No sound from headphones - Windows 8

Hello, I had this problem for a long time, but I finally decided to try to fix it permanently now. I tried to find a solution to it, and all I have found are the fix drivers Audio Realtek, which did not help at all. When I plug in, I can hear sounds, but its very, very low and the sound is more acute and unclear. My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv5. For any help or suggestion would be appreciated, thanks.

EDIT: My original speakers work very well (when the headphones are not plugged). It's just the helmet that does not work. Also, I tried the 'peripheral off show' in playback in Device Manager menu. No option appeared.

Hello Lirko,

Thank you for the information.

I suggest you try alter the balance of the volume of the headphones.

To do this, follow the steps below:

1. the headset with the mobile Plugin.

2. right click on the taskbar speakers .

4. click on speakers. It will open properties of speakers.

5. click on the tablevels L.

6. click on the tab of the balance .

7 check the status of L and R. The level must be 100 for both L & R.

8. click on OK.

Hope the helps of information.

Please reply with the results, in order to help you solve the problem.

  • No sound from headphones, internal speakers but continue to make sound

I use a HP with Windows Vista Premium. My computer quite aware that my headphones are connected, will play the "ding" sound through the headset when I run the test, and many of the sounds of Windows Basic (for example, the volume control) work with the helmet. However all other sounds (such as music, internet, games, etc.) do not play in my headset but my speakers instead. I tried the solutions found on the forums, but ultimately neither my headphones or the speaker worked so I tried a system restore, and Im back where I started, speakers are working but headphones don't while headphones are connected. How can I fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi AMcKeown

Thank you for visiting the Vista Forum.

Are these USB headset or headphone jack analog standard?

Are plug you into the headphone to the front of the computer or the rear (according to the model of CV, you have, it can be taken helmet two, one in front and one in back)-If you have one in the front and you use that one, the cable that goes from this Jack to the Audio card can be loosened.  Please consult your manual or the owner with HP support assistance on verification of this cable.

If it is a set of USB headset, make sure that the drivers are installed and up-to-date and compatible with Microsoft Vista.

  • No sound from headphones and speakers.

Original title: map its maybe broken

Recently after taking my laptop on a short trip, I put to the top and turned on to find that the sound wasn't working. The speaker symbol had an x close to her and says that no devices were installed. After some messing around, I reinstalled the sound drivers, and now the speaker symbol is back to normal, but acknowledges that my monitor (not my headphones and portable speakers). Because my monitor has no speakers, this does not work for me. I've been trying my brain, tried everything, but nothing seems to work (helmet, not wearing a helmet, reinstall the drivers, active services), and I wonder if this means that my sound card is broken. I had problems with it in the past.

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing.

What is the brand and model of the computer sound card?

Sound problems can be caused by cables that are not connected properly, damaged drivers, incompatible drivers, sound settings, missing updates and problems with your sound card.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56900.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop and perform a "Hard Reset" for your model, as described in the document of HP here.

One when you're done, press next to the key ESC that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards
