no fingerprint reader after fixing Norton Internet Security

I just got a dv6tqe of Pavilion, and there was a problem with the protection of Norton Internet Security SONAR that required me to remove the Norton software and then re - install.  However, once I did this, the fingerprint reader no longer works.  The computer says there is no biometric device installed on the computer.  How can I do to fix this problem?

Hello

The registry entries must be corrected by reinstalling the driver from the sensor as would any configuration error.  First, download the setup of the sensor driver and save the package on your desktop.  Then, if the current entry appear in programs and features (it is often labeled as driver validity sensor), it may be best to uninstall the existing driver first, restart the computer, install the driver by double clicking on the package that you saved on your desktop and restart the laptop.  You should find it works now.

Kind regards

Sorry, but if you have so much trouble for me the means of logic alone to solve this is to use recovery delivered DVDs and reinstall the OS. After 20 minutes, you will have own OS preinstalled.

After making this all preinstalled delete stuff you don't need, install all the applications you need for your work and be happy again.

  • HP Envy M6 Simplepass finger reader will not work after you uninstall Norton internet security.

I've seen a few problems to do with the drive of finger and Norton internet security, but I couldn't find a solution to the problem. I looked on biometric devices and it says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »

I've been on the re HP Recovery section - install drivers and applications and reinstalled the HP Simplepass program, but I do not uninstall before that I did and that's maybe why it did not work.

What to do to make the finger drive working again?

    Kind regards

    Maddie

Ok. So I got a new laptop that has a fingerprint sensor. I opened the Recovery Manager and see that there are TWO pieces of software that need to be installed/reinstalled.
    (1) the validity of the pilot sensor of fingerprint in the drivers section.
    (2) the SimplePass software in the software section.

Most of the drivers and software in the Recovery Manager do not need to be uninstalled first - the installation package should do this automatically.

If you have not already done so, install the driver of validity using Recovery Manager and restart your computer.

Why my PC slow down after loading of Norton Internet security 2012

Because Norton is a Devourer of resources. I would say deleting and using a user-friendly program over Windows.

Norton and McAfee are the two least friendly Windows security and swine resource to start programs. My ISP offers the McAfee security suite for free and I refuse to use it.

I used to use Avast in conjunction with Windows Defender, (still a decent option), but since MSE became of age, I have used which. MSE is an anti-virus, Anti-Spyware and Anti-Malware program all in one. IMO, it is a program MS got it wrong. And all of these options are freeware.

If you choose to give it a try, download and save the MSE. Remove Norton and install MSE.

  • Is it possible to recover hundreds of mails that have disappeared from my Inbox after it has been quarantined today by Norton Internet Security?

I received an infected email this morning which resulted in Norton Internet Security quarantine inbox. All received emails are gone now from the Inbox (with the exception of two who apparently arrived just before the infected message).
    (1) is it possible to recover the E-mails lost without re-infection of the Inbox?
    (2) how can I avoid this happening again? Until today, the infected emails have simply removed by Norton Internet Security on arrival without all the previous messages being lost in the Inbox.
I would be very grateful for help.

you force Nortons of UN-setting in the file quarantine.
Then, you create an exception for Norton analyzes the folders that contain your Thunderbird profile, so it is not repeated.

Be aware that the infection is not as severe as the cure. Maybe you can find someone to Semantec to explain how an email in Thunderbird can infect anything unless you physically open an infected attachment that Norton should catch when it is written in the temp folder before opening.

I lost a lot of time talking to corporate cretins to Semantec and they charge just "this is another line of defense" when asked for more details. Why, because they can simply justify not e-mail Scanner in any other terms. Enjoy it servers little or not by the challenges of usability and convenience.

This "mail" was written on your drive hard until Semantec has managed to make a mess of things. It's a little late don't you think saying "you have an infection. Do they expect also for stuff in your browser to be written on the disc? You bet they do. Where is the preventive surveillance to data transmissions that prevents infection before it is written on your drive?

  • Norton Internet Security 2009 startup errors caused by SYMEFA. SYS

I have some read messages about problems with SYMEFA and Norton Norton Internet Security 2009. SYS and I started to have today after installing to NIS2009 today.

I have a laptop Dell XPS M170 which is about 3 years old.

About 2 weeks ago, I upgraded the hard drive to a 250 GB hard drive and installed a clean copy of Windows Vista Ultimate, Ultimate of MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project.

I waited to install NIS 2009 because I wanted to make sure that the system was stable.  I must admit, I was impressed by the speed of Vista is compared to XP and the system worked very well.

So, today, 04/01/2009, I decided to install NIS 2009.  Then, I got all the updates of Norton online.

NIS 2009 has started having problems right now and asked me to get more updates.  When I did, he says that my system is up to date.

I rebooted a couple of times hoping that it might clear up the problem, but he did not.  The stop the machine for the afternoon to do some other stuff.

Now, I can't boot the laptop in any mode.  I get the following message:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Windows Boot Manager

Windows could not start.  A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.  To solve the problem:

    1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2A chose your language settings, and then click "next".
    3. click on "Repair your computer."

If you don't have this disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really don't want to erase the hard drive and start over.

I was happy with Norton products for 20 years now and I hope you can help me with this.

I've also posted this question on the community.norton.com forum, but have not received a satisfactory response from them yet.

    Any ideas?

    Hi kellycharlton,

Thanks for posting your request on the Microsoft Answers site.

This problem may occur if a corrupted system file or a device driver file is missing or damaged.

To resolve this problem, you can consult the following steps:

    ·         Start the computer and press F8. In the Advanced Boot Options screen, select last good known Configuration and press ENTER. If Windows Vista does not start, then try to start safe mode.

    ·         Start the computer and press F8. In the Advanced Boot Options screen, select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.  If Windows Vista does not start safe mode, try a startup repair.

The Startup Repair tool can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or corrupted, which may prevent Windows from starting correctly.  The Startup Repair tool are available in the menu System Recovery Options on the Windows Vista installation disc.

For reference, the link below includes the steps of a startup repair.

    http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/5c59f8c1-b0d1-4F1A-AF55-74f3922f3f351033.mspx#ex

During the Startup Repair, you may be asked to select an option, as the tool tries to repair the problem. The Startup Repair process can also restart your computer, because it makes the repairs.

Please pass the status after the above steps so that we can provide additional assistance.

  • Norton Internet Security can't scan SSL email use. How can I ensure that I don't get a malware or a virus by opening an email in Thunderbird?

Norton Internet Security can't scan SSL email use. How can I ensure that I don't get a malware or a virus by opening an email in Thunderbird? I read that you don't have to click on a link to get malware, but that some e-mail may trigger the malware just by opening and reading. Any suggestions to prevent the outbreak of malware emails? AOL Desktop software has its own built-in email scanner, but I am trying to get away with their software and to rely only on tuberculosis.

    Thank you

There are many aspects to this question.

First of all, by using SSL or TLS to send and receive emails is important because it prevents others from sniffing your login email. Especially if you use a device over wi - fi or on untrusted networks, it is essential, because if others get your email IDs, bad things can happen.

Of course, by using SSL or TLS with your mail server also protects the content of your email being captured by others, so it's good also.

Secondly, you are right that there may be threats to security in E-mail other than the attachments, even if attachments are usually the most dangerous. Your antivirus must protect you against bad attachments as to open them, they must be written to disk in a temporary folder, and your AV software jumps into action whenever a new file is added to the disk. You can also hedge your bets by using a two step approach: first save the attachment to disk and only after she survives the real-time AV scanning and then run it in the appropriate application.

Sometimes the content in the body of the message can trigger a vulnerability in your software e-mail or a plugin. As these known vulnerabilities, Mozilla is updating its software, but there always seems to be new problems discovered and it will never be perfect security. I don't know how useful email Scanner is for this problem.

    Hello

I studied a little more on Norton and Vista compatibility issues and the Symantec Norton Internet Security is certainly compatible with Vista!

Also, I found a document very useful Toshiba on this subject:
    Check this box:

It seems that the update of the Software Desktop SMS Installer version will help to address this problem.

  • Qosmio G30 freezes at startup of Norton Internet Security 2008

Norton Internet Security 2008 will freeze my computer because soon, it attempts to load and the only way to do is to restart the system by pressing the on/off key.

My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio G30-177 (model No. PQG32E-02G022GR) with Vista Ultimate and pre-installed NIS2007. I have no problem with this NIS2008 version on my other laptop (Qosmio F10 - PQF10E-02300JGR, WinXP MCE).
NIS2007 works well on my G30 and I have no problems at all, but more recent versions of NIS seem to be in conflict with my system:

    1. I am able to install and run the new version, download all updates and adjusting the settings. Maybe, a couple days later my computer freezes after start in exactly when the NIS tray icon appears. For a few seconds there is simply no response of the system at all and the LED of my laptop show that any HD activity has ceased. After having been inactive during those seconds, the cooling fan will start to operate at maximum power, creating a huge noise that I never experienced before, not even while the CPU was operating at 100% for a while due to other programs. Force a reboot, that's all I can do.

    2. now, this time, I rebooted my laptop successfully even once (took a few attempts) and it all of a sudden not freeze. Then I disabled the firewall and auto-protect at all times, so there was no freezing at startup and I just had to enable both the firewall and auto-protect after start manually. In order to avoid the gel again after the reboot, I always disabled NIS before shutdown. For one or two days of workaround has been quite successful.

    3. all of a sudden, after one or two days, this work around will become useless, because the system begins to freeze again at the time of the icon is displayed. In this case, restart has no effect at all, and NIS will continue to freeze at startup. I also tried to prevent form from NIS to ccApp.exe run automatically at startup (administrative tools > system configuration > "Startup" tab). It's successful and my laptop is able to start normally, but if later I try to start NIS manually, it will freeze again.

I had this problem since NIS2008 just came out, so I thought that at the same time an update Windows or Norton may have solved the problem, but this weekend I gave another NIS2008 trying without success. I'm pretty sure that the problem is not caused by other software than Windows or Norton, because I also tried to install NIS after a full system recovery, so I've only preinstalled NIS2007 and Vista on my laptop. I use Norton removal tool and follow the instructions to uninstall before attempting to install the new version of course.
My last hope was that the version of NIS2009beta somehow would not freeze my system, but it does. It does not matter if I try to start 2008 or version 2009beta, the problem is exactly the same.

What really motivates me almost crazy is the fact that NIS works perfectly for a while, then needs enough small workaround, and then after some time completely refuses to work. In these two days I do not change system settings, install or uninstall programs or doing whatever it is that I felt might conflict with NIS...
So far, I have no idea of the solution and have again use NIS2007.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Hello

To be honest I don t use the Norton internet security because it slows down the performance of the laptop and he needs too many resources.
I used the NIS06 and after several months of use I removed it from my system for the reasons mentioned above.

I put really know what might be a problem with your Norton Internet Security but I guess its associated software question maybe there are a few compatibility issues with vista and NIS08. Who knows...

In my opinion, you should first check the Symantec Web site for more details.
Maybe these questions are mentioned somewhere in the FAQ section and maybe some updates or patches are available.

    Good bye
