Norton Internet Security - Remove

How can I completely remove Norton Internet Security of Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-243. I used Norton Removal Tool, but the Security Center show that I have Norton Antivrus protection.

Hello

I think you wanted to remove the Antivirus software, but this software runs in the background and, therefore, you re not able to reinstall.
First remove the Antivirus from the background, then go to the and and remove the software and it remove the application.

I think this should work.

  • Is it possible to recover hundreds of mails that have disappeared from my Inbox after it has been quarantined today by Norton Internet Security?

I received an infected email this morning which resulted in Norton Internet Security quarantine inbox. All received emails are gone now from the Inbox (with the exception of two who apparently arrived just before the infected message).
    (1) is it possible to recover the E-mails lost without re-infection of the Inbox?
    (2) how can I avoid this happening again? Until today, the infected emails have simply removed by Norton Internet Security on arrival without all the previous messages being lost in the Inbox.
I would be very grateful for help.

you force Nortons of UN-setting in the file quarantine.
Then, you create an exception for Norton analyzes the folders that contain your Thunderbird profile, so it is not repeated.

Be aware that the infection is not as severe as the cure. Maybe you can find someone to Semantec to explain how an email in Thunderbird can infect anything unless you physically open an infected attachment that Norton should catch when it is written in the temp folder before opening.

I lost a lot of time talking to corporate cretins to Semantec and they charge just "this is another line of defense" when asked for more details. Why, because they can simply justify not e-mail Scanner in any other terms. Enjoy it servers little or not by the challenges of usability and convenience.

This "mail" was written on your drive hard until Semantec has managed to make a mess of things. It's a little late don't you think saying "you have an infection. Do they expect also for stuff in your browser to be written on the disc? You bet they do. Where is the preventive surveillance to data transmissions that prevents infection before it is written on your drive?

  • Qosmio G30 freezes at startup of Norton Internet Security 2008

Norton Internet Security 2008 will freeze my computer because soon, it attempts to load and the only way to do is to restart the system by pressing the on/off key.

My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio G30-177 (model No. PQG32E-02G022GR) with Vista Ultimate and pre-installed NIS2007. I have no problem with this NIS2008 version on my other laptop (Qosmio F10 - PQF10E-02300JGR, WinXP MCE).
NIS2007 works well on my G30 and I have no problems at all, but more recent versions of NIS seem to be in conflict with my system:

    1. I am able to install and run the new version, download all updates and adjusting the settings. Maybe, a couple days later my computer freezes after start in exactly when the NIS tray icon appears. For a few seconds there is simply no response of the system at all and the LED of my laptop show that any HD activity has ceased. After having been inactive during those seconds, the cooling fan will start to operate at maximum power, creating a huge noise that I never experienced before, not even while the CPU was operating at 100% for a while due to other programs. Force a reboot, that's all I can do.

    2. now, this time, I rebooted my laptop successfully even once (took a few attempts) and it all of a sudden not freeze. Then I disabled the firewall and auto-protect at all times, so there was no freezing at startup and I just had to enable both the firewall and auto-protect after start manually. In order to avoid the gel again after the reboot, I always disabled NIS before shutdown. For one or two days of workaround has been quite successful.

    3. all of a sudden, after one or two days, this work around will become useless, because the system begins to freeze again at the time of the icon is displayed. In this case, restart has no effect at all, and NIS will continue to freeze at startup. I also tried to prevent form from NIS to ccApp.exe run automatically at startup (administrative tools > system configuration > "Startup" tab). It's successful and my laptop is able to start normally, but if later I try to start NIS manually, it will freeze again.

I had this problem since NIS2008 just came out, so I thought that at the same time an update Windows or Norton may have solved the problem, but this weekend I gave another NIS2008 trying without success. I'm pretty sure that the problem is not caused by other software than Windows or Norton, because I also tried to install NIS after a full system recovery, so I've only preinstalled NIS2007 and Vista on my laptop. I use Norton removal tool and follow the instructions to uninstall before attempting to install the new version of course.
My last hope was that the version of NIS2009beta somehow would not freeze my system, but it does. It does not matter if I try to start 2008 or version 2009beta, the problem is exactly the same.

What really motivates me almost crazy is the fact that NIS works perfectly for a while, then needs enough small workaround, and then after some time completely refuses to work. In these two days I do not change system settings, install or uninstall programs or doing whatever it is that I felt might conflict with NIS...
So far, I have no idea of the solution and have again use NIS2007.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Hello

To be honest I don t use the Norton internet security because it slows down the performance of the laptop and he needs too many resources.
I used the NIS06 and after several months of use I removed it from my system for the reasons mentioned above.

I put really know what might be a problem with your Norton Internet Security but I guess its associated software question maybe there are a few compatibility issues with vista and NIS08. Who knows...

In my opinion, you should first check the Symantec Web site for more details.
Maybe these questions are mentioned somewhere in the FAQ section and maybe some updates or patches are available.

    Hello

The registry entries must be corrected by reinstalling the driver from the sensor as would any configuration error.  First, download the setup of the sensor driver and save the package on your desktop.  Then, if the current entry appear in programs and features (it is often labeled as driver validity sensor), it may be best to uninstall the existing driver first, restart the computer, install the driver by double clicking on the package that you saved on your desktop and restart the laptop.  You should find it works now.

  • HP envy 14-2090eo: Norton Internet Security causing BSOD

    Hi HP experts...

The first time a bought a laptop, I have Norton Internet Security installed my antivirus preferred, but on this laptop, I have experienced the BSOD, when opening the software Norton Internet Security to access the user interface, and this problem has existed since the Internet Explorer 10 and 11 happened, so im still only able to have installed the version of Internet Explorer 9 to avoid the BSOD´s. I used the Norton Internet Security 2004 and only known problems on this laptop, I also have many cell members and friends families, where I also installed this antivirus on and also a couple of them are HP products, but they do not know these problems? Can anyone tell me if there is a way to work around this problem, so I can install the latest Internet Explorer, I guess there are a lot of security better connected for new versions of Solution Explorer, so may not be the safest way to have IE installed 9... I guess it must be a problem of Hp with this specific model.

Hope to hear from you soon - best regards Hpenvy1

IMHO, uninstall Norton using the Norton removal tool can perform the required updates.  Then run Norton Power Eraser. It would in my opinion to use a different anti-virus.  A lot can be installed to a "30 day trial" until you find one that you like.  If you are resolved to Norton, give them a chance to fix or to visit their forums.  If it's a widespread problem, others will have similar problems.

  • XP SP3 Security Center will not suddenly Norton Internet Security recognize?

Windows XP SP3 Security Center won't recognize all of a sudden of Norton Internet Security. It has been fine for years. I don't have a virus.

    How to fix problem?

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forum. I understand that XP SP3 Security Center will not recognize Norton Internet Security. I would like to help solve you the problem.

This problem may occur if there is an inconsistency in the system files or folders associated with XP Security Center. Follow these methods:

    Method 1.

Disable the firewall and check if that helps.

How can I turn on or turn off the firewall in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later versions? : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283673

Note: you should not disable Windows Firewall, unless you have another firewall is activated. Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.

    Method 2.

    Rename the storage folder.

1 - Go to control panel, and then open administrative tools.

    2 - click on Services.

3-go down to Windows Management Instrumentation and stop this service.

    4. stop the Security Center service.

    5-exit and close all windows.

    6. right click on start and select explore.

    7. go down to C:\windows or Winnt\system32\wbem\repository.

8 remove only the storage folder

9-go Back To Services and restart the WMI and the Security Center service.

    10. close all windows and restart the computer.

Let us know if you need assistance with any windows problem. We will be happy to help you.

  • I need to uninstall Norton internet security, but can not find it listed w / other icons

I'm currently renewing my nod 32 eset security. I should be able to go to select Norton internet security icon & control panel & remove it w / the norton removal tool. But I don't see that it listed w / all the other icons in the control panel. ESET told me its here & should be deleted.

If you can't remove it from Add or remove programs, then you will need to use NORTON REMOVAL TOOL. It detects all versions and products of norton and delete them.

Click on the link above and click on softpedia secure download (US).
    Download it and run it.
    Restart your computer.
Now, you will be able to install Eset.
  • Why my PC slow down after loading of Norton Internet security 2012

    Windows Search

Why my PC slow down after loading of Norton Internet security 2012

Because Norton is a Devourer of resources. I would say deleting and using a user-friendly program over Windows.

Norton and McAfee are the two least friendly Windows security and swine resource to start programs. My ISP offers the McAfee security suite for free and I refuse to use it.

I used to use Avast in conjunction with Windows Defender, (still a decent option), but since MSE became of age, I have used which. MSE is an anti-virus, Anti-Spyware and Anti-Malware program all in one. IMO, it is a program MS got it wrong. And all of these options are freeware.

If you choose to give it a try, download and save the MSE. Remove Norton and install MSE.

Be sure to check with their website for instructions and removal tools to remove ANY legitimate product security.

  • Norton Internet Security should be included in the list of startup programs?

    When I go to:

I don't see anything there about Norton or Symantec.
I see it running in the list of services, but NOT in the list of the startup programs

Must show in the start up programs?

The entries you see in the list of services are service installed to work with the Internet Services of Norton. They are not in the program.

It is unlikely that RealPlayer is keep a copy separate from your photos. It is probably just reference your pictures folder. In this case, you can just uninstall RealPlayer.

Everything you deleted must be in your Recycle Bin unless you have emptied. If this isn't the case, you can try this program freehttp://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva . The chances of getting them back are reduced more you use your computer.

You should keep a copy of your data on an external hard drive. What would you do if your computer crashed or was stolen?

  • Problems with the closure, by opening the Task Manager and Norton Internet Security. Help, please!

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 with Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit). Until Monday, there is no problem whatsoever with my computer at all. I have not installed or uninstalled, whatever it be, changed settings, done anything differently with my computer. Suddenly it now "hangs" on the screen of closing down. I'll try to reboot or stop using the menu start, and it will stay on this screen indefinitely. Now, I have to manually turn off the computer. I spent on the Support page and studied the Performance issues, and all I get is I have Visual settings that interfere with closing... except my Visual settings have not changed in any way. In addition, I can not properly update my computer or do a system restore because the computer will shut down.

In addition, the Task Manager will appear no more. I'll press ctrl alt del and nothing appears, just the green icon in the corner of the screen. If I try to right click, no response.

I tried to do a full system scan in Norton Internet Security but she "leaves" scanning. It will scan correctly when I'm in safe mode, but it comes with no virus, trojan or other problem.

So in essence, I tried everything I can think of to fix my computer nothing works. It was working perfectly before this week. I have no idea where to go. Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,

    G

    Hello

    Method 1.
First check to see if there are external devices attached to the computer, if so remove and check.

    Method 2.
    Step A.

Start your computer in safe mode and check if it starts.

    Step B.
If it starts on the desktop in safe mode and then set your computer to the clean boot and check if it starts successfully. If it starts successfully can be a third-party application or service is causing the problem. We can use the approach 50 / 50 to narrow down the root cause of the problem.

See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 3.
I recommend to run the restore of the system in safe mode and check if it works very well.
    Reference:
    System Restore: frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions
Note: If you use system restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can not undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point if any.

    I hope this helps.
