Not found Windows Photo Gallery after installing iTunes

After installation I tunes somehow I've lost my Windows Photo Gallery, how can I get it back?

Are you sure that it is lost? Slide on the right side of the menu screen and then click "Search" and type "windows photo gallery", to find. I hope it's here!

    Hi John,.

Thanks for the quick response!  After that, I tried the reallocation of photo gallery Windows Live as the default application for photo files.  So when I saw your response, I followed it for Windows Live.  I don't understand what you mean by "you'll have to recataloguer."  I changed the name of the file, and then open the photo gallery, according to the instructions.  But shortly after a stop too it (a few minutes with 'Live,' immediate versus with regular photo gallery).

What I started to do, is try to copy old photos from a CD on this relatively new computer.  They would not copy.  Then I tried to select 'Import pictures' rather than 'open folder '.  That's when I noticed the problem with the photo gallery Windows stops immediately.  It seems to be the same problem another user has pointed out - Data Execution Prevention stops the program.  But I can not turn off DEP for library - it will not allow him.  I tried an update, or a DEP-compatible version, but found none.

Here's a maybe stupid question: can I just move to another photo application?  Aren't my files always in there somewhere, accessible by another application?  Or am I totally off base regarding how it works?

    Thanks for the ideas!
    Veronica

New catalogue means when you rename or delete the .pd4 file... your Photo
Gallery will return to the way it was the first time that you opened. The
    Photo Gallery will fill again.

It may be interesting to try to uninstall Windows Live Photo Gallery (you can not
uninstall Windows Photo Gallery). And if it is a recent issue... it can be
worth a try to restore the system to an hour before it began.

Yes you can use another software... IrfanView, Picasa and FastStone Image
Spectator got three which may be worth a try (all free).

Your photos are probably in your pictures folder.

    Good luck.

  • I can't open the .jpg files from the desktop using "Windows Photo Gallery" as the default program. They open normally from nowhere elsewhere, but not directly from the desktop. No error, nothing happens.

If I right click 'open with' open with other programs like IE but not "Windows Photo Gallery". It is not a specific .jpg file, this is all .jpg files. For example... I have a .jpg file in a folder on my desktop, open folder double click, it will open in the "Windows Photo Gallery". Copy and paste the SAME file on the desktop, double-click on, nothing happens. I tried to restart, change the default value of IE, open the file, it opens, by default change to "Windows Photo Gallery" doesn't work... I am confused?

    Hello

Welcome to the community of Windows Vista answers.

    Method 1:

This can happen in the database that keeps track of all the photos and videos in your collection is damaged. You can rebuild your database by:

    (1) close Windows Live Photo Gallery

    (2) · Click Start

    (3) · Click on my computer

    (4) · Paste this address into the address field %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Photo Gallery

    (5) · Right-click Pictures.pd5

    (6) click on rename

    (7) · Change the name of the file to OLD_Pictures.pd5

    (8) · Restart the computer and then try to open the Windows Photo Gallery.

    Method 2:
Try using the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to check and repair corrupt system files.  To do this, follow these steps:

    How to run scan SFC

    1. click on the Start button

    2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories

    3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option

    4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option

5 If you have the enabled User Account Control (UAC) you will be asked to consent to the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

    6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

    7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.

    8. be patient because the analysis may take some time

    9. If all of the necessary files any replacement SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue

    10. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.

11 after the scan finished, close the command prompt window reboot the computer and check.

I was using an Acer laptop for a long time, and I was transferring files from my Canon T3i CR2.  I was able to view these files as thumbnails.  I recently bought a new computer, an HP Z220.  For some reason after that I have transfer files to the Z220, I am unable to see these pictures as thumbnails, which is very annoying when I know there is a special move, I want to watch.  Without a thumbnail, I have to open each file in the Canon software, which can be quite tedious.  How can I fix?  Is there a file on the old computer, which was developed without the knowledge of me, perhaps by default, but is setting a different setting now on the HP?  Two computers use Windows 7.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I wanted to come back here and to answer my own question, as I found the solution in a very short time. I went on Canon's site and downloaded a codec RAW update.  After installation, I was able to view CR2 (RAW) files on the newer computer.  I found the update through various research, after that I reduced the problem of the relationship between Canon's Digital Photo Professional and Windows Photo Gallery.  Maybe when I was using the Acer laptop, I had already downloaded the drivers updated to the DPP and he did not know or just do not do.  I do not know.  The thing is, while searching for an answer to this question, I found others have had the same problem and need a solution.  The short answer: you need to update the codec for Canon Digital Photo Professional RAW.  Here is a link to the download.

  • Windows Photo Gallery does not

    Hello

I use Windows Photo Gallery to see all my photos. Recently, when I tried to display a photo (in jpg format) file an error appears and says "error loading C:\ProgramFiles\WindowsPhotoGallery\PhotoViewer.dll the system cannot find message for message number 0 x %1 in the message for %2 file.»

Then when I tried to open the Windows Photo Gallery, this error pops up "cannot find 'C:\ProgramFiles\WindowsPhotoGallery\PhotoViewer.exe' make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again."

I don't remember when this started to happen, but I would be really grateful if someone could help me find a solution. Thank you.

  • Windows Photo Gallery does not save the edited images.

I have problems editing contrast and red-eye with Windows Photo Gallery.  I get rid of the red eye and change the brightness, close gallery and get an error message "an error prevents photo library to save this image."  The image isn't 'read only', it is a jpeg file, and I am the owner/user.  I edited many other images, but now it restricts me to do these as well as a few others that I've ever edit.  Any ideas on what's going on?

    Hello sjleite,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Community Forum.

If you encounter problems, saving images edited when you could before, I would ask

If you have installed the 3rd party software that may interfere with the Windows Photo Gallery.

    (1) If you have a third Party photo editing software, try removing it and see if that doesn't

    correct your problem.

    (2) other forums, I found several mentions to be a problem with a corrupted author field. Look in the file properties Details page. You can get the properties on the photo in question, scroll to the right section of author and origin and remove characters. Select apply and close the file. If the field of copyright has no characters to remove, try adding a few characters and then delete them.

    (3) the last thing to try is to check the permission on the Windows Photo Gallery.

Go at the beginning and list programs. Right-click on the icon of photo gallery windows live and go to properties. Select tab security put highlight the Everyone group, click the button change. Put a control under all permissions allow. Then do the same for the users group. Click on apply or OK.

If please post again and let us know if these suggestions helped solve your problem or if you need further assistance.
