Norton Security: install Windows 10 on HP probook 640 g1 with Norton security

I bought Windows 7 Pro HP probook 640 http://www.newegg.com/ g1 and security http://www.anti-virus4u.com/ Norton can install Windows 10? I contact Norton support, the new version should support but that on my HP probook 640 g1 drivers if I install Windows 10 and Norton security? Can I download and install new drivers?

A word of warning.  Windows 10 is a technical preview version and should not be installed on your primary work computer.  There is no official driver for it and you will have to rely on the generic drivers, that settles it.  All programs will have to be resettled, including Norton.

The official RTM version should be stopped before the end of the year.

Don't forget to create your recovery discs before you do anything if you want to factory restore your system or create an image backup of hard drive using Macrium reflect Freeware:

I had the same problem and now works properly. That's what I did:

1 position (BIOS) setting to IDE compatible mode

    2. install XPP as usual.

    3. install the drivers for the chipset Intel (sp46692)

    4. download and run softpaq for Intel Matrix Storage Manager (sp45106)

    5. go to the controller Start > Run > devmgmt.msc > IDE ATA/ATAPI

    > Port controller 5 series/3400 Series 6 Chipset

    6. set to update manually the folder c:\swsetup\sp45106, with option "have a disk.

    7. Select "PCHM SATA AHCI Controller 6 port".

Windows says it is not compatible, but it will be restarted from the nest

8 restart the computer, and set its mode controller SATA (BIOS)

9 complete! Windows does not boot ok

I hope you understand my instructions: English is not my mother tongue and may be poorly written. In any case, it worked for me.

  • After installing Windows 7, the option to dual boot with my Windows XP already installed is not available.

PROBLEM TO DUAL BOOT XP AND 7... 1 XP

EasyBCD to add Windows 7 in the start menu. Note: after you have installed Windows 7, you should have a folder located in the Windows XP partition named C:\Boot (BCD store) that's what Windows 7 and XP boot build to start with. Easy BCD will list each operating system in the BCD store and also allow you to add an additional OS (in your case, Windows 7) and set the default OS after a 30 second delay.

    Hello

Why not use Xpmode with Virtual PC, both are free. (You will have to use XP 32-bit SP3.)

Make sure you that have enabled in bios first virtualization.

  • Install Windows 7 on the new hard drive with USB operating system recovery?

I have an Alienware 2015 15 which does not come with a CD player. I install a new hard drive (SSD 2280 m2), so the question is how to install WIndows 7.

While Microsoft offers an OS IOS for WIndows 8 download that you can put on a USB (with dell, I think that it automatically pulls the product key of BONE off the coast of the motherboard?) this IOS download is not available for Windows 7.

So the question is the recovery USB OS offered by dell will allow me to do a fresh install of Windows 7 on a new hard drive in the laptop even USB from recovery of the BONES came with. My last resort is to buy a new copy of windows 7 and a USB external CD/DVD drive.

TLDR: OS Recovery USB offered by dell will install Windows 7 on a new hard drive.

The factory restore USB will work on another drive. I did this procedure with the media created from the latest version of Dell backup and restore on my Inspiron 13 7347 and demonstrated the creation of media and installation on a new SSD:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/Dell-backup-and-recovery/

Since you are using use Alienware Alienware Respawn. Alienware respawn is very similar to Dell backup and restore.

  • Re-install Windows 7 from Dell reinstallation DVD fails with "cannot configure Windows for your hardware.

I have to do a ground up to Windows 7, re - install media re-installing Win7 provided, due to the failure of the hard drive (so no available recovery partition).  The machine is a XPS 9000 (circa 2010).   The first phase (partitioning, file copy and extraction) works very well.  However, when I restart in Windows for the first time since the hard drive, I get a message that Windows install can not configure Windows to my hardware.  The only option is to recognize and to restart (which gives the same message).  Subsequent reboots just to say that the Windows installation cannot be completed and restart to install Windows.

Clues to this topic?  I have no new hardware in the machine which would be incompatible with this disc to re - install (admittedly old and probably non - SP1).  I wonder if the drive is missing in fact support that they put in the installation image factory.  My next step is to get a Dutch Win 7 installation disc (probably with SP1) to see if it works.  Other thoughts?

Belarc Advisor only gives you the product key of the registry which, for installation OEM Dell will be a SLP key. This will be different from the key on the COA and can be activated manually by entering it during installation.

The key on the certificate of authenticity can be introduced during the installation and this activation requires a call to Microsoft.

Key/OEM SLP activation can be applied to a retail facility without a product key by using the program and cert ABR files which I saved for installs with the Dell reinstallation DVD:

Although Windows view (s) and begins to install it on the hard drive, it could be an art of hiccups the end with the HDD and loading SATA drivers can always solve this problem.

  • Install Windows 8 on a partition fresh bootcamp with license but not DVD

If my hard drive MBPro renounced me, and I replaced it with an SSD. The old drive was a Bootcamp partition with a legal license of Windows 8 Pro (I guess that 64-bit), I updated to a version of Windows 7 DVD online. Now, I want my rear windows. My DVD player given me another year, so there first installation that Win7 is not an option. [Insert joke Apple here.] No idea how I can legally re - install Windows 8.0 or 8.1 my bootcamp partition? I think I need a .iso to install on a USB drive throughout OSX.

    Thank you

    WARNING:

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8.

Aside from that, if you must. ISO for Windows 8, you will need to download it to a Windows-based PC using the upgrade wizard, the computer must be running Windows Vista or Windows 7/8/8.1

Another option is to download the trial of 90 days of Windows Enterprise 8.1, which is provided as one. ISO file and install it in Boot Camp and use it to facilitate the download of the. ISO for Windows 8, which then allows you to do a clean install on the Windows Enterprise 8.1 90 day trial.

  • Hard disk formatted, freshly installed Windows 8, but it does not work with the old key

I had bought a Lenovo Z570 two years back, with Original Windows 7 Home Premium.

When Windows 8 released in November 2012, I had bought and upgraded online for her.

I had used the Windows 8 since then. Yesterday, due to various problems, I had to format my hard drive, and when I finally managed to install Windows 8 on my laptop again, it does not allow me to activate windows 8 using my normal key (he says that this key did not work)

It was the key in the email from the seller, and I have an e-mail, which has a Bill to prove.
I guess this could be due to the PC 1 by purchase clause, however, it's the same PC (more like laptop). So I do not understand why I would not be allowed to activate the software I used earlier on the same laptop still on the same laptop after installing it.

Please get to me as soon as possible if there is a solution.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey! Thanks for your help, but I had refreshed my windows 8 in the meantime and connected to the internet after that. and then when I followed your instructions and run slui.exe, it says that windows is activated. so I guess that the problem is solved.

  • Install Windows 10 days not enough disk space with 9

    Hello

As a fan of Firefox, I got my XP Pro machine die. New construction with Windows 10 creates a volume of questions that it is difficult to take.

In need of a mail client, move from Outlook Express, I decided on Thunderbird. When I try to install it in a location of my choice on one partition other then C:, it says 9 GB of free space, which need 80 MB and told there is not enough space.

    Can you help me?

Well well, OK then, I answer my own question:

It was a very simple solution. Get the current version (which is in my case 38.2,0 - while I got the error with 38.1.0 that I had gotten a few days earlier, I think). Works like a dream.

    And look so cool (white).

And in the case where you need help: click on top bar somewhere, ask to customize, and then find the calendar icon. Drag it to the top and voila, all of a sudden you also schedule above tab.

Everything just great, thank you, Peter

  • XP Pro ~ not connect to the internet and try to install Windows 8, CD player does not work with discs of 32 or 64.

I have Windows XP Professional as the operating system.

The computer used to be connected to our network of offices. My wife brought her home computer, and to my knowledge because the computer was not connected to this network for several months, there is a security problem that will not allow it to connect to the internet. To connect to the router, it will not provide access to the internet.
The computer sat for several months, as it was useless to do not be able to connect to the internet.
We bought Windows 8 as a solution to overcome this problem we are not computer scientists.
We strive to use the disc drive is a Sony CD - RW disc. It works fine with any disc in there BUT NOT disks of 32 or 64-bit.
The disc of going just in and nothing else, I can load it, cannot Explorer, nothing. It's like nothing is there.
Any help would be huge, 1) either you connect back or 2) get the installation to work.
I wanted to make a clear 100% boot, but I do know and am confused about ISO / ZIP bootdisk stuff with no internet connect.
