No HARD drive during installation Satellite C series

Hi people,

I'm trying to fix my laptop the son, who crashed suddenly and has since stopped working.
On the attempt to start, I barely go beyond the BIOS before it published any number of hard disk error.

When you try to reinstall windows 7 or use my recovery disks, they proceed as planned until its time to actually look at the hard drive and the options are empty.
I've tried the drive on other laptops and no luck.,.

Can be found on the disk drives under Device Manager, it cannot be found in disk management. (win XP)
He appeared in via windows disk management 7, but it was in mode offline, uninitialized and UN formatted and not allow me to fix them.

I'll buy a spare drive tomorrow for him,
But I would get this old goes again and try to recover lost data (and use it as an extension for my part ;))

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Hello

If the HARD drive is faulty, I don t think you will get the files of HDD damage.

Of course, you can try to recover the files. Try the free as ware tool + Recuva
http://www.Piriform.com/Recuva

You can connect the computer HARD disc using external SATA to USB controller.
Maybe the laptop detects the HARD drive connected to the USB port.

It is probably because you have a hard drive Serial ATA (SATA) in your computer.  These drives did not exist when Windows XP came out and so no drivers for this type of disc can be found in a regular Windows XP don't install.  Windows makes allowances for that by inviting you to press the "F6" key at the beginning of the installation process, but then you must provide the SATA drivers diskette (no other medium will do).

  • Windows 7 does not recognize the new hard drive during installation

My Pavilion hard drive died.  I ordered a new identical and it arises.  Windows 7 starts to load (since a key USB as my DVD died a long time ago) and gets it Windows on the screen asking me to select a player.  But there is no choice to drive in the menu and I can't go any further.  Is the new drive dead too?  Someone suggested that I need to reinstall a 'chip game' and if that's the problem, how to do that?  Thank you!!

I'm glad that the hard drive is seen now.  To the extent where the DVD player, if you have purchased a new DVD player for the laptop, and you have it installed, then there is something else involved here.  In this MANUAL, it seems that it is just a simple operation change out.  Must be another reason it does not work or is recognized in the BIOS.

Windows 8 does not see the hard drive on the A200.
    How to install it?

S strange Windows 8 should already contain the HARD drive controller driver to recognize the HARD drive during installation.
The HARD drive is visible in the BIOS?

Do you use the original disc from Microsoft of Windows 8?

  • Can I use 2 hard drives on the Satellite A200-1YX

Hello, who knows if it can work 2 hard drives on the A200 1YX.
In the manual is written there are 2 locations for hard drives, but it says that for some models of Satellite A200.

Can I use 2 HDD on Satellite A200-1YX?

As mentioned by user above, different Satellite A200 series are present on the market.
Some supports 2 hard drives and some as a single HARD drive.

But both series are equipped with a second Bay I recommend you simply remove the cover plastic that holds the second HARD drive Bay and check if the HARD drive connectors are available.

    Good bye

  • Can't see the new hard drive on my Satellite Pro 6100

I bought a new Toshiba 40 GB hard drive for my Satellite Pro 6100.
I installed it in the Bay, but it is not recognized in the BIOS, or when I try to reinstall using the recovery disk!
Bios recognize that there are in the car, even if it is not formatted?
    I'm missing something?

    Thanks in advance

    Neil

    It should work!

The reader should also be recognized that even he is not formatted...

    3 things you can do:
At the start you can go in bootmenu and check if the drive is recognized on the 1st controller.
If this is not the case, check the configuration of the drive (master, slave, CSEL).

If this is not enough to check the toshiba support website and download the latest version of the bios (probably you already have, check as mentioned above)

If this does not work your new drive (or worse: your controller) could be faulty. If the reader of the Moose still work on your laptop, check the 40 GB drive to another laptop or PC with adapter ATA connection normal.

  • How to partition the hard drive in my satellite M40X-189?

Please can you advise the team?
I would like to have the operating system and application programs in a partition and the data I've created in another partition.
Please can I have advice from the team?
Has anyone partitioned the hard drive on their satellite M40X-189 and what software did you use to do the partitioning?
Also, I just defragged my hard drive and the card reader can be seen at: http://www.seniorvalues.org/drive%20map.jpg
I am curious about the above provision given that free space if 52%, but white space does not reflect this and there is a piece of defragmented files and folders around the middle of the big whitespace at the end of the training I was expecting to be adjacent to the last great defragmented file.
    TIA

    Hello

I use partition magic to create and manage new partitions. In my opinion it of the best tool if you want to work with partitions.
I have 2 partitions on my unit. C for OS and D for the 3rd of data and files. In this case if I recover my unit only the first C partition will be formatted.

Hay @ all. My name is ahmet.

I'm from the Germany. I have a problem.

I bought a toshiba laptop and I think it's a very good laptop.
But I don't like Vista. It uses to much space, much grafic and a lot more.
So I tried to install my old windows XP Professional sp2. Here's the problem:

During installation, Xp procres say there is no hard drive.
Hmm, I thought I should have a look on other forums. There, they said to integrate a sata driver on the xp cd.
But I don't understand the using nLite to use.

Could you show me how I had to reinstall my old XP?
I have a lot of files to my laptop and I change some settings in Vista so that I could not use internet.
If I want to reinstall vista with the recovery cd, it would remove all folders, photo ect.
I use only my other old computer.

I would be very happy if you could help me.
Thank you very much!!! If you have an answer I would be too happy

    Hello

The nLite is a freeware program that helps you to integrate the SATA (Intel matrix Storage Manager) driver in the original XP operating system.

If you want to know how to use nLite software, then glasses a bit.
There are many websites that explain how to use nLite.

(Driver SATA) Intel Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

Last month, I created a new XP CD using the nLite.
I've included a few pilots, SP2 and some patches it of really not very difficult.

As I said... Scope of protection is a key ;)

  • Satellite A200 PSAE6E: no HARD drive during the installation of XP

    Hi Vandeven,

I have the same laptop that you are, but I have difficulty to get Windows XP to recognize the hard drive.
It keep saying there is no hard drive detected.

    I don't have a floppy drive either.

Is there another way to install Windows XP without the SATA Driver?
My bios is 2.10 and I can switch to a different bios it wont let me. Keep saying bad Bios!. But isn't.

Please help as I am sick and I tried Windows Vista...
    Programs slow and inconsistent.

    Thank you much in advance.

Why you n t use the forum advanced search option and search for similar topics?

Installing driver SATA doesn't concern only the A200 series.
On most new notebook Series SATA, driver installation is necessary.

In any case if you want to use the search option, then you would find this Toshiba document:

    Hi all
I need help with my laptop, please...

    My problem is,
I have a notebook by Satellite A200, and the operating system is Vista, am not satisfied with Vista at all so I bought a Windows XP bootable CD... When I tried to install it it gave me a massage that he could not recognize my hard drive...

I checked the Web from Toshiba site and downloaded the files from the storage for XP Manager as someone told me it could be the SATA problem and you must apply on your hard disk for XP will see it?

    The question is:
    How much is real?
How can I install XP on my PC now?
can I install Storage Manager while I'm on Vista and then install XP?
I put the Storage Manager on a CD and boot from it?

am really confused because when I extracted the Storage Manager and view the files I found the setup button and a few other folders, and I do not know what those to use because I don't know what is my hard drive... and any help will be much appreciated

Thanking you a lot in advance

    Hi abu´s,

Here´s a suggestion: Please use the search function in the forum because this subject has been discussed about 1000 times!

Here´s a link to a thread were talking about installing XP on their machines with the need of the SATA drivers. Furthermore, it is important to doesn´t if you have a different machine, the procedure is always the same:

  • Satellite Pro U300: Cannot see the HARD drive during the installation of XP

Due to the restrictions of the network must downgrade the operating system on a new satellite Pro U300. I am unable to run the XP + sp2 cd as it says there is no hard drive installed on the machine. I guess it's because I need 3 scsi drivers or third-party raid.

Does anyone have these or know a place where I can get my hands on them? Or am I completely off the mark that you have another solution?

    Hello

You need the Intel Matrix Storage Management utility for the management of your local storage, including the RAID support.

On the European driver Toshiba page I found Robson tea for Vista package which includes the Intel Matrix Storage Management utility.

The same can be downloaded from the Intel page for the XP operating system.

I found this on the page of Intel:
    http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go %21

Something similar is described here in this thread.

  • Satellite U500 - where to get a new HARD drive during the warranty?

    Hello world

I bought my Toshiba Satellite U500 some months in London, and a few days ago my hard drive starts to give me a such difficulties that do not correctly read and given the weird sounds. And finally at boot up to yesterday, its giving me this message "Pri Master hard disk: extended S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and replace, press F1 for cont...» »

Now, I realized that I need a new HD and that one is not usable. What I was wondering, is it possible to keep in touch no matter what service provider Toshiba in order to get the new HD cos this machine is almost brand NEW.

Can someone give me an advice what to please, it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Edward_4,

I agree with you. You need a new HARD drive as soon as possible because it s not recommendable to record data on a failed HARD drive.

In any case, it should t be a problem. You must contact an authorized service provider and explain the situation. Technicians can order a new HARD drive for you and Exchange. This should be free, because your laptop is under warranty so it s age of a few months.

On the Toshiba site is a list of all s ASP. This seems to be your interlocutor ;)
