Node call within the DLL run-time library

Hello!

Is it possible to call a DLL function call library function node?

I mean starting with first COLD LAKE that runs the local function of the DLL Function1() and Function1 runs second CLFN2 and passes the data to LV?

  • LabVIEW crashes after the call to the DLL

    Hi all

I'm working on writing a wrapper for a dll. The call to the dll works fine a returns the appropriate values, but as soon as I close the VI dev LabVIEW environment crashes. Any help to avoid the same. I've been through a lot of posts and I tried varying the types of data sent to the dll, but again it gets crashed.

the dll function that I use is the prototype (with the calling convention of type C)

int nomfonction (Struct * cfg, UCHAR dNumber, UCHAR hTYPE)

The varables UCHAR I'm passing as of 8-bit unsigned integers.

For the structure, I did a cluster and pass with adapted to the Type and handles.

The DLL is running very well and the VI stops, too, but as soon as I try to close the dev environment VI crashes. Help, please.

    Thank you.

It is always possible that there is a bug in your DLL, or you're a failure calling a function in the DLL that is required in order to properly clean. The problem is perhaps not the way you have set up the call library function node.

If you post: your VI; the header file that defines the structure of the cfg and the function prototype; and all the documentation on the function, so we can tell you if it is properly configured. Without this information there is little we can do.

  • Timeout on a call to the DLL

    Hello

Does anyone know if there is a way to force the DLL to timeout call?  I have a DLL that I wrapped with screws but on some of the methods, there seems to be an internal timeout hardcoded I need to reduce but now I'm stuck until the end of the call to the DLL and I therefore expect this internal time-out that is ~ 35sec.  Thank you.

    -Va

It is impossible to interrupt a call to a DLL. A call to a DLL never times out. the DLL function must be completed in order for the ongoing enforcement.

  • How to fix Microsoft Visual C++ run time library program C:/Program File (X 8... is being done in an unusual way

I went to Microsoft for help but was told that since the introduction of Windows 7 installed on my HP computer that HP would be difficult.  Went to HP Live Chat Support talked to three technicians different and none of them could solve the problem.  The problem is an error message that I receive as follows:
Microsoft Visual C++ run time library program C:/Program File (X 8... ended in an unusual way - contact the programs manufacturer.)
I did and no one wants to help.  WHY?

    Hello

    1. when exactly you receive this error message?

    2. you receive this error message when you use Internet Explorer?

    3. What is the exact full error message?

    4. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

Follow the mentioned below as follows:

Step 1: Check in safe mode.

You can also check if the problem persists in safe mode.

    Reference:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Now step 2.

Step 2: Perform the clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error message, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Can I run two separate versions of the LabVIEW Run - Time Engine on a PC?

Hello, I am curious to know if anyone knew if it is possible to install and use the two separate versions of the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine on a PC?  I have currently 2009 runtime engine installed on a machine, and I wanted to install the runtime for 2011 as well. I know that you can run two separate versions of the LabVIEW program on the same machine, but what about the Run-Time Engine?

    Thank you!

No problem at all. I currently have the engines of execution for 8.2, 8.6, 2009, 2010 and 2011 on my computer. Multiples are no problem at all. Go ahead and load.

  • Creating a single setup program, including the DSC Run-Time module

    Hello

I would like to know if it is possible to add the DSC run-time of an installer?

I'm using LabVIEW and DSC 8.6 and I do not have the license for the DSC run-time.

In the "Additional installers", I checked the health empty boxes:

    • OR Distributed System Manager
    • NEITHER deployment DSC increased support for LabVIEW 8.6
    • OR LabVIEW Run-Time Engine
    • NEITHER Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.5
    • Engine OR Variable

When I open MAX after the installation, I do not see the database of the Citadel, and there is no trace of the execution from DSC module.

How can I have a single installer that will do the work?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Yes, as long as your customer has performance DSC system installed and enabled on their computer, they should be able to use your exe with Setup included. Then you wouldn't need an installer for it because it would be already installed and the computer should have MAX and the database of the Citadel. You will not be able to install the RTS as an extra Installer, unless you activate it on your machine. I hope this helps.

When I try to run a VI that is reentrant in an execution at the same time, I get this error.  The details of the error is: LabVIEW: the method or property is not supported in this version of LabVIEW.

This is performed under the LV 2010 Simple operator Interface.  The TestStand engine is version 4.2.1 with runtime adapter 2010 LV.

If I save to an earlier version to LV 2009 SP1, then assign the adapter TS 9.0.1 (2009 SP1), it works.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Run time Library error while opening VLC Media Player.

Well, here's my situation, I don't know if this applies to what is going on, but I recently got a new videocard (Sapphire Radeon HD 5770), this was due to my last video from artifact card, I think that's what it's called when your screen becomes random vertical lines through it to random colors.  in any case, everything works well except my Media Player, VLC, however, I tested it on others, such as Windows Media player for if it would work or got the same error.  It did not work and did not give the same error.  On VLC, the error I get goes like this, Word for Word, "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library", the tab, the message itself, which is published two times, everytime I try with the same message.

    The message is

"This Application has requested execution to terminate in an unusual way."

"Contact the support team of the application for more information"

That's about all I could on this particular issue.  However, it was my last resort to come here because I thought I could fix it myself through things I did, such relocation VLC, reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x 86 Redistributable - 10.0.30319 as well as other similar to these attempts varies.  However, exactly the same problem occurred.  I even did an analysis of the system of orders, syf/scannow prompt or something close to that.  If you have ANY suggestions, please let me know.

Other information that may be useful to understand this problem,

-Actually, I re-uploaded the files (.mkv type).

-The version of windows I'm using is Vista 32 bit.

I can not really think of anything to add, but if you would like more information about this problem, please let me know here.

    Thank you!

Maybe the program VLC is looking for an older version of C++?

You get the error if you disable the Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 in Device Manager?  type devmgmt.msc in the Start Menu / RUN you'll get there.  You run the latest Vista drivers for your card?  If you disable it, Windows will use a driver vga instead of the current driver for your card.

See if you can isolate any third-party for the problem cause.

  • What order are the nodes synchronized within the same NodeCollection?

Basically, is it a guarantee of the order of synchronization within a NodeCollection? I guess that there is and that it is based on the order in which the nodes were created. For example, in the SimpleChatModel the node creation order is:

    HISTORY_NODE_EVERYONE

    HISTORY_NODE_PARTICIPANTS

    HISTORY_NODE_HOSTS

    TYPING_NODE_NAME

During the synchronization of will I receive all messages in HISTORY_NODE_EVERYONE before receiving * ANY * messages for HISTORY_NODE_PARTICIPANTS? HISTORY_NODE_PARTICIPANTS all messages sent before HISTORY_NODE_HOSTS sends its messages? When I say "sent" I'm not as well what is the actual network traffic (I don't like on the order of actual arrival package, it's your job CAA developers ), that I really care to know if ItemRecieve for HISTORY_NODE_PARTICIPANTS can get executed while HISTORY_NODE_EVERYONE continues to receive messages?

Why cross the next level in the hierarchy of the NodeCollection level takes a NodeCollection to be fully synchronized before another NodeCollection (called subscribe after the first) can retrieve messages from ItemRecieve? If NodeCollection agreed before NodeCollection B is a guarantee to get synced before B? At end synchronization before B gets his first message?

I started having a problem where I have to make sure that some knots are synchronized before I begin to receive messages to other nodes. I of course can I check dependencies on reception and simply to postpone the execution until the dependency is sync'd, but this will create a lot more code points of failure that I really wanted to. I expected an easier way to do it.

    VES

    Hello

To begin to answer, its recommended that the collection that node is fully synchronized i.e. synchronization change event was pulled on it before you update your template or change anything in the user interface. We have built complex applications of this practice. So, I'm not sure of a use case where you can not do the update after your collectionNode synchronized and update the model and the view that collectionNode.isynschronized is true.

This will avoid any dependency data between nodes in a node in the collection.

Similarly, if the data between two nodes from the collection are dependent on each other, you can do them under a collectionNode.

And finally, we are not going for a specific order.

    I hope this helps.

But please let us know the use for your case.

    Thank you

  • Bug: Call from the DLL Windows 7 to disable the monitor message block 10.0f2 LabVIEW

    Hello

I wanted to connect this bug on the forum. I already connected this with the support of the United Kingdom NOR: CAR # 286873

I was trying to find a way to turn off an LCD laptop during the measurements. I tried to reproduce this

I found the joint monitor - 1(vi) somewhere on the forum that seems to of the foregoing. However when I run the VI it blocks 10.f2 LabVIEW on Windows 7 32 bit.

  • Displays the value of the variable user based on the advanced run-time action

    Captivate 8.0.1.242 - Windows 7 64 bit

I need to display the total duration of the captivate file in a text caption. To do this, after a bit of googling, discovered this total = cpInfoFrameCount/cpInfoFPS. I created a user variable called 'v_totalTime' and in stocks advanced created a standard action called 'totalTime' and added a phrase v_totalTime = cpInfoFrameCount/cpInfoFPS.

Now the weird part is, I don't know how this user variable appears as text. In the text of the legend, when I hit $$ v_totalTime$ $ and overview slides in captivate, the value is not displayed. So I think, the advanced action is not get triggered. So how to get this working?

Even the blog posts that are older than 4 years still not seen at this time.

Every action has to be triggered by an event: events / Actions (Advanced) - Captivate blog

In this case, you can use the event to enter for each slide. This means that the value of v_TotalTime will be refreshed only at the beginning of the slide.

Another tip: type a variable in a text (shape or legend) container ever but still use the X button in the composition of the Panel properties, tab Style role. This will prevent any typos (variables are case-sensitive) and you can also change the default length that will be used to display the variable.
