NO SOUIND

I get the following message appears when I try to read a file of music with the internal drive of windows:

Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file may be in use, you won't have access to the computer on which the file is stored, or your proxy settings are may not be incorrect.

I checked all devices, reinstalled the drivers and any other idea I could think.  Still no luck.  Help, please!

Hi arblacksmith,

Thank you for visiting Windows Vista Microsoft answers forum.

In the present case can be with the corruption of the user profiles, then you can create a new user account and check if you are able to hear the sound in the user account during playback of an audio file in Windows Media Player.

If the problem is solved with the new user account and then copy the files from the existing to the new profile.

You can follow the steps mentioned in the link to create the new user account and copy the files from the existing to the new user account profile:

Thank you and best regards,
David

  • New Windows 8 connect to a homegroup based on a Windows 7 computer.

I have a new computer running Windows 8 and a residential group based on a Windows 7 computer, two flags of HP 64-bit.  My problem is that, after not having not used for several hours, the machine of Windows 8 does not connect to the homegroup.  The message itself, is that the network address is not recognized.  When I click on the button "Diagnose" the message comes back saying my connection has been refused by the host, I guess this means that the Windows 7 machine where rests the homegroup.

Should the residential group rely on the machine Windows 8?  The connection is wireless and I made sure none of the adapters are disabled in the settings of power on both machines.  The new machine has replaced a Windows 7 laptop which had been in place for 18 months and works fine but on cultivated.

The problem has proved to be a parameter in Windows 8, which enabled him to turn off the different hardware components to save energy.  One of these components has been the network adapter AND the wireless adapter.  Souinds as two different things for me, but they are actually the same thing, so only change the network card like HP told me does not resolve the issue.

My son-in-law has suggested that since the machine is a desktop computer, and I never turn off any way, just deselect all options of conservation of power on the components.  As soon as I put the wireless adapter, everything was fine.

Windows 8 or the way the machine is design for energy saving, all went a little over Board.

  • LabVIEW 8.6 sound and measure suite not installed properly under Vista 32 or 64 bit

I apologize if this isn't the right place for this post, but I need a solution. I recently bought LabVIEW 8.6 Developer Suite with the Suite Sound Measurement and to create a program of NVH testing at my company. I am a newbe to Labview, but I've been a programmer/hardware geek since the days of the TRS-80 model1. Here's my problem. I installed the following developers DVD package on my Office Windows XP Professional and all goes well. I see the following Sound and Vibration Measurement listed under LabVIEW 8.6 able & Automation Explorer, and examples of the Toolbox for work in LabVIEW. When the laptop I bought to do my current job came with a Vista Business Edition 32 bit version installed I found the following problem. On this machine and two other machines to Vista (64-bit and a 32 bit) I tried, the installation does not record the Souind and vibrations under LabVIEW 8.6 Suite and they show Sound and Vibration toolkit as not installed in the examples section. In the Panel by virtue of National Instruments, all 4 machines show the Suite Sound and Vibration as installed 6.0. I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, change in the control panel and reinstall from DVD without change in the result. I really need get the laptop works as it's my real development and test machine. XP Setup is not an option because the machine newly purchased with a high-end sound system and downgrade XP was not available. I'm out of ideas.

I wanted to close what I got it finally works. This time, I uninstalled the audio and vibration of the LabVIEW control entries in uninstall Vista. Then re-installed and now it works. Before there were three entries, one for the suite, one for the runtime and one for the Toolbox. After having removed all three and reinstall it from the DVD, only subsequently arises, and everything seems to be good.

  • ESX 3.5 connected to SAN

Is someone can you please inform me how I connect to SAN?

I have VirtualCenter with two hosts running ESX 3.5 but I like to communicate with the San to the storage.

I already plug 2 HBA cards (model: HP FC1243 4 GB). any driver software must be installed on the ESX?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello!

Well, there are a few steps that might involve a large number of details according to your SAN (including switches and storage devices).  Oh, and do you mean FC SAN or iSCSI?

If you mean SAN CF, then the basic scheme is

    • Material orders (HBAS, cables, switches, storage device) which it souinds like you could have done.

    • Change the zoning.  Most people seem to agree on the areas with a single initiator, meaning that each HBA port is an area with this port HBA WWPN and the WWPN storage device it should see.

    • Create LUNS.

    • Map/mask/unmask or otherwise present LUNS to the initiator which may involve initiating creation of groups or some other combination of server WWPN to allow them to see the LUNS and also assign a LUN ID.

    • Rescan in ESX (click in the VI Client Server-> Configuration-> storage-> Rescan adapters), or the CLI with esxcfg-rescan < vmhba # >

    • Create a VMFS (on a single server) by clicking on the server-> Configuration-> storage-> Add storage and follow the instructions of the wizard

    • A new analysis on the other servers and they should all see the same VMFS

For more information, see http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35u2/vi3_35_25_u2_san_cfg.pdf and docs of your SAN provider.

For iSCSI, there are a few extra steps such as the establishment of a VMkernel port, allowing the initiator (for SW), adding targets that are all covered here http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35u2/vi3_35_25_u2_iscsi_san_cfg.pdf

    Enjoy!

  • The HELP-time acting crazy all of a sudden selection tool

Hi all, audition CS6 is suddenly strange on me! I'm editing a digital audio book and have to shoot the dialogue of a male character from another file open to insert into my larger narrative... raw file so I come and go between these two files a little, but must remain in the place I left on each one... normally, it works beautifully. When I go to show a different file and return to the previous file 'always open', the average selection time remains the same place I left... but all of a sudden, he started the remaining at the time I left it on the PREVIOUS FILE... when I go back to the other file. Wow, let me rephrase that pack that was too complicated. If I'm in, let's say, position 02:14:12 file and then open the file B and copy a piece of audio, leaving the cursor in THIS file at position 00:00:45, when I switch back to file, the time selection tool is now at position 00:00:45, at the place where I left it.  Yet once, it is not used to do this (as in na not to last night even!) I tried to restart the computer, and that it was not fixed. I'm not aware of the evolution of all the settings, but I guess I must have accidentally hit the perfect storm of strikes to indulge in this 'option '.

BTW, I thought it would be the preference-> reading-> return playhead to the start position to the stop (not that I had changed it) but that does not solve it either.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi Melissa,

Souinds as the preference "Synchronize between files" got turned on.  Open Preferences > General and uncheck "sync selection, zoom level and head of reading in all files in the Waveform Editor"
