is the question mark next to the printer.  The printer seems to work well.  Can anyone help?

Hey @jonboy123,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you tried to install your HP Photosmart 7510 e-all-in-one printer on your computer Windows 8.1 via a USB connection, but you keep getting the error message indicating that "no drivers are installed. It does not sound like the class of the 8.1 Windows generic driver tries to seize your printer. I would like to work with you today with the resolution of this problem. Please follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Remove the printer:

Please disconnect the cable USB of the computer or printer, is much easier.

  1. Open the display Start by clicking the Windows button on the lower left corner of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on your keyboard to the right of the Ctrl key.
  2. Once the splash screen opens, type devices and printers
  3. Click devices and printers, once it fills to open the folder
  4. Under devices and printers, if you see your Photosmart 7510 just right click and 'remove device' or 'delete'
  5. Then, left-click on any other device, you have in this file. Once the device is highlighted, click on 'Print server properties' at the top of the window.
  6. Under the print server properties, click the drivers tab
  7. Under the drivers tab click any Photosmart 7510 pilots who appear, then select the option remove downstairs. First, select "Remove driver and Driver Package" and then select OK. If it fails to delete, then select Delete again and this time choose "remove Driver only".
  8. Once the device drivers are properly deleted close this window

Step 2: Remove temporary files:

Please leave it unplug your USB cable.

  1. Open the display Start by clicking the Windows button on the lower left corner of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on your keyboard to the right of the Ctrl key.
  2. After the splash screen opens, type 'run '.
  3. Click run to open the program
  4. In the run box, type %temp% , and then select OK
  5. When the Temp folder opens, select the keys Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. We should now bring out in the Temp folder. Then select delete on your keyboard to delete the Temp files. The Temp folder maintains only the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be deleted by deleting temporary files from your system. If a file is still in use in your Temp folder it will automatically pop up with a "skip" option
  6. Once the Temp folder items are deleted, close this file
  7. On your desktop right-click on your recycling bin and select empty recycling bin

Step 3: Reinstall printer:

Please leave it unplug your USB cable.

  1. Can click you the following link to download the appropriate drivers for your printer: HP Photosmart full feature software and drivers
  2. Once the site opens select the download option and allow the download to run
  3. Once the download is complete it will automatically extract 100% and then launch the installer
  4. Run through the installation step by step screens
  5. Choose it USB port in as long as your connection mode when prompted
  6. Just plug your USB cable when the installation screen prompts to
  7. Installation should be done

Please let me know if the steps I have provided to resolve your problem. Good luck!

  • Satellite U940 - SSD drive shows only 11.22 GB

    Hello

    I had a new Satellite U940 - B484 Ultrabook.
The first thing I did was finishing the wizard, then I created the recovery media (using external DVD drive) on three discs 4.7 GB DVD

We have Windows 8 Pro license, so my friend formatted the system and installed new Windows 8 Pro, it seems Miss upward with the pilots decided to return to the status of the plant to find and download the appropriate device drivers.

Even though we got the recovery ended, we have two questions:
Major problem: SSD drive shows the only 11.22 GB capacity!
Minor cause: a device in Device Manager does not work properly!

There is no logical explanation for the SSD size down from 32 GB to 11FR?

Think only entered in my mind was the ability to have the 2x16GB and the RAID (for some reason any) changed from RAID 0, RAID 1. But even if that's true, where Devil can I change to go to?

    > Is there any logical explanation for SSD size down from 32 GB to 11FR?

You have probably installed Win 8 on the SSD drive and this is the reason why you have only 11 GB of free space.
The laptop seems to be equipped with a 500 GB HARD drive and a 32 GB SSD.

I recommend you to check the available on the SSD drive partition table.
You can check in the Disk Management to win 8

    Hi jafrin.michel,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community.

Before you start the troubleshooting steps, I need the information required.

What version of the windows operating system do you use?

    Method 1:

If you are using windows 7, I suggest to perform a disk cleanup and verify.

    Delete files using disk cleanup

  • Hard drive shows almost full but cannot understand why

    Hello

My C drive shows me using 565 GB with a total area of 596 GB so I'm close to running out of space.

Strange thing is that I can't know which uses all the space!

I looked at the size of all files on the C drive, and what follows is the biggest:

    Program x 86: 32 GB

    Windows: 50GB

    Users: 271GB

Which makes a total of about 350 GB, this is far from the projection of 565 GB used when I look at the properties of the C drive.

    So, where's the rest?

I have the list hidden files and I looked at disk cleanup and defragmentation.  I also deleted the files in system restore, but it's all the little things.

The difference, I'm looking for is huge then where is he?

    Max

Control Panel / System / Protection system allows you to choose the amount of disk space to use for the Restore Points. I use 5 GB that gives me about 6 points of restoration.

I can't get all my lost files?

    Here are a few suggestions:

    • Try the drive on another computer.
    • Run chkdsk via disk (diskmgmt.msc) Manager.
    • Retrieve your backup files.
  • Why my drive showing full after having activated the bitlocker encryption? My d drive is 180 GB. only up to 20GB file is available

Why my drive showing full after having activated the bitlocker encryption? My d drive is 180 GB. only up to 20GB file is available.

If you want just a report of chkdsk on your C partition select Start, run, type "cmd" without the quotes in the box and press ENTER. Type chkdsk, and then press the ENTER key and a report, stating, among other things, a summary of how disk space is used, is provided. If you want a report on a partition or one drive other than C, you need to go to this partition. To access F, where F is the required partition you type F: and press the ENTER key.

Copies of the reports from a command prompt can be tricky. Right click and select mark. This allows to highlight the selected text, and then click on copy. You will then open Word, Notepad or similar file, right click and paste. The selected text transfers your Clipboard to open the file. You can paste directly into a response message to the majority of the forums.

    In Windows 7, you can use a command-line high;

  • HARD drive shows less space than it actually is.

So, we have an iMac 2010 and it's on Yosemite. We installed Windows 7 earlier on a bootcamp partition and it worked fine. Well, go ahead some time and I try to delete the BootCamp partition to save space as we never use it. Utility disk I would remove it, but it wouldn't let me not resize the OS X partition to recover the 300 GB used Bootcamp. So I did everything I could think of with disk utility and he ended up telling me that it cannot repair the disk and try the recovery disk. I did and he told me that he had to be reformatted as he could not do anything. I moved everything I wanted and it reformatted my El Capitan USB installation off the coast. I thought that this going to fix my problem, but not the whole HARD disk it's only 700 GB instead of 1 TB. It shows no way to resize or whatever it is. Something that I watch shows only 700 GB, but I know very well that it is a 1 TB drive. How can I get the HARD drive to its appropriate size?

Also, the command "diskutil list cs" shows exactly nothing when I try. He said only "No CoreStorage groups of logical volumes found."

    Please after the release of

    diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

You will be asked your password, that are not displayed to you.

Utility disk and BC Assistant should not be interchanged to manipulate partitions.

  • upgrade hard drive shows old size

I have a HP Pavillion Elite four years old m9500z.  I had a hard drive failure, so I installed a new hard drive.  I did a system repair disc, and then made an image of an external hard drive system.  Everything went very well.  After completed I installed the repair disk, shut down the computer, removed and installed the new hard drive.  The old hard drive was 320 GB and the new drive is 2 TB.  Reinstall it also seemed to go well.  After the relocation was complete I started the computer and everything looked good and has a great.  I checked the 'computer' to see the new hard drive, but it showed the size of the old 320 GB drive.    This computer has Vista and I upgraded to 7, so I did that upgrade disc that is why I made the image of the system.  Any suggestions?

Thanks am... everything worked and all is great!

  • Hard drive shows only 32 GB

    Hello

I own as a HP Pavilion dv6830us laptop w / Windows Vista Home Premium bought a few years ago.  The original WD25 - BEVS hard drive has failed.  I bought a WD Scorpio Black 500 GB WD5000BPKT to replace.  Installed the two recovery discs purchased from HP.  Entering Windows after the restoration, a window popped up and said "unrecoverable error" and prompted me to turn off the laptop.  This would happen whenever I rebooted the computer.  Eventually I realized that this was the program file HP installer which has been the cause, so I managed to access msconfig before the message popped up and disable start-up.  Now I find myself with a Windows installation with absolutely no extra software on this subject.

That said, I was frustrated, but happy to simply reinstall everything.  Then I discovered that Windows displays the hard drive as 32 concerts, with less of a free concert.  I downloaded the update to the BIOS of HP.  Then I downloaded Western Digital Diagnostics software, and under the physical disk box, it recognizes the model and capacity (500 GB).  Under the logical drive box, it shows the file system NFTS, total space 34,37 GB and 1.05 GB of free space.

I would like to know how to solve this problem, as this whole process took more than 2 months and honestly, it's been a nightmare.  If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

The following Microsoft link should help, please remember when to extend a partition, make sure that you have a backup of all your programs and data first.  There is always the risk that something might fail and with what it is your primary drive, you could lose it all.

This link is for Win7 but it is very similar to what you would do with Vista:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-performance/how-do-i-extend-the-volume-of-my-c-drive-in/344b6a36-BCD1-4d7f-B638-3a4d048ecea0

The instructions below are in the provided link and the info of what you will need.

Windows 7 Partitions or Volumes extension

This section shows that you must extend a Windows volume. To do this, we must open the tool of disk management where we can resize our volumes. The following steps will guide you in this process.

    1. Click the button on the Start Menu in the bottom left of your desktop, and then click the Control Panel menu option.

  • new 4 TB drive shows 1,678 TB

I have a HP 2007 d4995t (BIOS Rev 5.08 16/08/07).  I added a new disk Seagate ST4000DM000 (4to).  It shows only 1,678 TB.  I know that the drive is OK (it indicates 4 TB in another cpu).  The controller BIOS SAT1 mode is "RAID".  What is the problem?  Or do I need a BIOS upgrade?

    Hello:

You hardware must meet two requirements for the 3 or 4 TB disks work properly:

    1. you must have a UEFI BIOS.
    2. 4 TB hard disks must be in the GPT format.

Please see this document on the link below. Please check the following information which may help to explain why.

    http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c02826744/c02826744.PDF
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/297800

Your machine is about 6 years old, you can't find a suitable BIOS, but you can put it in a box outside and using Windows 7 or later for the GPT formatting.

    Kind regards.

Personally, I would be interested to see what disk management says on the disc. Right click on my computer > choose manage. In the left pane, click "disk management". The content will grow in the right pane. Make a written note or a screen shot showing both used and free space.

  • When I insert a CD, the drive shows activity by the flashing, but the CD does not work

I can get it to display video files and clicking on them, get them to run, but I can't get the disk to run it as it is supposed to. If I put the drive in another machine, it wil open to a screen that shows the options to choose from, by clicking on an item will take place that point and, therefore, the entire disk can be explored. I had heard that Microsoft had removed the autorun installation and initially, guess that's the reason, but I've learned since Microsoft had allowed the installation to be replaced, and so had done through Microsoft, so I always use the autorun facility.
