No stereo mix option is available

I have a laptop Sony Z, running Windows 7 64-bit series.

Specifications of the computer: http://i.imgur.com/YxWSbW0.jpg

Audio specs: http://i.imgur.com/HfBDUn7.jpg

After Iinstall the latest drivers from the Realtek site, the stereo mix option has yet to be found.

The devices disconnected and disabled is displayed.

I understand a few other threads that sometimes the sound card does not support, but which audio cards do?

Any help would be great, thanks.

Hello Mark,

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't see any problem with hidden devices that appear in Device Manager.

I ask that you uninstall the device in "Device Manager" sound card, uninstall the sound drivers in the programs list and then download and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

This occurs generally if the card sound/device drivers are corrupt, it is the reason why, we will have to completely uninstall and then reinstall them.

To do this, follow the steps below.

Step 1:
Uninstall the device from Device Manager sound card.

a. press Windows + R keys, type devmgmt.msc in the run window and press ENTER.
b. in Device Manager, expand "audio, video and game controllers".
c. right-click on the audio device and choose uninstall.
d. Please repeat the same steps with other devices in audio, video and game controllers, if it appears.

Step 2:
Uninstall device drivers in the list of programs.

After you uninstall the device from Device Manager sound card, I'll ask you uninstall the drivers for the device in the list programs.

a. press Windows + R keys, type appwiz.cpl in the immediate window and press ENTER.
b. in the list of installed programs, right-click the software related to the sound card and choose uninstall.

Step 3:
Download and install the latest drivers available from the manufacturer's website.
http://eSupport.Sony.com/ca/p/model-home.pl?MDL=VGNZ820D&template_id=1&Region_ID=3&tab=download#/downloadTab

After downloading, install the drivers and then restart the computer.

Please answer with results so that we can help you further.

Thank you

  • IDT HD Audio Codec and the stereo mix Option.

Okay, so, I have this thing, but don't see Stereo Mix. I need to activate this option to record the sound from a video recording program. I tried to download the drivers, but they are not compatible. How this pop up option? I have an Inspiron 1545, by the by.

If you are using Vista, make sure that when you are in the 'Recording' tab, you are "disabled" devices Under the list of pickups, etc., right-click on an empty space and select "Show disconnected devices". Then a source called "Rec. reading" should appear. This IS stereo mix. Right click, activate it, and then you can select it as default device and use other applications, etc.

If you still don't see it, you may be victim of a strange of Dell off the stereo mix on some laptops. Personally, I have a Studio 1537 with IDT and he enabled stereo mix, but Dell it restricted in the past on some computers thanks to the protection of copyright.

  • HP Pavilion g6-2240sa Notebook: stereo mix

When I bought the phone I got an option for us 'stereo mix' what radio recording using Audacity. When I upgraded to Windows 10 option was always there. A week ago, Microsoft upgraded Windows 10 (without asking me first!) since when the stereo mix option disappeared. I tried the system restore, but dates do not go far enough. How can I return the stereo mix option? Thank you

Well I did it.  It occurred to me that stereo mix is available in the previous version of the W10. I looked online and find a way back to the "previous generation." Settings - update & Security - recovery - back to a previous version

  • Satellite A300 - series stereo Mix unavailable with the Conexant audio driver

    Hello...

    I have laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 PSAJ0E...
I was using Windows XP Professional...

But I'm not able to use Stereo Mix so special...
I installed the Driver Conexant HD SmartAudio 221...

What can I do in this topic...

    I thank right now...

    Best regards...

Unfortunately, but you can not do much
The point is that it is a Conexant audio driver problem. This option or parameter is simply not available in the Conexant audio driver and as a result the port of stereo mix is not available and cannot be used.

I don't think a driver update audio can help so expect an update.

    Cheers mate

Maybe this question is posted before, but I can't seem to turn on the stereo mix option in my sound settings.
    It simply isn't there.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or is it not possible.

Are you sure that this option should be available somewhere?
All the settings of the sound your laptop are placed either in sound properties the audio presets in the Panel.
As far as I know that s all.

  • Stereo mix on Vostro Windows 7

    Hello

    I have a Vostro 3550 running Windws 7 64-bit.

The stereo mix option is not available in the settings of the sound card. I've updated the drivers from the Dell website, but no difference.

In the recording settings, the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC is marked as "not available".

    Is there a solution?

    Thanks in advance

IM actually trying to find a solution equivalent to stereo mix to record audio streams.

Rec.Playback records streams. You can only have one record source at a time, so be sure that nothing else is the default source, including microphones. If it still isn't available right click and look in "show disabled devices" to see if it is disabled.

  • No stereo mix with Satellite T110

I bought a Satellite T110 (Win7). There is no option of stereo mix with the recording devices. I scored see the disabled and disconnected devices. I've updated the driver conexant (4.98.16.61). Nothing helps. Still no stereo mix option. I tried to connect a male-male cable from the headphones to the line - gave very poor quality.

    Hello

As I know the audio chip Conexant does not provide this feature.
As far as I know that Stereo Mix is supported by the Realtek chip but the audio chip Conexant lack this feature.

  • Satellite Pro U400-130 - Conexant and 'Stereo Mix' in question

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-130 (downgraded from Vista to XP) with the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 "audio card" installed.

Although this seems to support HD audio, I can't find any option to use or activate the "Stereo Mix" option in the Windows console. I tried a few settings to registry and some different drivers, but so far, the option remained absent.

I know this forum and other comments on the net that Conexant audio cards do not support the stereo mix, but I was wondering if someone could confirm that this is certainly the case for SmartAudio 221?

Similarly, anyone know of another method to record the sound 'as heard' on the computer? So Far, the options appear to be a) buy an external sound card, or b) connect the plug headphone mini-jack on the mic with a cable jack.

After using a p3500 old Portege of 8 quite happy with this function (actually pretty basic), it is very disappointing to find that this card cannot support it.

    See you soon,.
    Select this option.

    > I can't find any option to use or activate the "Stereo Mix" option in the Windows mixer
    > I know this forum and other reviews on the net that the Conexant sound cards may not support stereo > Mix, but I was wondering if anyone could confirm this is certainly the case for SmartAudio 221?

I can confirm this because I have a laptop (NOT from Toshiba one) that was equipped with the Conexant audio chip and the other laptop (Toshiba Satellite a series has) that supports the Realtek audio chip.

The machine with Realtek audio chip contains stereo mix and the other non-Toshiba unit that supports the audio chip Conexant does not support the stereo mix

As far as I know the update of the driver won't help you because it looks like a hardware limitation of chip Conexant!

However, thanks for the info about the Virtual Audio Cable tool.
I think I'll try it next time

  • How to get the stereo mix on the Satellite P500 with Conexant - SOLUTION sound card

    Hello people...
I'll write here what it takes to run the 'stereo mix' on a laptop computer equipped with a sound card Conexant.
I ran this feature on my laptop Satelilite P500
to run this function, you need drivers nr. 4.111.0.62
These drivers can be downloaded from the Lenovo Web site,
These are the drivers of Lenovo G555 model IN2AUD25WW5.exe
    http://consumersupport.Lenovo.com/UK/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=150169
Unzip the IN2AUD25WW5.exe file using winrar or 7zip
next step is to find in the file "W7-64" or "W7 - 32""NELCC2wa.inf" ".
Open the file "NELCC2wa.inf" in the "notebook" and add the ENTRY under Conexant.NTamd64.6.0]---> > vista
    or Conexant.NTamd64.6.1]---> > 7

    ENTRY
    %HdAudioFunctionDriver.Pebble5071.DeviceDesc% = HdAudModelNELA0V, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_14F1 & DEV_5067 & SUBSYS_1179FFD4

This entry its hardware id. Can be found in Device Manager
After the entry, save and close the file "NELCC2wa.inf".
next step is to update the driver in Device Manager
in the Device Manager find the entry 'Conexant '.
Right click and select "update driver".
then you select "installation of a list or a specific location" or let me choose from a floppy disk

and point to the location where you saved the unzipped and outdated file 'NELCC2wa.inf '.
After this start of the computer, update the driver
If all goes well, after installation, you should find the 'stereo mix' in the sounds of parameters
    Take advantage of...
PS. It also works with XP 32 and 64-bit using driver 3.97.0.0 Lenovo

I'm agree with InvaderZim that this procedure has helped me on my laptop satellite, I thought that this stereo mix is not available and not supported by my laptop sound chip but using the solution as shown above has helped me get the stereo mix for the sound recording.

    Hey,.

I am looking for a couple of hours now, trying to find why my computer dell laptop isn't has the option of stereo mix as in any normal laptop, and really - I'm desperate!

First of all, I tried to install the Realtek driver, which does not work. Looking all over the web, find a lot of dell without the stereo mix option, I finally found this topic.

I think that there is no hope... but mabye, someone has already found a response. After all, how it is possible that dell WILL NOT SUPPORT stereo Mix Option?

Please, read the section above before suggesting anything, because I tried also what appears there and could not find my solution.

  • Satellite P500: Audio "what you hear" or "Stereo Mix available?

I am a member of a seniors computer club and they lent me the Toshiba P500 model PSPG8A computer so I can set up events for some meetings, this computer running Windows 7.

One of the characteristics of the P500, I am to research is Audio "what you hear" or "Stereo Mix" as I will need to capture from the speakers.

All I can find for recording is the built-in microphone, no line or other controls, I've never seen so little on a computer before.
This computer has "what you hear" or "Stereo Mix", if so how do you access them?
The audio cards are only Microphone and headphones.

If the computer does not have these characteristics, if someone could suggest what external alternatives I have to allow this computer to record directly to the speakers.

As I do not have a user manual, could you please indicate where I can download it from, have looked but can not find on the web.
    kevsim

    Hello

I put t know what P500-xxx you have exactly, but P500-10J, which belongs to the series of PSPG8E does not support the Line In, or out of line
The laptop seems to support HDMI out jack and head phone microphone port.

I downloaded the manual for this series of laptop and other audio jacks are not mentioned
It seems therefore that the function that you requested is not available :(

  • Satellite A100-998: mono/stereo mix not available under Vista

Windows Vista and the Microsoft default value "High definition Audio Device" driver (automatically selected and installed by Setup of Vista), no recording device is listed with the exception of the Microphone, Line In, CD Audio, as in this screenshot of the A100-998 in question:
    http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/1981/a100998jp6.PNG

No new Mix or record Waveout options of the device, which means that you can not, for example, doesn't record audio stream on the Internet. I tried the latest drivers from Realtek HD Audio for Vista (30/11/2006 R1.52). No change. Is there a way/driver to enable this as in other Windows Vista machines.

Is also the audio material in the A100-998 "Vista Premium Ready" with the specifications set out in the http://www.optimalsound.net/?

It's the third disappointment. The first two were that he has not delivered with the announced NVIDIA GF7400 (came to the square with 7300) and the second is that the hard drive is 4200 RPM (instead of the advertised 5400).
The third issue is the audio issue detailed above.

Here is a solution I found, but it is not free (costs $US28.20) and requires users to manually switch the "playback devices" each time that they execute it:
    http://www.NCH.com.au/SoundTap/index.html
Unlike other programs like Audacity which are based on the Waveout/Mono/Stereo Mix as their sound source (and so do not work in this case), NCH SoundTap installs its own virtual driver and is therefore able to record everything you hear through your speakers in Windows Vista without the need for Waveout/Mono/Stereo Mix. "All the sound elements are"typed"by a pilot virtual directly in the kernel, so the process is perfect digital quality."

However, it would be better that Vista Realtek/Toshiba/Microsoft "High definition Audio Device" driver is updated to include the Waveout/Mono/Stereo Mix (under "recording devices"), so that programs that rely on it are broken. SoundTap can do on Vista means that it is not a hardware limitation.

PS new Vista sound effects as Loudness equalization, Room Correction, Bass Management and Virtual Surround are already supported in the current drivers Vista (the driver from Realtek v1.52 and that by default by Microsoft) in Satellite A100-998.
