  The reader is free. There is no such thing as "Acrobat Reader XI". Looks like you have downloaded "Acrobat XI", which is not free...

  You must use the exact installation file that corresponds to your serial number.

  so, if you the serial number for acrobat 9 pro, you must use acrobat 9 pro installation files, not STDS.  If the serial number is a suite that includes acrobat 9 pro, you must use this suites etc. installation files.

  and if your acrobat 9 pro is an upgrade from a previous version, there are some additional steps required for installation on a computer that does not have a previous version installed.
