Windows 7: no internet via an Ethernet connection, wireless is fine

Look for help here because I'm stuck.

PC laptop Toshiba 3 year. Ethernet and wireless have both worked fine with XP. Since the upgrade to Windows 7, my without wire is fine, but I can't connect to internet via Ethernet. Other computers in the House are connected to my router and work very well. I have configured an IP address manually (as I have on other computers) with no luck. Auto setting it will not longer work. I use just TCP/IPv4 (v6 is not checked, the old router doesn't support). I've played with just about everything I can think of and still no luck.

The strange thing is that when I try to load a Web site, the data seem to flow in a second. For example, go to google.com, it will look like its loading but nothing will come. Then comes the text will come after 20 seconds maybe, but not the logo (ie the graphics). It will just hang there and expire. A normal webpage I visit will simply sit on a white screen then Firefox will report it is "done" at the bottom, but nothing appears.

I also can not log - on to my router, same problem, it won't load the web interface page and any waiting period.

Under the "Network and sharing" Center, everything seems to be fine. It will say I am connected to my network, and diagnostics will not find something wrong. Yet, no internet.

Any ideas?

I would reinstall the driver again, so uninstall in device and then Manager re - download the driver from the website of the manufacturer of your computer, and then install restart your computer, restart your router, and then try again

Hope I helped...

    What can I do?

    Hey @George5500,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand your JO 6830 unresponsive when it is in standby when you are using the Ethernet connection, but it does not occur when connected via USB.

We will perform a hard reset. To do this, leave the printer and unplug the power cable for 1 minute. While it is unplugged, press and hold the power button on the printer for 10-15 seconds to release built his power, then after the minute, plug the printer in. Also, even if you have used a surge protector/power bar this whole time and you feel this isn't the cause, please plug it in to a wall outlet so that we can eliminate the source of energy as the primary cause.   Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power

  • Can not connect Equium M70 to the Internet via an Ethernet cable

I have recently install wide telewest broadband via the installation disc. I used the provided ethernet cable. During installation, I received an error message stating that it could not connect due to various problems.
After a long discussion with the customer service and try several solutions over the phone we wouldn't always get connection using the ethernet cable.
Telewest has also provided a USB cable so I was told to remove the ethernet connection and plug in the USB. The connection has been made instantly.

Has been informed by the technical support of Telewest, that I had a problem ethernet on the laptop. This could be correct, or maybe it was an ethernet cable from the spleen.
Any suggestions? My laptop is only four months.

    Hello

It is not easy to believe that the network adapter does not work on your laptop. What is the status of LAN in Device Manager? When the cable is connected is the assets of orange or green led or not? Try also to start ConfigFree tool. Under the physician connectivity tab, you can see their actual situation and if there is a problem of communication it will be shown here.

If there is any attempt of trying to test it on another network (perhaps in your company).
You can also contact your dealer and allow it to check the device. It can be done in the store and may not take a lot of time.

  • Satellite A80: Failure to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable

I'm having problems to get an internet connection via a cable ethernet to my office. The laptop works everywhere else, but not in the office. The strangest thing is that my desktop at the office computer works perfectly with the same cable.

The icon in the taskbar of configfree reads "MARVELL YUKON 88E8036 PC... 169.254.95.8"no matter how many times I disconnect and reconnect it to my office. Curiously, the IP Office when it is connected to the same cable is 192.168.1.69.

I was told to change the tcp/ip properties manually, but I'm not able to do because I have not all entries in the NETWORK CONNECTIONS or can't seem to create a new.

I would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions.

    Hello

I wonder why you have no entries for network connections.
Click Start-> settings-> network connections-> connections to the Local network-> properties

Select the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
If you use a server in your office and the IP address is assigned automatically then all TCP/IP parameters must be on automatically

    Check it!

    Hello

I suggest you to download and install the drivers for the network card and check if it helps.

You can try to get the drivers, go to the manufacturer's Web site and check the version of the windows 2000 drivers.

  • Ethernet or wireless is connected but no Internet access

My laptop OS is Win 7 64 bit. My laptop able to connect to the internet, but it suddenly can't connect to the internet via the Ethernet or wireless. I tried to system restore and it worked fine, but after I stopped, the problem was took place again. I don't know if because of the McAfee antivirus or window updates because it has some errors (to McAfee) and Skype has been updated before I had this problem (no internet access).

McAfee has been updated at the same time as the last batch of updates from Windows 7 and this is the cause of problems of internet connection for most, if not all, users of McAfee.

See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary. There are corresponding communications for their enterprise products.

  • Only browsers and AVAST cannot connect to internet via ethernet. Computers on the same router via WiFi, MS update, ping cmd - all access

Help! I'm about to commit the homicide of the computer!

I have been troubleshooting for weeks and am now bald from ripping my hair!

    Computer: Dell Inspiron 537 s Slim Desktop  w / Pentium Dual - Core CPU E5200 @250 GHz

Network card: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (checked several times, through Windows, it works correctly)

System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit with Service Pack 1

    Router: Netgear N600 model #: WNDR3400v2

    Cable router: SBV5220 Surfboard Motorola

Now several months ago this desktop computer once more had SOME programs lose the ability to access the internet via an Ethernet cable.

    Affected programs:

    MS Internet Explorer

    Mozilla Firefox

    Avast! Security Suite

    Work of MS Security Update

    Ping works sites (Yahoo, etc.)

Other computers connected to this network via WiFi - no problem getting on the internet.

Run the network troubleshooter advises all is working properly, no suggestion.

    Attempted fixes:

Turn off all extensions on IE (but don't forget Firefox and Avast! are also unable to access.)

Disabled all start-ups and the package process

Restarted in Safe Mode - still not able to access.

Ran check complete virus, then check virus run start. Minor ad-ware 'virus' not found, all corrected automatically.

Rebooted the router and the computer to infinity and beyond! s

Tried other computers using the same ethernet cable connected to this wireless routers cable, no problem accessing the internet.

    Disabled functions package

    Off MS Firewall

IP Reset configuration (memory: netsh ip net reset c:\resetlog.txt - without DOUBT NOT EXACT - OF THE MEMORY.) Command worked)

As I said, this had happened before and then miraculously fixed itself after a short period (less than 1 week). This time, no joy.

Of course, it's one of two things:

    (1) a configuration problem I just can't find/understand.

    (2) the problem of equipment more strange, more selective, in the universe.

    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Thank you more can I possibly Express for assistance.

You could win the lottery and have a lot of beautiful children!

    (M.) Kel

    Hello team zig - zag,

I wanted to thank you for your help. I finally broke down and reached out to our friends at Microsoft directly for assistance. They had me a role through all the things that you suggested (again). And finally (after many hours of phone and chat discussions) came up with an answer: "* shrug * we don't know what is the problem - choose a restore point and come back to that.» What I did. This has solved the problem of internet access, but created other problems I'm trying (nothing that I have to post here, they are specific to a particular program package).

Still, I wanted to thank you for your time and effort on my behalf. I'm very, very happy!

    All my best,

    Kel
