No sound after changing Vista to XP

I had my - HP Pavilion a6319fh Desktop PC - changed to XP, Vista by a so-called expert.  Everything works fine except no sound of any kind. I tried several different driver downloads, but not luck. The video works perfect, just no sound.   Here are the details of the computer.

I get the message 'NO mixer available. At the bottom of this message is the only conflict that I could find.  I also get unknown PCI device.

Any help that works will be rewarded.

Thank you

Craig

  • Problems with sound after installing Vista Ultimate SP1 on HP Pavilion Dv4

I lost sound after installing Vista SP1 Ultimate on my HP Pavilion Dv4... everything was fine before. Help, please.

Go to the HP support website and search for Windows Vista drivers for your specific model number. Also look for recent updates, even if your PC comes with Windows Vista preinstalled.
    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/support.html

If there are Vista drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the installation card mother/chipset drivers, then the SATA, LAN, Audio, drivers and other device drivers.

  • Re: No sound after install Vista - Tecra M7

I improved my Tecra M7 to Vista (and then upgraded to Vista SP1) but the computer is no longer plays sounds (no music, no sound system - nothing)

I installed the latest Realtek HD driver, I have the latest version of the Bios.

Device Manager indicates that everything is working. "Speaker" icon tells me that his work (the green bar follows the beat of the music)

The volume & button Mute works - I can't get the "speaker" modifying, turning to the top/bottom/inhibition icon. I tried the headphones in and out.

I checked the bios if the sound card has been disabled it - but it seems that there is no possibility to change the settings of the sound card in the bios.

Does anyone have an idea on what I'm doing wrong here?

    Maybe I can help you;

I read on a sound problem after installation of Vista it happened if XP was preinstalled on your laptop and the mute box was accidentally activated.

  • Problem with the drivers after changing Vista-> WinXP on R61i

At first I want to mention that I am new to this forum and my native language is not English (sorry for the mistakes of language).

    Computing: Lenovo R61i 8943 g

    Foreplay:

In the new computer Windows Vista has been installed, but I decided to switch to a Windows XP Professional. There had a few issues with the SATA controller (computer has no floppy drive). After all, I managed to install a new system.

    Description of the problem:

I can't install the drivers to the computer (internet does not - same wired: ethernet, there is no sound, etc.) In Control Panel-> system-> device-> devices Manager there are yellow questions marks (with small exclamation points) around: network controller, PCI Device, unknown device (what is?), video controller, and video controller (VGA compatible).

There is no CD that came with this computer, so I tried to find the necessary drivers on the internet.

    On the page

    Lenovo, drivers and downloads support

I chose [network] to refine the results (first I want to activate ethernet Internet connections) and clicked on

Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet software for Windows XP - ThinkPad R500, R61, R61e, R61i

There is a file 7yra02ww.exe. At the last moment of the installation, the following window appears:

Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet Software for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I don't know if I tried to install the appropriate driver. After I tried to install Access Connections (think Vantage Technologies) of

ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows XP, 2000-computers portable, but it also fails.

Could someone help me what to do (what drivers to install and how)? Thank you in advance. Matthew.

Thank you, Tim_Lenovo. My second post was about a possibility of making the easy instalation, but no one answered. Thanks - next time I'll use the system update

I don't know what you got almost everything square away exactly means (I'm not so good in English), but I think it speaks of my redundant work.

And the solution of my problem is very easy! I installed what it takes and just use the control panel-> power-> advanced options. (I think that my mind needs a rest!). In device manager there is a yellow question mark on unknown device (without power management there are two unknown devices without driver), so I thought that I need an additional driver. That's why I was always looking for appropriate software. A solution was so close to me

I hope that the system update helps a lack of driver for a device unknown (I wonder what it is).

  • Satellite P100 - no sound after installing Vista SP1

The machine is a Satellite P100 just more than a year, came with Vista installed. No problem until today when Vista SP1 has been automatically downloaded and installed. Now I have no sound from speakers or headphones.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver Conexant Audio Hi-Def to the latest recommended on the Toshiba site.

I tried to restore to before the time when SP1 was installed.
I updated the BIOS to the last on the Toshiba site.

    I pulled my hair.

Someone at - it any other suggestions?

It s certainly a useful information. Thanks again!

Does anyone have an idea of how get these drivers to make my laptop works fine with Vista?

    Thank you.

    Hello

This Satellite M60 - BK3 model does not work for me. Where did you buy it?
Try to install a hardware diagnostic tool to know what sound chip and the graphics card supports this laptop.

You can download the drivers from the part manufacturer's website.

-During playback of an audio file, that the graphic equalizer appears normally - that is bouncing up and down with the beat

    Now of ideas!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Buddy

I think I know what could be the problem.
The sound should be set as high as possible before the installation of Vista!

In addition, you should check if the sound wasn't mute runig the previous operating system.
This may affect the sound on the new Vista operating system installed!

  • No sound after reinstalling vista.

Hey, I reinstalled vista home Prem yesterday and when I am done with all my sound does not work no matter what I tried. All my drivers are up to date and I tested my speakers on another computer and they work fine. I ran the microsoft diagnostic program and it came without a problem.  Any ideas why my sound does not work?

    Some features of the computer:

Dell Dimension 4600 - vista Home premium 32-bit
    P4 2.66ghz
    3gbddr ram
Audio device is: SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio and it says it is installed correctly.

    Hello

I realize your post is over two months now and you have probably found a solution, but because the same thing happened to me, I thought I'd give my 2 cents worth.  I have a Dell 1420 and I could get her back by running the driver and Utilities disc that came with my machine. Just look at the audio driver. Good day!

  • Equium A100 - 338 PSAAQE: shortcut keys not working not not after changing Vista to XP

I recently bought a PSAAQE Equium A100-338. It came preloaded with Vista home premium. I removed what I need XP pro. I found all the drivers to get everything works except the shortcut keys. I tried all the drivers available, but none works. Are there other drivers available for the access keys work.

Can anyone provide a url to a site where I can get the driver. Also, why are there no XP driver specific available, it took forever to find all those that I needed. I know a lot of it, specialists and companies that will not use Vista and only allow for XP.

For these features, you have no drivers but Toshiba has designed tools or utilities, but I fear that these tools are not designed for Windows XP Home edition. Not yet.

I believe you when you say that to many it professionals want to use Windows XP Home edition, but if everything works well, but these buttons are not so important to the features of the laptop and any computer can do its job.

  • No sound after upgrade to Vista on Tecra A8

    Hello.

I just upgraded my Tecra A8 to Vista. I used the the repostitory of driver Realtek driver, but I do not get the operation.

I searched by google that and found a help: I need to activate the Stereo Mix in the sound menu. Now, I see the activity in the speaker bar, but again the speakers say nothing.

    Hello

If I you would then I would first check the sound settings in the control panel.

    Click sound-> the Read tab.

In my case the "speakers" are defined by default.
It would be also a good idea to check the property settings.

    I'd appreciate your comments.

    Good luck
