No internet connection after wipe system

OK, so recently, I wiped my Alienware X 51 R2 to its default state of factory, but once the system itself wiped completely to its default state of the internet connection did not work. Apparently, the internet connection problem was caused by a problem with the wireless adapter, I don't know what the problem is with the wireless adapter.

I tried to solve the problem, but that did not help and I used the alienautopsy program to analyze the hardware systems but everything was fine. I also checked in the Device Manager and everything rolled up very well here also, so apparently by what I can tell there is nothing physically wrong with my wireless adapter.

So, if somebody knows what's going on with my computer and how to fix it, help would be very appreciated!

(I have a Windows 8.1 btw)

If you expect to see 9 connections when you click left the Internet next to the battery icon on the bottom of the bar of the screen, then that would be wireless.    IF the computer is off line without seeing any other connections, you must be connected with an Ethernet cable. Looks like a problem with wireless.  If it was a problem with the Ethernet cable, the first thing is to ask if you have a cable connection with special protocols, as a name and password, or.  phone call to your ISP can clarify if this was a problem.

1 check out the switch airport connection.    If the wireless connection is set to.    Windows 8 may sometimes have a problem with these devices to vote does not correctly.

2. try to return these two going back and forth, giving a minute or two for the OS to see the change and see if wireless starts to see possible links.  Even restart between the evolution of the position of the switches.  (? which resembles a waste of manoeuvre of the silent time.)   It is therefore preferable to three before performing reboots.

3. right click on the connection icon, choose ' Open network and sharing Center", where you can find things in turn also power off and reset the wireless connections.

4. you can go to the Dell website, with your Express Service Code and find specific downloads for the hardware in your computer, where you can find Wireless, which Alienware technology recommended that you try to reinstall, as well as the other driver for the Ethernet driver.  Once you have a downloaded copy that you know how to find him, then we can reinstall that over and over.   As well as the network driver.   Spades, just download them all.

5. I know that for me, because I always support, (and I live in the United States) so I can call the Alienware Technical Support, who really know what they're doing and can probably talk you through all of this, or if you have a wired Ethernet goes, they can remotely you and fix it without having to worry about this.   Alienware Tech have been great to fix things that I messed up.   I hear rumours that they are not so big in other countries.

VoIP means "Voice Over Internet Protocol". Have a read of this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voice_over_IP for a little more in detail.

Any OS with a proper application should be able to use it. Skype is a typical example, there are others.

  • No Internet connection after system restore

I had problems to open Windows Live Messenger last night, and I tried to do a system restore, as I noticed there were a couple of updates that have been installed throughout the day where I suspected may have caused the problem.

I went back to a restore point from the earlier in the day when I heard that Messenger was working. Of course, Messenger open instead of crashing on startup.

Unfortunately, I am able to connect to the Internet. Network connections settings say it's "id" my wireless network, but nothing changes. Is no longer, I get an IP address. I have other computers on the network that connect without problem.

I tried to install a Wireless N USB adapter and the problem still remains. Finally, I gave and did a complete restore to factory settings. Good news is that I can now get a connection. Fortunately, I had my backup files.

Research online, it seems that many people seem to have had similar problems, but not after a system restore.

    drusecord,
First thing is to update your network drivers for your system.  Then see if after the update of safety, you have a problem.  If you do, I would do the following:

    Disk error checking

    System File Checker

Then if there are updates that you already have, but are always available to consult this information:

  • Difficulty of internet connection after Security Tool Virus

My mothers computer caught the security tool virus.  I finally had to reload Windows XP and Windows XP now works, but I can't connect wirelessly to the internet.  She got ahead through Linksys.  When I look under the modem it says connection cable to cable.  I'm assuming I erased the other information that I need to connect on the internet.  Any help will be appreciated.

Here are some ideas of the fallout that occurs in your Internet settings after some infections have been deleted and how set things straight.

Depending on how you removed the infection (the removal procedure is well documented), sometimes there are a few other things to do later.

Some malware knows that you will try to get in the Internet to try to find a hair removal method if it adjusts things on your system to prevent you to do so.  Even if you delete the malware using several analytical tools, tools cannot tell if the Internet settings have been modified by malicious software or put you that on purpose so he leaves the only parameters (and your system cannot connect).

The malware hope that you will not be able to understand these things and give up and just reinstall your XP, do an install repair or by using a Restore Point.  Sometimes it breaks these things too, but you can usually remedy without the use of one of these methds (which aren't really patches at all)...

If you have reinstalled XP, this may not apply to your situation, but it would be a good start:

We will check your network connection properties.

Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your disabled Internet access.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Inetcpl.cpl

Click OK to launch the Internet Properties Control Panel, choose connections, LAN settings.

Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.

These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.

On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.

Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checked

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings.  On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.

If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.

On the general tab, click Properties.

In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically.  Select the following two options:

    Obtain an IP address automatically

Get a DNS server address automatically

The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer and test your connection.

If it still does not work, check your settings are still in place after a restart and then release and renewal IP of your network device configuration settings.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window, and then type the following commands:

    ipconfig/release
    ipconfig / renew
    output

Restart your computer and test your connection.

If this does not work, follow these steps:

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

  • Lose Internet connection after sleep/standby/hibernation Mode

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion Elite e9105z CTO Office and migrated from Win XP to Vista Home Premium x 64, with a NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller.  Whenever I come off standby or standby mode, I lose my Internet connection and have to restart my system or run Windows Network Diagnostics to repair the network adapter settings.

I tried several remedies available on Internet; but unfortunately, nothing has resulted in a permanent solution.  I contacted my service provider ISP (Mediacom) wonder if it was / is a problem with the firmware used to my cable modem SBV5220 support (for example, incompatibility with Vista) and they said there is no.  So far, I have:

    1. Reinstalled NIC driver.
    2. Power options controlled and reset with USB CDC.
    3. Apply the update for Windows Vista (default gateway setting is lost) for x 64 systems (KB933872) - response that update does not apply to the system.
    4. Reset the IP configuration via the Cmd line.
    5. Tab power, unchecked the box that shuts down the adapter then power save comes into play.

Access the computer several times a day and having to reset Internet connections became extremely aggravating.  I hope there is a solution.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Back from a 3 week stay, during which my office has been extinguished, my local internet connection would come is no longer active when he came out of hibernation.  The without line worked, but the local connection would not work unless physically, I unplugged the cable from the router (Netgear) and reinserted it.

After several days of frustration, I went into the Manager of devices, unchecked ethernet optional adapter "allow the computer to turn off this device."
This seems to have cleared up the problem, at least until now...
  • interruption of the internet connection after installing vista sp2, only a local network

    Hello
Since I installed vista sp2 last week, I have no internet connection. Just, my laptop connects to the local network. I had already tried to uninstall sp2, but this does not resolve the issue. A restore of the system has not been successful (do not know why, windows just said failure of system restore). I also deleted my antivirus program and my firewall...
The internet works occasionally for a short time and when I start in safe mode.
Because I live in a House that I have to use a fix ip, gateway and dns. After you install sp2, windows says my default gateway does not match my ip address and subnet mask when I change the properties of TCP/IPv4. Using another laptop with XP, the internet connection works with the same settings.
I would be grateful for a quick solution, without formatting ;)

I've highlighted the TCP/IPv6 line of course ;) the button was inactive when even
in the registry, I saw WHAT TCP/IPv6 is already disabled

my internet actually works, but I don't know why
I deleted the file DisabledComponets for TCP/IPv6 in the registry, rebooted, create one, rebooted and it worked
but I do not know why :)
I hope that my internet is still functional

Can someone tell me if it's a failure caused by the BIOS update or I would return laptop to John Lewis for repair? Thank you very much for reading this

    Hey Buddy,

The default settings in the BIOS load after update? If this is not the case, go into the BIOS and load the default settings. You can enter the BIOS if you press F2 before Windows start and then press the F9 key to load defaults. Then save & exit the BIOS Setup.

You can access the Internet now?
You try to access the Internet with LAN or WLAN connection?

Also check device manager if all devices are recognized correctly.

    > I did not yet create rescue disks, but if I try to create them now I'll be able to restore to factory settings?
You can create the Toshiba Recovery disk every time. Just launch the pre-installed Toshiba Recovery Media Creator and follow the instructions on the screen. You need just a few blank DVDs to create the discs. Disks contain a factory image of settings which can be restored each time and how many times you want to so with these disks, you are on the safe side ;)
