No restore points available after reboot on Win 7 system

My system restore does not automatically create a restore point and does not keep a restore point manually defined that after manually setting the restore point, it goes away after a restart. New computer with Windows 7 Professional. Put a lot of space on 500 g hard for the restoration of the system.

Hi Jerry,

You have a dual-boot option on your computer?

Locate the service associated with the restoration of the system or Volume Shadow Copy Service is started after the computer is restarted. This service can be stopped by some viruses as well, so you can try to run a scan of your computer.

To check the service

1. click on start

2. in the start search box, type Services

3. click right on - RUN as ADMINISTRATOR

Check if the below mentioned services has mentioned State and type start.

Shadow copy volume started Automatic\Manual

Also check the dependency services that are required for the System Restore Service run.

To verify that double-click the service, and click the Dependencies tab.

This service must be started before the restore point is created automatically or manually.

Try disabling the firewall and windows temporarily on the computer security software and then try to create a system restore point and check if that helps.

Follow the articles given below to change the settings for the firewall and security software settings

If you are able to perform the system restore after you disable the security software then you will need to contact the software publisher for the security of the software and check.

Hope this information is useful.

  • NFS (inactive) (not available) after reboot

I am doing an internship on VMware. We have 2 guests ESXi, both have mounted NFS NFS 6.4 RHEL Server storage.

Firewall Server NFS turned on and blocks everything except NFS. When my hosts are running, I have no problem.

The problem is that whenever one of the hosts restarts (maintenance, HA failover,..), the NFS storage becomes inactive on this machine.

When I then disable the firewall on the NFS server, the mount becomes available again on the ESXi host. When it is available, I can activate the NFS Server firewall on.

Is there a way I can prevent/solve this problem?

Original title: IL SAID AROR MESSAGE CANT CREAT RESTORE POINTWEN I ADD FEATURES

    MARKTRAVIS

    Hi Mark,

I appreciate the efforts that you put to publish the query on this forum.

However, it would be better if you can provide some details related to the query:
    (1) is there a third party security software installed on the computer?
    (2) there the restore points that are created on the computer before this problem?

System Restore automatically recommends the last restore created before a significant change like installing a program point.

To store restore points, you need at least 300 megabytes (MB) of free space on each hard disk with the system on Protection. System Restore can use up to 15 percent of the space on each disk. As the amount of space fills up with restore points, System Restore deletes older restore points to make room for the new.

You can also follow these steps to increase the memory allocated for the restoration of the system:
    (a) press Windows and Pause Break to open System Properties.
    (b) click on the System Protection option.
    (c) click on each disc.
    (d) click on Configure.
    (e) check if the allocation of memory on each hard disk is allocated.

The settings above, you can also check if there are restore points available on the computer. Click System Restore, and check if you are able to find restore points.

To solve the problem, if you have installed a third-party security software on the computer, I suggest you temporarily disable and check if it solves the problem.
Important note: Security software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Please let us know about the status of this issue.
  • No available to my current date restore point?

Day before yesterday, when I was reviewing something on the net, my computer suddenly froze. After waiting for a while, I rebooted my system manually. After the reboot, everything has become pretty darn slow. Windows XP loaded slowly and took almost 10 minutes to get it, and now the system itself is slow.

It's happened before and what I did system restore.

But this time, in the system restore menu it is not all other dates available at the current time, "on 14 November. I tried to restore the system at the same time, but in the end, he showed "restoration incomplete". yesterday I tried to restore it showed that 'Nov 13', but now even that is not available.

I have seen many other threads and they said it may be due to a lack of space in C: (D: in my case) but I still 5 GB 19 GB in D:

From what you describe, and if your system has a malware infection, I would be cautiously optimistic one of your old Restore Points available or if they become available, I wouldn't use them as they also my being infected.  In situations like this, it of better just to clean up the mess, to stabilize and start again with a new batch of Restore Points that you know are not afflicted.
Please provide additional information on your system:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

When you say you restarted your system manually, does that mean you used the power button or pulled the plug?  (sometimes, it is what you have to do).
The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
Have you ever used third-party applications on your system where the product description includes descriptive as sentences:

  • System Restore utility cannot restore to restore point

I am under Windows XP SP 3 and have a disconcerting problem.  (SR) system restore will not restore my system to an earlier time.  SR is activated and creates automatic restore points every day, and I can also create points of restoration on request.  But when I actually try to restore the system to one of these points, the RS utility is unable to do with the useless message that it was impossible to restore my PC to an earlier time and no changes to my PC.  I suspect that some interviews I've done recently is the culprit.  I downloaded and installed a maintenance of Uniblue software, including Registry Booster and Rescue Disk.  The first is an optimizer registry/cleaner and my PC doesn't seem to work faster as well.  The latter is a disk defragmentation tool, and when it runs, it displays the names of files and folders, as it reorganizes.  I noticed it was the defrag the System Volume Information folder, including RPxxxx files, which of course contain restore point information.  (It is my understanding that the System Volume Information folder is not available for normal Windows interface and how this tool is there to do for maintenance is a mystery to me.)  But since I have used these two tools, the RS utility has not completed a restoration successfully.  It doesn't matter if I try to restore to a prior restore point or after the time when the interview was made.  I can create a restore point and immediately try to restore it with negative results.  I uninstalled the software Uniblue, but that did not fix my problem.  How can I overcome this severe limitation and recover the critical capacity of system restore?  Thank you very much...

I've never seen Vista for more than a few minutes, but it is a fairly common problem with XP.  It is usually not a problem to Microsoft at all.

(You are in a group XP... Vista forums are here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsvista)

Here is my copy/paste standard for an XP system with the problem described by capehaze13 above.  Maybe it will give you some ideas or to reflect:

Some tools AV 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.

For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:

Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...

It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:

    http://Service1.Symantec.com/support/sharedtech.nsf/pfdocs/2005113009323013

Depending on what you use for malware protection, you will maybe disable the product temporarily, make the system restore and then turn on the product.

Sometimes, you will need boot mode safe, and while that your protection programs do not, then do the system restore.  Microsoft refers to this in some of their writings too and it works sometimes favorably (do the system restore in Mode safe that is).

Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.

Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.

No matter what you use, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/

    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

It can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues.

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

  • In Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x 86 system restore points.

    Hallo,

After decommissioning Win 10 pro, I want to create upgrade with before restore point. I want to create with repair system initially upwards.

There is no restore point created. I was lost a few important branch in my outlook file and I should restore my PC in time before the upgrade win 10. I can t create appropriate restore point.

I can create restore point until I was downgrade Win 10 pro.

    Please help.

    Igor

    Hello

You cannot create a restore point today for yesterday, last week or last month, etc.

It's past history and you cannot re-create these settings now.

Either the date/s Restore Points you want are already made and are available, either they no longer exist due to limitations on the amount of space allocated to system restore.

You do a restore point now to use at some point in the future to return to the settings of date and computer today from tomorrow, next month, etc., if you have a problem in the future.

And Restore Points have nothing to do with the data; they are for the parameters of the computer, etc..

Before doing any upgrade of the operating system and also for everyday use, you should always at least 2 your data backups caused to the external media in case of corrupted system files or hard drive failure.

    See you soon.

  • Dates of the Restore Points are one month in advance

For reasons I don't understand, the date of the day on my computer was changed to one month before the effective date, for example from May 13 to June 13, 2013. As a specialist, I kept getting messages that my Microsoft Security Essentials were outdated. Later, I discovered that all the restore points created after May 13 are dated June 13. I corrected the date and have updated Security Essentials and things are back to normal, but I have several restore points, a month in advance. Restore recent points are correctly dated now, but what can I do on these wrong, before the restore points. Thank you.

If the pc works fine, then 2 options:

1 turn off the system restore, which will remove all items, reboot, restart System Restore, and a system checkpoint will be created.

    2. go to disk cleanup, use the tab options, System Restore, cleanup, it will erase everything but the last system restore points.

  • How to restore a System Restore Points

Hi, Im because my Sidebar does not work because I accidentally delete some files of it so I search the Web for fix but it does not work with me so my last string is the restoration of the system, but it was deleted when my Sidebar is very good to have a problem with my Vista Im hoping I can still restore my system February Restore Points is Possible? Thank you

If you mean that you can recover restore points dating back to before those listed when you view available restoration done the answer is no.  Once they are deleted, they are gone.  Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear. The only exception is if you do full image backups and a version that includes the restore points, you want to have.  You can then restore the backup and get to those of restore points (BUT and this is a big BUT, you would lose anything done since the backup was performed, including your data and installed programs revised parameters.)  You can solve the problem of data by performing a full backup of your data (I mean ALL of your data, not only that of your profile - including e-mail, orthographic processing of data bases databases, etc.) before restoring and then after restore the image, restore the backup data - but you could do anything to solve the problem with programs or settings).  The full image backup is only available with Vista Business, Vista Enterprise and Ultimate for Vista (or if you have a 3rd party installed as Acronis True Image 2010 program).

In fact, restore point files can still be on your system, but the recovery of party 3 tools to get their (assuming they have not already been crushed which is quite likely, given the time) would not be able to identify them because they are not listed with names and dates , but apparently without meaning codes-, then there is no real way of finding Taylor with all other files there.  I do not know if the recovery programs will work with restore point files (they are different from other files).  Maybe a data recovery technician can recover, but they give no guarantees that they will succeed and they cost a lot of money (not less if they come empty)- but the decision is yours.

System Restore uses up to 15% of hard drive you to save restore points and can do it manually, automatically on a periodic basis or with certain functions (such as the installation of Windows updates).  Gives you generally a period of time long enough to work with - most people rarely use those who have more than a few days (because they notice the problems and try restoring the system quickly after that).  You can change (decrease) the amount of space occupied by the restore points as described in the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/reduce-system-restores-disk-usage-in-vista/.  It saves space, but you have less available restore points - it is a compromise.

I hope that this same help if this isn't the answer you wanted to hear.
