No Vista and no hard drive!

Hello

I have a friend whose computer laptop is playing so I'm writing this in his name.

He said he went to turn on his laptop and it was just a blue screen and no Vista would load up. He went on the config and it said there was no hard drive recognized. He has the drive for Vista and went to try to reinstall it, but then when he went to install, C: is not available to install it on.

Someone at - it ideas? I checked some other forums and they suggested to load in SafeMode etc but it cannot even get there! If you need more information, I will ask, but there may be a delay.

Thanks in advance :)

It is possible that the hard drive or a part of the motherboard of the laptop is damaged. If you feel it, you can check in the BIOS if the disk hard/SATA controller is enabled and works in AHCI mode or inheritance (PATA). You can also remove the drive from the laptop and reinsert again. Don't forget not to power the laptop down first, remove the AC adapter Plug and battery.

If you do not feel like to do all this contact technical support from the manufacturer of the laptop.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300-1EA: can I use faster and bigger HARD drive?

So this may seem like a stupid question, but if I intend to spend of the installed 160 GB 5400 RPM HDD of the Satellite Pro A300 1EA to a 7200 RPM drive HARD (do not know the ability yet) and I was wondering how to make recovery disks (downgrade from Vista professional and XP Professional) coming with the work of the laptop with the HARD disk that does not part of factory as drives for my understanding restore the system...

The size of the drive HARD replacement has something to do with the thing?
If the replacement HARD drive is also 160 GB system see the difference? And even if it was smaller or larger the system see the difference?

I have not even bought the laptop but will soon and it is a little urgent.

    Computer thanks Fellows ahead! :)

    * Oh... It seems that this question has already been answered... a little research has ever killed forum person huh... but if someone has vital information about the issue... Please let me know! :)*

    Hello

I think that he should t be a problem with an upgrade to a faster and bigger HARD drive.
But before you switch the HARD disk, you must create the Toshiba Recovery DVD using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
After the recovery disk has been created, you can move the hard drives.

    OR for a Vista reinstall:

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Portege M300: Can I use a faster and bigger HARD drive

    Morning,

is it possible to have a faster and bigger hard drive? Maybe something 7200 rpm or more?

    A 30GB / 40 GB/60 GB/80 GB/100 GB hard with 4200 and 5400 RPM 2.5-inch drives are supported.

These hard drives, you can get anywhere.

Ugggh.  I have a 27-inch iMac late 2011 and the hard drive was updated with a new SSD.  The integrated cd/dvd had to be taken out.  I then bought a thought of superdrive, it should work.  It's frozen on my iMac!  Gee, who could have possibly guessed that would happen?  I tried all kinds of silly workarounds, I found on the internet, but still it will not register the stack of DVDs and other discs I have.

If you're like me and upgraded your iMac that came with a cd/dvd drive internal... so he has to come out to give way to the fusion or the SSD drive, do NOT buy the apple superdrive.  It will work with your computer!

Think I'll get a laptop samsung...

Ironic, isn't it? Own Apple SuperDrive will not work with Apple computers. Shame you don't check here first that we would have warned you. Return Apple overpriced and buy a nice third-party player for a third of the price. I love the LG units. You can consider a loading plate because they are more reliable, and you can use these pesky disc when you get one.
