  I am running Win7 32 on a Dell laptop. Last week my hard drive failed, I replaced and restoring a backup. Everything works fine, but I started to have a 'not genuine' warning, even if the properties of the computer system is activated. I reinstalled the product key and a message of successful validation. Now, trying to run Win Update, it crashes. I tried to run the system update readiness tool, but received the error 0xc8000247. Read the other threads, I went to install Intel Rapid Storage drivers, but found that I do not run any of the supported controllers. OK, so what I do now? Here is my WGA report.   I let go much too long, but about 3 weeks ago, when using Security Essentials, I acquired a Trojan Virus.   The HD is a series of Samsung 840 SSHD with monitoring software showing no problem.  I ran the chkdsk process anyway, 0 bad sectors.

  Frustrated and with my basics of security now turned off, I pressed the red button: reinstall OS, total wipeout and re - install HD.

  All downloads and applications downloaded well and completely.  All is well.  Don't know what happened, but the wipe has been around...  So far.

  I seem to have the same problem as you. Did you use the intel driver update utility (found nothing for me) or do you need to manually install the drivers? You have a link that you can send me?

  I made a kind of updated about 6 months there are these drivers intel for some reason that I can't remember, but don't know exactly what I did. Also, about 3 months ago, I replaced my fault hard drive with an SSD and put more RAM in but did not expect that it is a problem. I tried a number of bugs.

  I ran Checkdisk which found nothing and ran option SFC/scannow which says some files were corrupted and ran the SFCFix who gave the same error TCPMON.ini like you, but that's all, everything was fine.

• Why Windows Genuine Validation code is not available?

  I upgraded to Win7 Pro, then tried to download XP Mode. It compels me to do a validation of Windows. It will download the file GenuineCheck.exe. When I run it, I get the following error:

• Lenovo T420 with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit - Windows Genuine validation failure

  I have directly from Lenovo Lenovo T420 bought end of 2011 which began recently to show the message that its not running Genuine Windows.  He fails to pass the validation test.  He also stopped treatment of the Windows updates since December 15, 2014.  All fail with the error 800706F7.  I don't know if that is related to the failure of the validation.  I would like to get the Windows validation problem all solved first guess that they may be related.  Is attached a copy of the report full diag.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Update: called Microsoft validation and validation of phone attempt to id software.  Has been informed by the agent that the product ID has been blocked by Lenovo.  Suggested I upgrade Windows, purchase a new license or call Lenovo.  Release with support from Lenovo and told me that they have no way to block a product code.  Suggested I try an upgrade of BIOS or reload the operating system.  Have you the BIOS upgrade result has not changed.  Also updated the driver Intel Rapid Storage, but again no change on the system.  Read messages where that fixed similar symptoms).  Latest report of diag is the same as that posted here. Operation of the system with the exception of the issue with the message on non-genuine software and updates of Windows does not not error code 800706F7.  Looking for more information.

  Update: 2/29/2015 KB3004394 was not as installed on this system.  I ran a system scan and it shows the following missing components. There are several entries in the CBS for the latter.  I have included only the first two entries in the newspaper here.

• Non-genuine windows, different twist error.

  Recently I was making a pop up window saying: I'm not running genuine windows. If I open the system properties and scroll down to the Windows Activation, it shows the product key and says windows is activated. If I click on change product key nothing happens.   Do you have any software installed record cleaning? If so, uninstall it, registry software is known to tamper with Windows activation technologies.

  What Antivirus utility you installed?

  If you have Avast, AVG installed, remove them and move on. They have been known to mess with Activation Technologies.

  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:
  I suggest you try run MGADiag.exe and check.
  See this link:

  If this does not help, then use method 2.

  Method 2:
  Please follow these steps and check the issue.

  a. Click Start, type cmd in the start search box.

  b. right click on cmd and select run as administrator.

  c. type the following command at the command prompt and press ENTER.

  net stop sppsvc

  (It may ask you if you're sure, select Yes)

  Note: the Software Protection service may not be running, that's ok.

  d. type the following command one by one and press ENTER after each command:

  CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

  Rename tokens.bar tokens.dat

  CD %windir%\system32

  net start sppsvc

  slui.exe

  e. Activation of Windows dialog box will appear. You may need to reactivate and to re - enter your product key or Activation can occur automatically.

• Does not work Windows genuine' with a 0x8004fe21 error code

  Gerry, I have the same problem described by Joachim and rvc2.  It began with me after KB3004394 has been installed on 10 December.  KB3024777 has been installed on 13 December, but I still get the pop up saying "this computer is not running genuine Windows" with an 0x8004fe21 error code.

  Updates appear in the history of update of review, but do not appear in the installed updates.

  I also have a Dell machine and this is certainly a legitimate copy of Windows 7 (64-bit SP1) with the product code for Windows under the battery cover.

  Any solution yet?
