    Hi nancye22519208 ,

Please right-click on any PDF on your system, then go to properties > under general, you will find "opens with". Here you will see 'change' option, by clicking on it, wil give you a window from which you can choose the Acrobat Standard XI as a default for PDF files.

    Mr President

I have windows 7, after creation of the solid color red & gray icon PDF files, but now the icon has changed to adobe acrobat 7 Professional logo, how do I re obtain the icon or the old logo for my PDF files as the previous icon is very easy to identify, also I used acrobat adobe 7 Professional but this problem was not there.

    Hi manojp35249311,

Acrobat 7 is not compatible with Windows 7, so it's difficult to judge how the application on an incompatible environment will behave.

Please attach a screenshot so that we can diagnose the problem correctly.

How can I change my fill of tru for the pdf file and the sign? It will never change.

In Adobe fill & sign you can add text, checkmarks, an X, a point and a circle and sign documents.  It does not "change" the existing content of the document.  Here is a tutorial: Tutorial: Introduction to Adobe fill & sign

You can't - a PDF security options do not allow control over the number of times the file can be opened, even using DRM.

  • DeskJet 3054 A how to adjust settings for printing PDF files?

I have the printer set for 'quick project, ordinary, black and white paper' - it works for MS Office documents and Web pages. However, there is no adjustment as this one for PDFs, so each PDF document print is on the highest quality settings. How to set it to a PDF file?

    I use a Mac.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You have the same available settings on Acrobat as well:

    1. Open the PDF file, and then click file > Primt.
    2. In the print dialog, click on the printer... button.
    3. Confirm to display the OS dialog box.

You can now find the same screen, including the menu presets.

  • OCR @ background for several PDF files

    Dear friends,

I have several PDF files image / tiff files. a PDF file can have multiple pages. I wanted to do OCR of each PDF file. Manually, I need to do it one by one.

I wanted to perform this task in the background might be a tool that can be run to do OCR for all files and save result files in the specific folder. This groundwork will be executed on a daily basis.

Can this be possible with Adobe OCR tool? OR offer another solution using Adobe OCR.

Have we not all libraries that can be integrated with .net application? so that we can build the tool that can be run in the background.

    Thank you

    Louis

Yes, you can run OCR on a set of files and save them in the folder with the specified names. To do this, follow these steps:

If no file is opened in Acrobat:

    1. start Acrobat and go to tools > improve the Scans

    2. There is a link «or recognize text in multiple files»

    3. on the "recognize text" dialog box, click Add files option and select all the files, you want to perform OCR.

    4. click on Ok. Now a dialog box will come where you can specify the output settings (folder path and file name prefix/suffix)

    5. the "Recognize text - settings' window specify the language and style of OCR output. (Default value is searchable exact Image).

If a file is opened in Acrobat, step 2 will change: toolbar in Acrobat select text recognition > in multiple files

Hope it will solve your problem. Please let us know if something else is needed.

    Thank you.

  • parameters for opening pdf files in acrobat to chrome

    Hi ri1246,

There is no setting to open the PDF file of the web link directly in the Acrobat Reader application. Either you can activate the PDF viewer plugin in the web browser to open the PDF in the browser itself by a simple click, you can download the PDF file on the system & then open it using the Reader app.

  • How can I get Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for open PDF files in their own separate windows?

I find it interesting that in support of multiple monitors becomes more standard in operating systems, applications start requiring all documents related in the same window, such that sometimes you have to use Registry hacks to get documents in separate windows to be able to easily compare side-by-side all multiple monitors.

First it was Microsoft Excel... now, it seems that Adobe Reader required documents in a single window.

Although Adobe Reader at least allows you to click on the "Window" menu and choose "New window" to "move" a PDF file in a separate window (quite annoying rather than actually move the tab selected in the new window, it opens another copy, which requires that you always close the first copy in the original window). I prefer the default behavior to automatically open documents in a new window when I double click on it in Windows Explorer to open them.  At least give me a preference option for this...

Does anyone have solutions of (permanent) workaround for this?  I know there are changes in registry for Excel (that I put in place)... I hope it's easier for Adobe Reader.

    Thank you

    Murray

    Hello

Please navigate to Edit > preferences > General > uncheck "open documents as new tabs in the same window(requires restart). > once unchecked please re-launch Reader.

You would not be able to see the documents in separate windows.

  • How to stop CD to open in maximized view every time, for every PDF file?

I've just upgraded to Acrobat Reader DC the other day. Now, every PDF file I opened, from any source, in any event, opens with the player mode "enlarged". It's about the most irritating thing that I have ever met, Adobe provides no obvious way for it be turned off. The older player did NOT do that.

Adobe is a 'despot' with hogging space on my screen? or is it possible to define this sort the Player opens in a 'normal' view: not maximized and not minimized, each time?

"I tried all obvious settings, such as: open to the"last record"view" setting.  All the options in the preferences... Nothing seems to work!

Please help... it's driving me crazy. I have other windows that I use.

    Thank you.

I'm glad to hear that it worked for you. The above mentioned registry key was a bit hard, so I re-post workaround for everyone's reference.

If you experience the problem with the window in maximized State, here is the resolution-

For key - name "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\WebResource" and the value - "irandom", change the value to 0 x 00001000 in hexadecimal or 4096 in decimal. Of workaround should work until we drive on an appropriate fix.

  • Best security settings for a pdf file which will be downloaded to the digital download site

Hello! I have a PDF form with Adobe Acrobat DC that I would like to offer for sale on Teacherspayteachers and I hope someone can share some permissions restrictions/security settings to make this more protected doc. I read a reread pages adobe on this matter, but its only because not a lot of sense. I'm looking for some give me a clearer answer for better protection. Not sure if this is important, but I work on a Mac and also need the PDF file to open, display drop-down menus and fields of text editable on an iPad. Thank you very much!

    Hello

Once you apply security or limiting parameters to a PDF document in Acrobat Pro ms (desktop application), the PDF document will be encrypted.

Here is the screenshot of the Document Properties dialog box in Acrobat Pro ms

Another screenshot of the dialog Document Summary of security.

Acrobat Reader mobile apps (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) have the known limit where the changes cannot be saved in encrypted PDF documents.  As a result, users are unable to make changes (for example to fill in forms or add annotations/comments) to PDF documents encrypted in applications of Acrobat Reader, even if the document restrictions are defined to enable the filling of forms or comments.

On the other hand, there is no such limitation in the desktop version of Adobe Reader, Acrobat Pro, or Acrobat Standard.

If you plan to distribute your PDF form to all users of a desktop application and mobile, it's best to ignore them apply restrictions or security settings.  Otherwise, the Acrobat Reader mobile app users will find the unusable form.

Can you explain what is your PDF form?  I suppose that users buy your PDF form to fill out, which means that users (not you as the author) provide form data.  While elsewhere in your PDF in the form of content you need to protect?

  • Definition of "First view" options by default for new PDF files

I usually want most of the PDFs I create to open the displayed pages Panel and "adjust to the window. Currently I open each PDF file and change it in the properties of the document under the "first view", save and close.

There must be a better way.

Is it possible to set the default type for all PDF documents that are newly created as part of the definition of job options?

I searched in the components of different settings, but nothing helped.

    All advice appreciated.

The initial view (IV) parameters are not part of the options when you create a new PDF, either in Acrobat or the Distiller.

There are several options to apply IV depending on the version of Acrobat you are using. You can create an Action in Acrobat X that applies IV to any file open according to your needs and possibly save it as well. In Acrobat 9 or an earlier version, you can do a similar thing with a sequence of batch process.

If you need to reach IV in the context of the creation while you can use a "epilogue.ps" script to add commands that Distiller will add to the PDF and link PS file to one of the presets of distillery distillers.

Lori Kassuba has a blog post about this method.

  • Workflow for editing PDF files program

Can anyone suggest a good application repository with the approval workflow that will allow editing of a pdf document without having to download the pdf file and download after marking? The workflow should be sent by e-mail to each reviewer in sequence, so after the first examiner makes a change, the e-mail will then automatically, go to the second reviewer; and so on.  I tried SharePoint, but editing within the browser does not work, and editing with acrobat requires the pdf to download locally.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Dale2333,

It's not possible to edit the PDF file online, you will need to download the PDF and then modify it using Acrobat.

    Kind regards
