No sound through headphones

Hello, I have a laptop running Windows 8, and I don't hear any sound through my headset, although the microphone attached component works.  The helmet has a usb connection. On the side left of my laptop is a headphone jack, but it isn't (a single post) usb port. That is why? Can I buy an adapter and this will allow me the hear and talk using the post single port connection on the laptop? I wouldn't have to use a separate to hear headphones and microphone to talk... I'm doing something wrong? How can I configure this to work?

  • Only sound through headphones

    Hello!

Yesterday, I received my TouchPad. Unfortunately, after the initial installation I found that no sound comes from the speakers. The sound plays through the headphones well. At the beginning I thought that somehow the TouchPad is in headset mode, but that can't be the case since whenever I have remove the headphones from the music player pauses (so the helmet sensor works correctly).

I tried it Inkwell with 3.0.0 and 3.0.2, but the problem is still there. I fear that this could be a hardware problem. But before I send it to a service (I can't go back, because I did not buy through official channels) Please tell me if you have any ideas. This could be a software problem?

A repair or replacement would be the only option then.

  • Pavilion DV4: Laptop plays sound through headphones but not by internal speakers

Audio was working fine on my laptop, when suddenly the laptop would not play sound with internal speakers.  If I plug in headphones sound is fine.  Execution of control panel of configuration/sounds shows 'Speakers and dual headphone - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC' enabled and set as the default device, as well as "independent double headphones" (enabled by default but not) and 'SPDIF (Digital Out via HP docking station)' disabled.  What can be wrong?

Cure the problem by uninstalling the CODEC driver, then restart Windows then reinstalled, and now things are ok again.

    Hello
I recently encounter some problem with my portege a600-128. Not illustrated, wireless network adapters a so no wifi detection, more when using headphones, realtek HD audio software detects them being plugged, but no sound is not output - I was wondering if it is a problem with the software, or perhaps of a damage...

Re: wifi, I tried to download the driver realtek_wlan_20100225.zip on the site, but nothing has changed. In fact, the single adapter in Device Manager is the adapter broadband toshiba f3507g mobile, and in network connections, I don't see this one. Try to "find the hardware changes" in Device Manager only managed the laptop to realize that my Alps pointing device (touchpad) is not installed (if she always worked and always made)-trying to install tpdrv-20081103180427. ZIP has not changed anything...

    Thanks for any help!

    Hey Buddy,

Have you checked if the WiFi is enabled by using the FN + F8 key combination? If your laptop is a hardware WLAN switch, it must be defined on IT!
In addition I recommend you load the default settings in the BIOS.

On your sound problem, have you tried to update the audio driver?

  • Pavilion dv6: new headphones, but some emissions are transmitting sound through speakers and headphones.

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
    Hello
    Hello

I recently bought a new headphones for the game but had some problems with it and the sound system. A major problem is when I have someone call on Skype, the Skype sound or the call will go through the headphones, but on the other audio from the speakers. I also agree that also what iTunes does not work when I am in a call as well. Some examples would be that if I want to watch a YouTube video during a call, noise would come by the speakers and not the headphones. However, I found a solution for this. All I had to do was turn off the main speakers and the audio was transmitted to the headphones. Another example would be that if I want to run the games through Steam (Garry Mod, TF2, ect.), I get no sound in the game. Not through my speakers or headphones. With one exception, volume of Garry Mod, I can hear through the speakers so that in a Skype call, but I want the sound to come through the headphones. But with TF2, I have no sound whatsoever. If you need more information about me, feel free to ask. Thank you.

  • System only through headphones - no music sounds. BUT... the music only through USB speakers. No system sounds. What is happening with this?

I listened to the music on my computer through headphones regular plugged into the audio jack of 3.5 mm.  I could hear the computer through headphones - music, movies, YouTube, system sounds - everything.

Then, I plugged my Microsoft Digital Sound System 80 speakers via the USB interface.  Windows XP found the speakers, loaded the right driver, gave me the message "your device is ready to use" and things started to play music that was running on the computer.  Sounds incredible.

But now, I have a weird problem.  I can hear only the sounds system through headphones (beeps and dings that play during system events), but I can't hear the sound system on the USB speakers. AND... I can't hear the music/videos/YouTube, etc. on the speakers USB-interface, but I can't hear the sound system through the USB speakers.

When I go to the audio tab of the sounds applet in the control panel and change the device for audio playback by default "SoundMAX HD Audio" to "Microsoft Digital Sound System", then I hear everything - system and all - sounds on USB speakers.  But then I hear anything through the headphones.

I want to be able to Exchange music back to making the USB speakers.  How this is done?

Yes, they are older speakers.  But they work a lot.  And the digital sound via the USB interface is excellent.

    Hi BitSpanker,

The only option is to change the audio device by default for the device that you want to hear the audio.

    (a) click Start, click Control Panel, and then click sounds, speech, and Audio devices.

    (b) click on sounds and Audio devices, and then click the Audio tab.

    (c) in the sound playback section, under default device, make sure the audio device is the correct default audio device.

    (d) If this isn't the correct default audio device, click the drop-down list next to the device name, click the audio device you want, and then click OK.

Change the audio device may require that restart you your computer.

  • Satellite M305D: No sound through the headphones but the speakers don't work

    Hey,.

I have a M305D I reformatted and installed Vista Ultimate. I installed all necessary drivers.

However, when I plug the headphones in the headphone jack I have no sound in headphones and the loudspeakers continue to play.

I don't know if the socket has worked before I refomrated.

    So I can't tell if it's a pre-existing condition.

Assistance on the issue of the helmet would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Have you tested with another helmet?

Maybe the little switch that is part of the headphone jack works not properly and doesn t switch between speakers and headphones.
In this case the question would be related to hardware

I m not very well if this problem could be related to a malfunction of the software, but it would be really interesting to know if the problem persists after installing the OS from the recovery DVD.

    Hello

I did a clean install on my Portege R100-11Z of windows 7 and later a new clean install of Windows XP Prof SP3.

But I hear via a USB headset via the USB.

    > In two configurations, I have no sound from the headphone/microphone jacks.

But that the sound from the speakers?

Theoretically, it could be possible that the headphone is faulty
Inside the headphone jack there is a little switch that switches between speakers and headphones.

I got a L750 recently and when I plug the headphones into the socket, there is no sound through them.

  • PC dv7 Beats Audio. No sound through speakers. Headset plays sounds

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software IDT, worked with the helmet on the internet basic sounds.  Tried to set up the sound, but he will say that he was unable to play the sound, but gives the alert ping with the window to appear.  When I go to iTunes and try to play a song or a movie, when I hit the play button it doesn't do anything (it is not still progress in the song as if the speakers were not on). When I click on the audio icon on the toolbar, it separates now between headset and loudspeaker sounds.  I bought the computer it last June, so it is a few months old and I only play many sound through it if it does not make sense.  Is there anything else I can do to fix this?

    HP Pavilion dv7t - 6 c 00

    Windows 7

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp58001-58500/sp58226.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards

  • No sound from headphones, internal speakers but continue to make sound

I use a HP with Windows Vista Premium. My computer quite aware that my headphones are connected, will play the "ding" sound through the headset when I run the test, and many of the sounds of Windows Basic (for example, the volume control) work with the helmet. However all other sounds (such as music, internet, games, etc.) do not play in my headset but my speakers instead. I tried the solutions found on the forums, but ultimately neither my headphones or the speaker worked so I tried a system restore, and Im back where I started, speakers are working but headphones don't while headphones are connected. How can I fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi AMcKeown

Thank you for visiting the Vista Forum.

Are these USB headset or headphone jack analog standard?

Are plug you into the headphone to the front of the computer or the rear (according to the model of CV, you have, it can be taken helmet two, one in front and one in back)-If you have one in the front and you use that one, the cable that goes from this Jack to the Audio card can be loosened.  Please consult your manual or the owner with HP support assistance on verification of this cable.

If it is a set of USB headset, make sure that the drivers are installed and up-to-date and compatible with Microsoft Vista.

  • Latitude E6420 Sound going headphones instead of speakers

I'm on a Dell Latitude E6420, and I'm having a problem with my speakers.

What I have found is that by default, the computer sends sound for headphones, regardless of whether or not they are connected. There are two audio devices in the control panel > Sound, one called speakers/headphones and the other called Communications helmet.
According to me, that both failed to the headphone, because when you play the normal sounds, they come through the headphones, and when you run the function 'Test' for the Communications headset, that comes through the headset as well. However, when you use the Test a helmet of communication and when you fill out a change in the volume of Communications helmet, the normal sounds (those who play with speakers/headphones) out through the speakers.

Dell has replaced both the motherboard and the speakers, and after that which did not help, they said I have to just wait for a new version of the driver.
