• Pavilion zv5000 "esc or f10" does nothing

  I got just the power port on my HP Pavilion zv5000 friends (a PIN was loose and prevented adapter charging and powering of the device to reliably).  He WAS the starter in Windows (when the AC adapter was held just right).

  Now that the spindle is fixed (and the LED on the front panel indicates that it uses the reliable power), start the system does not past the initial splash screen...

  No matter which buttons I press, it will not go beyond this screen.  I followed the guide for troubleshooting HP here, but nothing helps.  I have an extra keyboard or monitor to test yet (hopefully what to do tomorrow).  However, I get information on lcd laptop, so that doesn't seem worth a pinch.  The keyboard seems to be the best troubleshooting step. I did the hard reset (no air-con, no battery, power supply for 15 sec and then boot with AC only).  Also tried to start without the HD installed. Which none have changed the result.

  In addition, disconnect keyboard built-in the laptop and power does nothing more (I thought it would at least be a beep or that he detected no keyboard).

  Any recommendations to try before having to hassle to order a replacement keyboard?

  Good news, if someone else come here looking for help.

  With the hard drive and that both battery disconnected (according to instructions reset HP), I reinstalled the wireless card and RAM.  Then, I started with a connected usb keyboard and the keyboard internal disconnected.

  The machine tried to boot from the internal devices according to the directives of the bios boot order.  I reconnected the battery and the hard drive and the keyboards and tried again with the unplugged usb keyboard.

  He started up without flaw.  In addition, I noticed signs of distress (deformation of heat) on the connector for the display of the motherboard.

Just be careful, because as I mentioned before, if something is broken, pieces will probably not an option, although, if necessary, you can try the parts store.

• Pavilion zv5000 - IDE adapter for HARD drive?

  I have a Pavilion zv5000 series portable whose hard drive died several years ago. My father sent him to a work friend, who understood that it was the HARD drive, and I guess that he threw the car with an adapter with it. I got an IDE drive, foolishly, assuming that the pins on the drive just fit into the connector on the laptop itself. After a lot of confusion as to why the player wouldn't be good, a research showed a card equipped with a regular at one end IDE connector and a connector similar to that on the laptop on the other. I ask if it is true that I need one, even if I do not otherwise so that it connects.

  Also, nines are isolated from the main pins on the drive. The old connector Molex had also four pins. These are the power pins, and the adapter address these too? It doesn't seem to be any other connector on the laptop. Once again, I want to just confirm this and no I have to not just buy the wrong thing for this laptop.

  I recently did a clean install of win7 XP and since then have had to reset the boot sequence.  After some research, I realized that the cmos was not keeping date/time, etc.  After you start through the process of recovery of the win7 os works find.  I downloaded the manual but have not been able to positively locate the cmos under the keyboard battery.  My laptop is a HP Pavilion zv5000 or zv5260us.  I would like advice as to its location, if it is welded to the and is replaceable?

  In fact, I used to own a very close model of one and can vouch that it can use 2 GB of DDR 800 SO - DIMM (first gen DDR). There is a slot under a door over there and the other is under the keyboard, which is not too difficult to remove it. Here is the Manual:

  I have a Pavilion ZV5000 with XP pro sp3.  The battery is new.  The CC has been replaced.  Here are the symptoms:

  Battery recharge when the laptop is turned off.

  The laptop will boot and work if she is only connected to the adapter current (without battery)
