When you wire your computer to the router are you able to go online? If Yes, then I think you need to change the settings of your router and then try to connect to your wireless network. Follow the settings below.

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...

For wireless settings, follow these steps: -.
Click on the Wireless tab

-Here, select manual configuration... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

-Set the Standard - 20 MHz Radio band and change the Standard channel to 11-2, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...

For wireless security: -.
Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...

Change the mode of WPA wireless security, encryption, select TKIP. Password input your desired WPA key. For example, MySecretKey, this will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and do not forget the key.

NOTE: The password must be more than 8 characters...

Click the settings advanced wireless
Change the tag to 50 interval, change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 and click on save settings...

Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect...

  • My laptop cannot connect to wireless internet. Ethernet works fine. Wireless is enabled on the laptop.

    original title: portable wireless problems

Hi guys, my laptop cannot connect to wireless internet. I tried to use ConfigFree Diagnostic tests already installed on my computer, reset the router, and even taking on the router for 30 seconds and put it to. On my laptop wireless switch is turned on, too. Is the only way I can connect to the internet via an ethernet cable and I started to disconnect from the wireless internet just yesterday. I know that my router is not the problem because I have a laptop connected to her brother. Also, I tried the FN + F8 key on my Toshiba laptop. Thank you in advance.

To do a hard reset on the router and the modem, you must feed their STOP, wait 3 minutes,
then then turn on the modem on - when it comes back - router - when it is set to zero
    computers.
    ----------------------------------------------

Anyway the same answer applies: update WiFi driver that something has probably
He touched. Make sure that the wireless device is turned on, if there is a switch on the computer.
Many Toshiba have a WiFi switch on the front or side.

Update the driver WiFi, use the wired (NIC) to download the driver or do it on another
system and your transfer on removable media such as CD, DVD or a USB key.

Control Panel - device - network - WiFi note the brand manager and full
model information - double click - writing tab Drivers version - then power management tab uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device...". »

Then on the tab driver, click Update driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind
drivers of certification) - then right click on the device - UNINSTALL - REBOOT - this will
    update the driver stack.

Go to system Maker and search for the WiFi Driver updated - download - SAVE - go to
where you put it - make a right click on it - RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT

Then go to the site of the manufacturer of the device and get even more recent (Realtek, Intel, or one that makes
the device) and try the install again.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Cannot access the internet using a wireless connection via ATT Uverse using laptop computer with Windows XP

My wireless Internet connection has stopped working when I converted to ATT DSL to ATT Uverse.  My laptop sees the network and says I'm connected with all the green "bars".  However, when I try to connect to the internet I have two things to happen.  Either I get a long period which ends with the message that I can't connect to the network.  Or - I can connect to the internet for a very short period of time - a part of a screen is displayed and then crashes.  I entered the codes of security several times to ensure accuracy.  How to solve this problem?

  • How can I secure my laptop when I surf the internet via a public router at work?

How can I secure my laptop when I surf the internet via a public router at work? I mean if I use a router to work and others use too and I use a private laptop! I heard that someone hase the knoladge he can enter my laptop the couscous that he uses the same router I do. you have a special program for that, or is there a place in my computer that I need to enable to avoid the unwanted entries?

If your Windows is updated and your Windows Firewall is enabled and that you have updated anti-virus, that would be fine. In Windows 7, you must check Action Center in Control Panel to see your security status, if something is wrong that it will show a message in Windows XP and Windows Vista, he calls the center of security.

They may only enter your laptop or hack, if your firewall is disabled or there is a vulnerability in your system or a Malware would cause of vulnerability, and in all cases to ensure that your Windows updates and anti-virus is running, you are protected.

Another thing is that if your router requires the password, then choose strong password and change it regularly, if it is public without password or authentication, then you need to careful when visiting Web sites because they could be monitor and publicly display information. Some websites have encryption that in Internet Explorer, it shows as a lock icon pad indicating that your transaction is encrypted and you're safe.

It depends also wireless encryption in your company that will be in service by admin or SOUND Department if it's WPA2 which is good but for WEP or WPA, you should be very careful. I suggest to discuss this issue with your COMPUTER service too.

  • Windows 7: no internet via an Ethernet connection, wireless is fine

Look for help here because I'm stuck.

PC laptop Toshiba 3 year. Ethernet and wireless have both worked fine with XP. Since the upgrade to Windows 7, my without wire is fine, but I can't connect to internet via Ethernet. Other computers in the House are connected to my router and work very well. I have configured an IP address manually (as I have on other computers) with no luck. Auto setting it will not longer work. I use just TCP/IPv4 (v6 is not checked, the old router doesn't support). I've played with just about everything I can think of and still no luck.

The strange thing is that when I try to load a Web site, the data seem to flow in a second. For example, go to google.com, it will look like its loading but nothing will come. Then comes the text will come after 20 seconds maybe, but not the logo (ie the graphics). It will just hang there and expire. A normal webpage I visit will simply sit on a white screen then Firefox will report it is "done" at the bottom, but nothing appears.

I also can not log - on to my router, same problem, it won't load the web interface page and any waiting period.

Under the "Network and sharing" Center, everything seems to be fine. It will say I am connected to my network, and diagnostics will not find something wrong. Yet, no internet.

    Any ideas?

I would reinstall the driver again, so uninstall in device and then Manager re - download the driver from the website of the manufacturer of your computer, and then install restart your computer, restart your router, and then try again

    Hope I helped...

I have connected my BlackBerry smart phone to my laptop via a Bluetooth successfully, but when I tried to connect to the internet, here's a message appears: your device cannot automatically connect to the internet, you want to enter user name and number manually?

So, how can I connect my BlackBerry smart phone to the internet via a bluetooth connection?

    Hi Michael,

You must create a connection switched to solve the problem:

    Please follow the steps:

    a. click on the blue Windows logo at the bottom of the screen, then click on 'control panel '.

    b. double-click on "Network and sharing Center." If you don't see this icon, click on "Classic view" in Windows Vista. In Windows 7, click on the "view by:" drop-down menu and select 'small icons '.

    c. click on "Set up a connection or network" on the left side of the window. Select "Set up a dial-up connection" and then click "next".

    d. type the phone number of your Internet Service provider in the box "Dial-up phone number." Type the number exactly as you need to dial it in your area - include the area code if required by your telephone company.

Enter your user name and password. The ISP gives you this information when you create your account. Check the box "Remember this password" to avoid having to enter the password each time you use the connection.

    f. type a name in the box 'Connection name' which will help you to remember which connection it is.

    g. check the box "Allow other people to use this connection" to make the connection available to all users on your computer.

    h. click the 'Connect' button to connect to the Internet service provider and save the connection. You can connect to it in the future by clicking on the logo Windows at the bottom of the screen, then "Connect To."

  • Impossible to attach Windows 10 laptop computer to the Internet via cable USB iPhone 5 c after update to iTunes and iPhone (March 2016)

    System information:

    Tactile Lenovo Y50-70

Construction of 10.0.10586 of Windows 10-10586

    iPhone 5 c - iOS 9.2.1

    iTunes - 12.3.2.35 / 64-bit

    Cell carrier: Etisalat AF

Last year in Afghanistan, I have used my iPhone 5 c to attach my laptop to the internet simply by connecting via USB.  It has always worked.  Was very simple.  When I returned to the States for R & R in November 2015, I've updated my iPhone and iTunes to the latest versions and upgrades Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

I am now back in Afghanistan and USB tethering no longer works.  WiFi tethering works half the time.  The other half of the time, when I try and connect to the network of the iPhone, it is said, you cannot connect to this network.  When I can't connect to the phone, I disable the personal hotspot, WiFi and Bluetooth on the phone and then I turn it back on.  I also turn off my WiFi adapter on my laptop and turn it back on.  Which usually solves the problem and then I can connect via WiFi.

Do some research on the internet, I read that there was a file corrupted when the current generation of iTunes, but Apple had set and you just need to reinstall the current version, which I did.  I have reinstalled iTunes by suggestions from different site.  After reinstalling iTunes and restart, I can always have my phone to connect to internet via the USB cable.

I want to be able to connect my laptop to the internet using my phone via the USB cable.  I want it all works just as it did previously.  Connection via WiFi is a pain in the ass, because it does not work half the time and disconnects on a regular basis.

Please tell us what should I do to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

OK, I finally understand how to solve this problem.

I was able to understand because of this post:

    https://discussions.Apple.com/message/29267225#29267225

The problem is that Windows 10 was not install appropriate drivers for my iPhone.

You can see 2 places to see.  We're in the control panel.  After you plug in your iPhone, the iPhone will be displayed and highlighted as not having is not a compatible driver.  The other place is in "Devices and printers", there you will see 3 apple devices: 1 Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, iPhone 2, and 3. Apple iPhone.  All three appear when I plugged in my iPhone.

However, the problem was one that said iPhone really should have said "Apple Mobile Device Ethernet".

    So, how to fix this?

Open devices and printers-> right click Iphone which should be under "Unscpecified"-> properties-> hardware-> Propterties tab-> change settings-> tab driver-> update driver-> Browse my computer for software Local-> Browse to the directory "C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support".

Make sure you have the files box to include under verified.

Who did.  Windows successfully installed the necessary drivers.  Now, I can easily connect to the internet via the USB cable again without any problems.
