No sound in Media Player

I have no audio problem with my browser, but I tried to play mp3 and mp4 files in two media players and or play sounds on a file type.  I ran fix on this page http://support.microsoft.com/mats/audioplayback, but he has found no problem.  One of the media players does not appear in the volume mixer, but the other is certainly not cut.  There is no green and gray bar fluctuating under the speakers/headphones section for each player, because when I play audio in a browser.  I just reinstalled Vista and downloaded and installed all updates.  What could be the problem?

I found the solution here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-pictures/no-sound-through-any-media-player/26ba4c61-d03b-46cc-8bbf-e88225cf8e51.  Not sure how I have not found that I originally posted.

Either by the way, I ran troubleshooting for Player settings reset both, no change either.

I know this isn't a single occurrence since I've had this problem before. Do you have any suggestions?

  • Media Player equalizer

Just bought a laptop Windows 8.  How to set the equalizer/sound in Media Player.  The sound is flat, without stockings, pretty awful.  There must be some Equalizer options n in the Media Player?  Thank you!!

    Hello

I don't have access to Win 8 at the present time to check, but with Win 7, if you do right click on Media Player screen while playing audio\video, you will see a menu with "IMPROVEMENTS".

Place your cursor on it, and another menu will pop up that includes an equalizer and a number of other options...

In addition, your computer does not have a RealTek or other 3rd party audio chip... to do more.

If so, you should have access to an application to change the settings is that would also include an equalizer and many other options...

The mine is located on the taskbar like orange speaker and in the PANEL as "RealTek HD Audio Manager".

  • Portege R700 - sound only in Windows Media Player

I have a R700 with the RealTec sound when you use Windows media player, but not when you try to listen in flash, video, or audio system PC.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Artrek,

What it means that the sound card is properly installed and you don t have yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager?

Hmm generally with each program, you should be able to listen to audio on flash videos I would try an update of Adobe Flash Player. Make sure that you have installed the latest version of this program.

The sound settings, you can check the Windows default audio output device. Make sure that the internal speakers are the default settings.
By the way: If you see this problem with external speakers too?
