Hi DeeN59,

1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

2 when was the last time it was working fine?

3. you receive an error message when you start the computer?

Check to see if you can boot into safe mode in the Advanced menu options or the last good known Configuration.

  • Satellite Pro 2100 won't start at all - LED flash

    My SP2100 began to have feeding problems and now won't start at all. The AC adapter green LED is lit, that are relevant lights on the body of the laptop (although the "battery charge" light always orange these days). When I try the switch on, startup begins (in fact succeeded on occasion until this morning), however the battery indicator and the adapter lights are flashing, and everything stops again.

    On the rare occasions when I'll be past this stage, lights blinking, and the system soon shuts down again with a screen message "low battery." Until this morning, he would sometimes settle, the computer remained on, and the lights showed a State of equilibrium as usual.

    Initially I thought that the problem was of course the battery or the AC adapter, but now I'm starting to think that it is with internal PSU of the laptop (although I suspect the battery is probably tour after all this part of loading and unloading).

    Any ideas?

    Hello

    I think you're right. Flashing LEDS are a sign that hardware is defective.
    I can't say what exactly is the problem, this should be verified by a technicain.
    On the other side I don't know if it's worth to repair such an old machine.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Hello
    My poor mother is quite upset! Its Satellite L30 PSL33E just died.
    It completely off and now won't start at all.
    Orange light flashes six times when you press the power button.
    No hard drive, fan, screen or any other noise / activity.
    She tried without the battery.
    A kind of hardware failure, I guess.
    Any ideas what this blink code means?
    Thanks in advance,
    D.
    I put t know what the code means, but you can read it. short means 0 and 1 long
    In any case, the error code means that a hardware failure has been detected on the motherboard and motherboard replacement could help you?
    Why?
    because what is really hard to fix a motherboard for laptop very s.
    It especially not possible if you n t s have sufficient knowledge, experience, and special tools.
    I think that either you contact the ASP in your country and ask a difficulty or you'll have to buy a new laptop ;(
    Hi KevinRy,
    Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!
    Unplug all external devices.
    Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.
    Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:
    1.
    Right-click my computerand then click Properties.
    2.
    Click the Advanced tab.
    3.
    Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.
    4.
    Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.
    5.
    Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.
    Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.
    Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.
    Kind regards
    Amal-Microsoft Support.
    6 Lightroom unbootable after an update... I reinstalled the software, but it still won't start? Updated through the creative cloud but still does not start?  What should do?
    My computer is a PC with Windows 10.
    Everything worked well before the Update Adobe Lightroom 6.
    The software was purchased in a shop (FNAC) with software to download map, it is saved in my account (Adobe) with its serial number. Why is this so difficult thing to reinstall Adobe software?
    I apologize for the inconvenience.
    Since it appears and disappears from the Task Manager, it seems that Lightroom crashes.
    We have seen this kind of problem on Windows 10 when Visual C++ Reditsributable 2012 update 4 is not installed correctly, it is necessary to run certain programs. You might have encountered until now Adobe programs that require it.
    Otherwise, there could be another cause of this accident and if C++ installation does not help, then you need to share the event viewer crash logs. See this article for in crash logs: Photoshop Elements Editor Help. How to find the crash logs on to Windows
    Don't listen to anyone who has you said that.
    The best way to speed up your computer is to eliminate startup items which are unnecessarily run at startup.  Go to start | Search and type msconfig and then see what is running at startup and what other services are underway then as well.  You can eliminate selectively and then evaluate how fast your computer runs.
    If you can tell us exactly what you see, chances are that someone has seen and knows how to solve this problem.
    When you start mode without failure and the system crashes, which is the last line that you see on the screen (blah, blah should not be the answer).
    Tell us something about your system:
    What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
    Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
    The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)
    The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?
    If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?
    Have you installed a new hardware or software before this affliction?
    Was there something wrong before that lock in question, and to try to fix things, has taken a chkdsk or verification of disk errors?
    While you wait, I think you should make you a bootable CD from the Console of the Recovery XP (no XP media required) and get your started on that system and run a chkdsk/r from the XP Recovery Console.
    Here's how:
    If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.
    This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.
    You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.
    The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:
    xp_rec_con. ISO
    Download the ISO from here:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig
    Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:
    http://www.ImgBurn.com/
    When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.
    Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:
    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61
    It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.
    You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.
    When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:
    Press any key to boot from CD...
    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.
    Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.
    Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)
    You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).
    You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the
    C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.
    The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.
    For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true
    A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.
    In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.
    Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.
    Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:
    CHKDSK C: /r
    Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.
    It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.
    You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.
    Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.
    You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.
  • Windows 7 won't start on Satellite L650
    Hey,.
    I went to turn on my laptop this afternoon and windows does not start. I get the loading screen animation, but nothing happens. When I restart, I get the option to repair windows - but when I go in, all I get is a black screen with a white cursor.
    I tried the following:
    -Switch on my computer and now the F8 - nothing happens, I just get to the screen asking me to repair windows or start normally
    -Engraving of windows Recovery Center 7 on a CD and it works - nothing happens, black screen with white cursor
    -Turn on the computer while pressing the 0 to get to the system recovery - again, nothing happens. The black screen, white cursor.
    It is only 3 months old so it is still under warranty, but I prefer not to have to take it to a service center because I need for work, and I can't do without it for more than a few days.
    Any help or advice would be appreciated!
    Thank you
    Hi Mas_007,
    Welcome to Microsoft Vista answers Forum!
    I have a few here that might solve the problem.
    A.) Firstly, I suggest that you start the computer in safe mode and check if you are able to boot without any problems, safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed that, follow these steps to start the computer in safe mode with networking:
    To restart the computer using safe mode, restart the computer and press the F8 key for about four to five times. Appears in safe mode listed in the advanced options of Windows. Select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
    (B) I suggest that you perform a clean boot on your computer, to help troubleshoot error messages and other issues; You can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
    The following link has steps showing how to perform the clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
    (1) perform the clean boot (check the link to perform the clean boot)
    (2) enable half the services
    (3) determine whether the problem returns
    (4) enable half of the startup items
    (5) determine if the problem returns
    (6) repeat the steps above until you find out which program or service is causing the issue
    After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.
    Note: Please make sure that the computer is configured to start as usual by following step 7 of article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.
    (C.) I suggest that you perform a scan of the file system [SFC] checker on the computer, the scan replaces the failed system of files with the original files from version of Windows on the computer system, follow the steps below to perform a scan:
    I suggest to empty the temp folder and later, follow these steps:
    i. Click Start > type % temp % in the start search box > press on enter > delete everything present in the temp folder.
    1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
    2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
    3. at the command calls, the following line and press ENTER: sfc/scannow
    When the analysis is complete, test to see if the problem you are experiencing is resolved.
    Additional information: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212
    Hope this information is useful.
    Let me know if it worked.
    All the best!
