No games on my new Vista computer.

I have Vista and there is no games. Is it possible to install just the games from the CD?

Hi Batiste,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft answers Community Forums.

To activate the built in Windows Vista Games follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Click on Control Panel and click Classic view in the left pane.
  3. Click programs and features.
  4. On the left pane click enable the Windows feature to turn on or off.
  5. In the Windows features list, select games and put a tick in the box.
  6. Click Ok

Check that the games on Vista should be back on your computer.

It will be useful.

Thank you and best regards,

    Hey tprefling,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

Right-click on the zt.exe file and choose "Run as Administrator" to launch the program.

See if you are able to play the game.

If this does not work, turn your computer to clean the start State and see if the fgame plays very well.

To put your computer in a clean boot, follow these steps:

Note: If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    1. sign the computer by using an account with administrator rights.

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    5. click OK and then click on restart.

For more information about the clean boot, see the link below:

In addition, change the size of virtual memory and see that helps. For more information, see:

  • Try to install the NEW Vista on computer with forgotten password

I have a laptop Acer 4520 who gave me, but cannot be used because the password was forgotten/lost.  I bought a new Vista Home Premium (full version), so I might just wipe the drive and start fresh (I don't like that I will lose everything).  (He already has Home Premium on it).

Here's my problem.   Even if I try to start with the loaded Vista DVD again, it does not recognize it.  No matter what I do (hard to start, boot from the DVD drive, etc.) it always goes back to the = sign in the page where she wants the password.

I'm really not a novice usually when it comes to software... and have reformatted other computers a long time.  It's my first experience with Vista, then maybe that's where I'm lacking in knowledge.

Please, help me to start again with this laptop.

    Thank you

Try hit F8 at startup and try to go to Safe Mode. If not, see below.

At this point, I would recommend that you take a computer with a good reputation, local technician.

the laptop contained Home Basic windows 7 (64-bit) and I want to install windows vista Home premium (32 bit) on a bootable partition that it will be possible to do or tell me the parallel method to move a certain 32-bit operating system...

After thinking about the answer of Mr. Smithers, I found the solution.  I have a USB mouse... so instead of buying a new mouse, I unplugged the mouse, plugged return it in and instant... change the jump and do not pick up improved maps.  Then I shut down the computer, unplug the mouse, rebotted the computer, plugged the mouse back after all was upward and ready to run on the computer... SUCESS!

Thank you for the help... everything works as good as when it was new.
