No more windows aero

Hello

I thought that it be a good idea to install the lenovo system update program to help me find drivers for my W520 up-to-date. So I did exactly that, but after I rebooted the laptop, my aero feature was turned off and spent at the base.

I tried to select a theme with active but it does not work. I used the windows aero troubleshooting, and he told me that the desktop window manager is turned off and color depth is set too low. I checked the services that are running and its says that the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager is started. Also, my color depth is already on the 32-bit true color. Ive tried to reinstall my graphics card with the latest drivers drivers but it does not solve anything.

I do not know which installed this update tool but its causing problems as my workflow is to windows aero. I'm too lazy reinstaling this machine because that will kill the program installation and very valuable time to get all my applications reinstalled. Any help? I have Setup 4276-2What with a supplement of 4 GB of RAM and an OCZ 60 GB SSD for the OS and 500 GB HARD drive in the optical Bay in stock. I also have a battery slice.

Thank you

Hello.

Sorry for the late update, busy. I managed to understand what the problem was. I had one installed proggram called iDisplay which allows an act of apparatus android or ios as a secondary monitor. As soon as I closed this program (accidentally), aero returned to the computer. He is now back to normal... my bad. It appears to require windows 7 basic to work properly. This is also true with maxivista.

  • Windows Aero in Vista

I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit.  I recently had a clean reinstall made, and although I have not noted at the time, it seems that the 'Aero' feature did not work since then (can't swear to this, but it certainly doesn't now).  When I go into the Control Panel/window color and appearance, there is no option for Aero from the drop down.  Only standard Windows and classic.

All other references to Aero in any other part of the Panel are missing.   I started to do a reinstall of Vista but have not found a "repair installation" version stopped until I did before I made things worse!

Any ideas?  Are just the Aero files missing?  My chart "score" in the Windows Experience is 4.8, so should be fine for Aero and drivers have been updated.

  • Windows Aero partially stops working

I had a recurring problem with my Windows Vista Home Premium where Windows Aero partially stops working. Some of my open windows lose the glass effect, and some of my tabs look effect. As far as I know, the 3D Flip feature still works in these situations. I wonder what I can do to avoid Aero lose parts of its features... the behavior is strange to me, since I would expect Aero is working completely or not at all, but this isn't the case. In general, I noticed this behavior so that I have more than a single open window and either close an app full screen or return to windowed mode. I read that a sfc/scannow might help restore the Aero feature if it has stopped and I am currently in the running process, but I would avoid the problem altogether, so that must not be repeated in the future (assuming it works).

If it makes any difference, I have a 1 GB Nvidia GeForce 9800GT.

  • Effect secondary theme of Windows Aero

    Hello

I can see tear of Windows Aero theme to disable. The tear went once I enabled the Aero.

I heard that Windows Aero consumes GPU resources and resource memory, it will also slow down the system.

I just want to check what is the side effect of Windows Aero theme, such as what is activation of the advantages and disadvantages?

Thanks in advance for your answer!

    Hello

Also known as Aero Glass, aero theme is a set of interface guidelines and design that were introduced by the Windows operating system. Changes affected many Aero interface to interface elements of Windows, including the establishment of a new look, as well as changes in the guidelines reflecting the appearance, layout and the phrasing and tone of the instructions and any other text in applications.

Disabling Aero can improve performance because the dwm.exe (Desktop Windows Manager) takes 28-58000 memory usage k. When we disable Aero IE back to classic mode, you'll find a difference in performance. Not huge if! Because it releases 58K of your storage space. And the animation that is disabled when disable us Aero will have an impact in the Menus load faster.

For more information please see the article mentioned below:

  • improve the performance of office for windows aero score

Desktop performance from my pc to score very low windows aero (2.7)... no idea on someone u me don't suggest any be done... hepatitis a pls

Aero performance is directly related to the capabilities of the graphics chip. This low figure would indicate likely you use edge GUI. If it's a complete desktop computer, so the simplest option would be to install an add on graphics card as even a pretty basic should be able to improve that score.

There is little interest to go to a high-end card, unless ALL the other values in the list of Windows Experience Index are high. You should look for a balance to be more profitable.

Search for the latest drivers on the website of the manufacturer of your video card. Manually search for on the site, don't use no matter what scanner because it and the one in the device manager - driver updates can find old drivers certified, Microsoft is well behing certifying new driver.

If you need help to find them look in control panel - display adapter - device management

Tell us the brand and model with driver Dates and Versions.

Also allows a fast video card but I'd check the driver 1.

    Hello George,.

To turn on Aero in Windows:

To change the Windows Vista Aero color scheme

    1.

Open appearance by clicking the Start button settings, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, customization, and then clicking window color and appearance. If the appearance settings dialog box is not displayed, at the bottom of the page, click Open classic appearance properties.

    2.

In the color scheme list, click Windows Vista Aero, and then click OK.

Once you have enabled Aero, I think this will be easier for you to do whenever you want on or OFF the 3DFlip. You can also open Flip 3D by pressing the keys CTRL + Windows + TAB. You can then press TAB to cycle through the windows. (You can also press RIGHT ARROW or ARROW down to navigate forward one window, or press LEFT ARROW or UP ARROW to navigate to the back office.) Press ESC to close Flip 3D.

Hope this helps you. Make it a great day!
