  • How to add "Add to selection windows media" to the context menu of the Explorer in Windows Vista 32/WMP 11?

Hello. I am currently looking for a way to queue files flv and mp4 in WMP 11 in Windows Vista. I used to be able to do with Shark007 Windows Vista installed Codec, but I recently replaced it with a combination of ffdshow, Haali Media Splitter and open source Flash Video Splitter; This combination has been recommended as being superior to my old codec pack.

I found a similar topic and solution, for Windows 7 / WMP 12:

Someone knows how to adapt the solution here for use with Vista?

Copy-paste all below into Notepad and save it as FLVMP4Enqueue.reg. Then double-click on this file to add it to the registry. After that, you may have to reassociate the FLV/MP4 files with WMP, via Control Panel - default programs .

  • MY WMP MUSIC FOLDER HAS DISAPPEARED FROM THE MENU OF THE BLU - RAY

I recently bought a Sony BDP-S790 and connected to my wireless network that currently has no attached internet. I was then able to access libraries Photo, music and video from my computer to the player. Only folders for the Photos and videos appear now. When this happened several days ago, the tech guy Sony told me that updating the software could solve the problem, and he did - temporarily. Now the problem reoccured and my music from WMP icon folder disappeared again.

I called Sony support three times today and spoke to three different people, none could help me. The first guy insisted that I must have an internet connection to stream multimedia content from my computer. Fake! The second left to perform research and after a long wait, we have been disconnected (probably the goal). The third is left looking for the problem, and at this time, I had had enough and hung up.

This is what has already been tried:

    1. the music in question files have been verified as WMA

    2. the unit has been unplugged and restarted

    3. the streaming Windows Media Player settings and my computer have all been verified as correct

As I said, I can always access folders of Photos and videos, but the whole music WMP folder disappeared. Can someone please help me with this, before I lose my mind. I can't take another call to technical support.

I just tried an experience. I copied a dozen music albums to my public folder and changed the WMP to access this folder only. Then I rebooted the player and now my icon music took over. I guess the problem was the amount of music files in my WMP music library. Now I guess it's just be a matter of adding albums slowly until I have find how can I have before the well system. I wish I knew about this limit before I bought this property.

  • WMP 11 library size limitations

Is it possible to increase the size limit of file of 1 GB for the database of WMP 11 "CurrentDatabase_360"? wmp file

After a bit of research online, it seems that this limitation is the reason that prevents the addition of music files over to my WMP WMP library.

If there is no way to increase this limit, do anyone know if WMP 12 will have the same restriction?

    Thank you

  • How can I have two separate libraries in WMP?

I try to have two separate libraries; one containing only the Rock and the only classic containing a single?  I created a new library called Other Music, but I can't link files to it.  When I click right there no library management.  It also does not appear on the menu drop-down organize - manage libraries.  There is also an icon titled "Other libraries", but it does not.

How can I implement these two music files so that I can display separately from the other.  The help of WMP does not receive me close this issue.
Please direct me to a solution.

    Hello

There is no direct option for Windows Media player to have 2 of the library. However, you can add folders to the library where the player controls music.

You can create several playlists as you like, that you can use with Windows Media Player.

  • WMP-11 / WinXP Media Sharing error - HELP!

Two PC, both with WinXP SP3 Home on them.  A desk, a pro audio (& much faster).  But the sharing of multimedia files from WMP - 11 does NOT work on the faster Pro-Audio PC; It hangs for about 45 seconds when the box is checked, then recovers, but shows NO results to select from.  It will do this several times.  There is also a NEW unit of Panasonic Blu - ray wireless streaming and a pioneer of the NEW network 7.1 surround receiver on the network.  The 'desktop' PC sees the BD & receiver & allows them to be selected in the sharing of multimedia files.  The BD player sees the network and can ONLY play files (jpg & mp3 only, dammit) to the Office PC, but will NOT be connected to or see the Pro-audio PC either.  The Pioneer receiver does NOT show it sees PC EITHER although it should and still iTunes on the PC Pro-Audio sees the receiver AND my sound card (MOTU Traveler Mk3) pro and will play to / thru either (yay iTunes, WMP-11 Boo)!

OK, Yes, the system is a bit complex, but quite impressive with a projected screen of 92 "w X 52" h. also. "  I tried following instructions to automate & and/or start Win connected services / nobody to charge on wmpnetwk.exe (of WMP Network Media Sharing (EXE), but nothing.  I even completely removed & reinstalled all MS .net Framework (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0), but am always errors using MS-implementation to date for new installations.  I'm really starting to think this life Techno is complete rubbish, and I need to ' drop the electronic device and just leave quickly. "  Too bad I'm thousands of $$ in it, and have a lot of hours-life lost to it already.  No matter what other geniuses out there who can tell me how to solve this mess?

Well to set up WMP sharing open WMP, tools, options, Library tab, tap on the

the button "configure sharing" & edit. Also, look in the devices tab, L.click on the

material, press the tab properties & edit...

WMP is a utility called "WMDiag.

Download this from microsoft, it tests WMP

In addition, removing & reinstalling the software such as .NET can / will cause major BONE

    problems...

WMDiag creates several large reports, which none did tell ME what it is.  I'm not a programmer.  You don't mention where to send these reports to be decifered for help.  Difficulty of MS it don't find problems or correct them, and in the last two tests, he reported that he "encountered an error & could not continue", sending me to a non-specific solve this site (I've had NO idea where to go from there).  A large PART of my experience of MS's tail-chasing and dead ends.  The team of Bill Gates should start again with a SIMPLE operating system that will work with all existing software (too simplified, but a good idea).

In the end, I spent 4 days of eight hours, trying to solve these problems: not .net Framework package would update via MS up-to-date and sharing the media would HANG about 25 seconds when trying to put on the March (then would produce NO result).  Most of this time was looking, trying some different procedures suggested on the ballots of Ms.  It was excrutiating and a gigantic waste of time.  It could have been resolved in an hour, was easy to find... good info but it really wasn't.  Too many paths, & many people having the same problem.

Finally, with the help of .net cleanup tool and other processes long regsvr32.exe command line, I was able to fix the Windows Update system files, reinstall all .net Framework 1.1 to 4.0 and incredibly stupid boring packages, finally got each update offered by MSUpdate installed.  Curiously and fortunately, which also fixed the problem of sharing of media files.  WMP - 11 now allows sharing and recognizes the wireless Panasonic BD-streaming player AND pioneer in network receiver/amp.

Since MS Answers seems exclusively designed for people with problems MUCH more simple (like how to follow instructions), where should we do when they have REAL problems in the system that NEED to be repaired as soon as POSSIBLE so normal work can continue?  I've always been very frustrated with the interface 'Help & Support' offered in the start - menu, it has generally been quite worthless (Googling is preferable).  This .net of all penalty framework update that many know should have been handled by MS much more quickly & efficiently.

There are many more, but I'll leave it at that since I have fixed my problem. -DMS

  • folders and files wmp 11

Newbie asks: why Media Player keep rearranging mp3 files and folders, even when I specifically create and copy files in a different folder, they are all eventually duplicated in the original folder?

And the question of $64000 - why any version of media player is not a Cancel option?

In WMP, please go to Tools - Options - library (press Ctrl + M, if you don't see the Tools menu). Is Rearrange music in rip music folder... checked? If this is the case, unchecking it and clicking OK should prevent WMP to move your MP3 files. Tim Baets

  • E280 v2 plays a track and returns to the menu music

Hello.  I bought a v2 e280 a few weeks ago, and the unit worked fine until yesterday.  I use Windows Media Player 11, and XP v2 and WMP 11 both recognized my e280 each time, until yesterday.  The problems are many, but the main thing I notice is that when I select a playlist for playback, my e280 will play a track (usually the first one) and then he comes back to the music menu.  When I try to pass through the screens of reading to see the next song, I won't get it even the screen (it justs gives options Timer, EQ, and album art).  Forward > | button has stopped working properly as well.  I have the old firmware 03.01.11A and tried to update the firmware.  My PC stopped recognizing my e280 yesterday as well but I couldn't understand how to upgrade the firmware without this recognition.  Now the power button for 15-20 seconds just seems also to power on then off.  Oh, and I removed all the tracks in my GoList, thinking that maybe the problem.  But that solves nothing.

And when I say it worked fine until yesterday, I mean it sync with WMP11 as a breeze, addition of playlists and titles I had created in WMP11, read playlists with random and repetition, and had no problem with the music downloaded on Amazon or CD.  Until yesterday.

Did you add any music or do something different with the unit yesterday?

The 1st thing you'll want to do is update the firmware. This can solve the problem in its entirety, but even if it is not it will make it easier to deal with. In addition, the update adds a nice touch and bug fixes. You can read "what's new" in the post firmware.

Check out this post for instructions on upgrading your f/w. There is a link to the version firmware inside post. Let us know what has changed or is the same, after that, you (and also if you have said or done anything, just before this happened that could have caused the problem).

  • Y at - it a codec that will allow swf files to play in WMP?

original title: reading of SWFs in Windows Media Player

Y at - it a codec that will allow swf files to play in WMP?

When you try to play your local .swf files in Windows Media Player, you probably will be greeted with a message saying that your Internet Explorer security settings do not allow this type of file to open (ActiveX control). This is due to the fact that Windows Media Player uses its own security Internet Explorer security settings. Therefore, these .swf files will play in Internet Explorer; the reason being that the Protected Mode is DISABLED when a local disk file is opened. But Windows Media Player makes no such concession, all ActiveX controls are not allowed.

The problem arises in the Lockdown of the area feature Local computer. Windows Media Player must load the control of Flash Player to play the SWF file. But this lock prevents the automatic loading of the Flash Player control (remember, all orders are considered dangerous in WMP)!

However, do not despair. This problem can be easily solved by a simple change in the registry. There are two ways you could do it - choose the one that you feel most comfortable with.

Method 1 - automatic registry change (use if you have never used before registry editor):
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open a new Notepad document. Copy and paste the following two lines of text to the blank document...

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Lockdown_Zones\0]
    "1200" = DWORD: 00000000

Save the document as "wmp_swf.reg" (the .reg extension sets the file as a registration entry). Save it in a directory of your choice. This could be the office or in your Documents folder. Close the Notepad window.

Now, navigate to the file to the location where you saved it just. Right-click on the file and choose "Merge" in the menu. Windows may ask permission to continue, click 'Continue' or 'OK '. That's all! Windows Media Player will now play all your local .swf files without complaining.

Method 2 - manual registry editing (for the more experienced users of the registry editor):
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open the Registry Editor (IE run "regedit.exe" and give Windows permission to continue).

Browse your way to the next folder...

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Lockdown_Zones\0

In this folder '0' (zero), look for the entry "1200 REG_DWORD 0 x 00000003 (3)" in the display pane.

Right-click on the '1200' and choose 'change... '. ». Change the value to highlight '3' to '0 '. Press OK. The entry is now shown as "1200 REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0)» Close the registry editor.

This simple procedure to now Windows Media Player read the local .swf files.

Now you have finished this fix, it may be useful to change the opening program by default for your .swf to Windows Media Player files. I find it more convenient than playing them through Internet Explorer.

  • Problem VLC media player - option of the context menu "add to vlc media player playlist" disappear in the selection of multiple files.

OK, here's my problem. I installed VLC. It works very well. I have 'Add to playlist in vlc meadia player' on the pop-up menu file.

PROBLEM: If I select more than 16 files and then "Add to vlc meadia Player playlist" disappear from the file context menu.

ANNOYING: This stupid Windows Media Player is still there.

QUESTION: Why vlc disappear from the file context menu if I select more then 16 files but wmp doesn't?  Is M$ trying to force people to use WMP?

I also did my OWN program and he added in the context menu, and I discovered that my OWN program has also 16 files limit.

Why windows deletes non MS program context menu, if I select more than 16 files? How can I solve this problem? I want to have my custom context menu program, even if I select more than 16 files.

  • Windows Media Player-how delete the audio files in the WMP library and add album art

How can I get rid of dublicate on WMP songs? How can I get all the cover art?

To make WMP automatically look for the cover, make sure retrieve additional information from the Internet are checked in Tools - Options - Library (press Ctrl + M, if you don't see the Tools menu). The only add missing information option is recommended.

Regarding duplicates, I suggest that you try to reset the media library. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

    -Restart the PC.
-Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. If its status is started, double-click on the service and click on stop.
-Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
-In this file, rename the old Media Player like Media Player folder. If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
-Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt. Check if the problem persists.
