Not found VMware Tools Ubuntu 10.10 header files

Hello.

During the installation of VMware (VMware Workstation 6.5) on Ubuntu 10.10 tools, I got the error in config that the corresponding to the kernel running C header files are not found.

There is no default location:

/ usr/src/linux/include

How can I solve this?

Thank you

  • Do not install vmware tools

    VMware dear users,.

    I'm quite new to vmware players.

    My host system is OpenSuse 11.3 and I want to run Windows 7 (64) as a guest operating system. The windows installation went without any problems, but I am unable to have a display full screen of my guest operating system. I read somewhere on the web that it could be due to the fact that I have not installed VMWARE tools. When you click on "install VMWARE tools" I get the followign error.

    Component not found on the update server. Contact VMware Support or your system administrator.

    I use VMWARE player 3.1.3 build-324285.

    Has anyone experienced the same issue?

    Thank you all for your help.

    Kind regards

    This is what happens:

    1. you have a linked with illustrator file or the pictures in

    2. you save the file as an Illustrator PDF

    3. you move or delete one or more related images

    4. you open Illustrator PDF in illustrator and it asks you to replace any missing linked files

    ?

    I don't see how you could think that this is not normal. There is a link to your file to a particular file path, and you move or delete it. Illustrator then asks what you want to do about replacement.

    A blog at http://laptopbisnis.blogspot.com/2009/04/ubuntu-904-beta-in-vmware-fusion.html this problem and the solution is to change a line in the file page.c, re - tar file updated the and then restart the installation of VMWare tools. When I try to re-run the installation of VMWare tools, however, I get the following error:

    The following VMware kernel modules were found on your system that have been
    not installed by Setup of VMware.  Please, remove them and then run this
    installation program again.
    vmxnet
    vmblock

    vmmemctl
    Be - ' rm /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/misc/ & lt; ModuleName & gt;. {o, k}'
    The execution is canceled.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    The instructions in the blog worked well to solve the problems of hgfs.

    However, I'd suggest the following sequence:

    a. run vmware - uninstall - tools.pl (if you get what other messages on modules installed)

    b. create the vmware-tools-distrib directory

    c. apply the hotfix according to the directives of the blog page

    d. run vmware - install.pl

    If all else fails, follow the suggestion of the error message to delete the modules 'by hand' and then re-run the installation

  • Registration of the VMWare Tools? No created log file

    Hello

    I have SuSE Linux with VMWare Tools.

    I add in the /etc/vmware-tools/tools.conf

    [record]

    Journal = true

    log.file="/var/log/VMwareTools.log".

    log. Level = Debug

    But the file does not create or write.

    What I did wrong?

    Is it a problem that the 'free' VMWareTools was insalled before?

    I would like to know why the Scripts:

    / usr/sbin/pre-freezescript and/usr/sbin/postthaw-script

    are not start if I run a snapshot

    Thank you

    You configuration in /etc/vmware-tools/tools.conf should look like this:

    [record]
    Journal = true
    vmtoolsd. Level = debug
    vmtoolsd. Handler = file

    vmtoolsd. Data = /var/log/vmtoolsd.log

    See the following article:

    Enabling debug logging for VMware Tools within a guest operating system

    With these settings, I can get logging to work in a prompt of SuSe VM.

    I would like to know why the Scripts:

    / usr/sbin/pre-freezescript and/usr/sbin/postthaw-script

    are not start if I run a snapshot

    To start the file names must be:

    usr/sbin/pre-antifreeze-script

    usr/sbin/post-thaw-script

    These files must also be executable with 0755 permissions and owner root. Make sure that it is set to script files.

    Also you can check the file vmware.log of the VM on the data store that records messages related to the VM of ESXi host point of view.

    So I have

    Get-contexte.\vms.txt | % {update-tools $_ - Runasync}

    Then I'll check before virtual machines in virtual machine material

    Get-content.\vms.txt | % {get - vm $_} | Select ' Name,@{N='ToolStatus; E={$_. {{ExtensionData.Guest.ToolsStatus}}

    If they are ok,

    Then I'll make the material

    is there a better way to put it together in a script?

    It is ok, but not fully automated.

    So that the process is fully automated, you could do something like this

    $vms = get-Content.\vms.txt

    # Update VMware tools

    $taskTab = @ {}

    Update-tools - VM $vms - RunAsync | %{

    $taskTab.Add ($_.) ID, $null)

    }

    # Wait until all tasks are completed

    While ($taskTab.Count - not 0) {}

    $keys = $taskTab.GetEnumerator () | %{

    $status = get-task-Id $_. Key

    if($Status.) State - only ' works') {}

    $_. Key

    }

    }

    $keys | %{

    $taskTab.Remove($_)

    }

    sleep 5

    }

    # Update HW

    Set-VM - vm $vms - V9-confirm Version: $false

  • VMware tools create too many temporary files on the server TS user profiles

    Hi guys,.

    I have problems with the TS and Citrix servers where we have a restriction very strick to profile normally around 30 MB sizes. Temporary files of VMware tools normally use 10-18MB and this affects many users when opening large spreadsheets and we have to keep manually delete the files.

    You guys can suggest alternatives here please? Hosts run ESXi 4.1

    Thank you!

    You can work around the problem by changing a value in this registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order\

    Workaround disables the functionality of VMware shared folders in the virtual machine.  Because the feature is not supported by ESX Server or GSX server, turn it off is not a problem. However, if you migrate the virtual machine to the workstation, you not have access to VMware files shared unless you re-enable the feature.

    Warning: This procedure is to modify the registry. Incorrect changes to the registry can leave your system unstable or cannot run. Always back up the registry before you edit it and be cautious to make changes to the registry. VMware assumes no responsibility for the problems that may arise.

    1. Access the Windows registry. Choose Start > run, and then type regedit. The window of the Registry Editor opens.
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order\.
    3. Click ProviderOrder , and then click change. In the edit string value dialog box, change the data value chain and remove the word hgfs (or vmhgs).
      • For example, if the string data value contains LanmanWorkstation hgfs (or LanmanWorkstation, vmhgs) , and then replace it by LanmanWorkstation.
      • If the value data string contains hgfs (or vmhgfs), then delete it and leave the value data string empty.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Close the registry editor. Choose file > output.
    6. Restart the virtual machine.

    If you want to re-enable the VMware shared folders feature, add , hgfs (or vmhgs)

    at the end of the value data string, or a whole chain hgfs ( or vmhgs)

    If it is empty.  Alternatively, you can reinstall VMware Tools, using the Complete

    option to re - activate the shared folders.

  • Class not found in the applet using 2 jar files

    I have an applet that worked for many years as a stand alone or connecting directly to a database of derby on my home server. I just changed it to connect to MySQL on my ISP via AJAX and PHP server.

    I am now getting a class not found error in my browser, probably because I'm stuffing by the class path.

    The HTML code that I use to call the cmdlet is:
    <applet code="AMJApp.class"
    codebase="http://www.interactived.com/JMTalpha"
    archive="AMJ014.jar,plugin.jar"
    width="500"height="500"
    MAYSCRIPT style="border-width:0;"
    name="jsap" id="jsap"></applet>
    The AMJ014.jar contains the applet and the support of class files.

    The error message is strange for me because it refers to a class, I noticed on another web page, but that has nothing to do with my applet. In any case, the message in its entirety is:

    Hi, I bought an iMac that does not come with a CD/DVD drive more.

    I bought 5 Fusion so that I can run Windows in parallel with my mac. Fusion software 5. With a USB cam so that I can install it, upgrade 5 Fusion. Set up my vm but when I start it, it will fail to no operating system. I think it's because from what I can tell the files in config said .vmxf trying to install from a rom. CD Whhich I don't. I have a USB key where I copied the Windows XP Professional file and burn an .iso of the same. How to get a bootable OS to read my USB key, or can I use one of the comments the .iso image file. Every solution I found so far indicates to insert me my disc of the Windows operating system (Windows XP Pro) in the CD-ROM. iMac unfortunately I do not have a. Please provide a work-around.

    Thanks in advance,

    Drag and drop the ISO windows professional file in the window where you are prompted for the installation media.  It should work from there.

    Note that you can not just copy the CD to a folder or a DMG - you will need to download the ISO from microsoft directly, or image of a physical drive using disk utility.

    I tried reinstall drive, but it does not solve the problem.

    What can I do?

    Hello

    You mean that the new installation of operating system using Toshiba Recovery disk didn't?
    Hmmm, in this case, it seems like a RAM problem

    I searched a bit on the net about this error and found some info that might be linked to the faulty RAM memory.

    You should try to verify if a single one single module of RAM is affected.
    Otherwise you need to replace the two modules and then should try reinstalling the operating system.

  • File is not found when you try to open a file fdf email

    Hi all. I'm losing my mind here so I thought I would like to ask the community for help. I use Acrobat X Pro. I have a PDF that a new employee is supposed to fill. All fields work and record properly. There are 2 buttons at the end of the document defined on some areas to a specific e-mail e-mail address. When the user clicks on buttons, a .fdf file is attached to a new outlook message. The problem is when the recipient tries to open the attachment, Adobe Acrobat X Pro (and player XI) comes up with the following message is displayed:

    "The file you are trying to open contains comments or form data are supposed to be placed. This document cannot be found. It may have been moved or deleted. You want to browse to find this document? »

    The original file is located on a mapped network drive (the same drive letter on both computers). The same message is still on the computer that the e-mail was sent from. I saved the active document with 'Activate additional features'. I'm getting close to end. I need to be able to send email outside of the network, but do not have to include the entire PDF file because it has confidential information. Any suggestions?

    Since you will receive Marlon from outside, you will need to do is first of all, open the PDF file, and then import the FDF.

  • When I launch the acrobat reader via vb 6 "shell" statement, I receive an error msg "file Pdf not found". the path is right and the file exist .please help me!

    Private Sub Form_Load()

    CommandLine = ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat.

    currpath = 'D:\Data\Data-Bas\Dossier Médical\' & 'Analyses\ '.

    StartLine = command line & currpath & 'ana04042011.pdf '.

    Debug.Print startline

    REP = Shell (startline, 1).

    End

    The command line is incorrect. Since there is a space in the name of the file, you must use quotation marks around the name. Earlier versions of the player accepted this error, but it has been blocked, probably for security reasons.

    Shell is not the best way to do it. ShellExecute is a much safer and future.
