  • Bootcamp not OEM

The Apple Web site described with details, how to install Windows using Boot Camp.

But it is not said that this is impossible with an OEM version.

    I got the following results:

A Facebook group on the theme "users Apple help Apple users" told me 'you are joke' and banned me.

Apple told me by phone, Windows in OEM (which I bought separately), does not work.

When I told my disadvantages, to buy Windows again or a PC, they could not offer me, to send money to my appstore account.

    Here now my warning.

Bootcamp can not handle OEM or versions test.

[Sarcasm] Great, my Apple becomes more expensive. I love to spend money.  [/ sarcasm]

Envy, using a taxi and the driver takes a longer, need to get more money and wasting my time and money.

I am trying to install Boot Camp. I went to the Apple website and it showed that Windows must be an ISO file. Years, I installed Boot Camp to a Mac, and I used the soft wear OEM. Unfortunately, you do not see. Don't blame Apple

  • OEM version of windows 7 can be installed on a new purched from hard drive on the market and not OEM (Dell)

My Dell laptop hard drive crashed. Now, I want to buy a new hard drive directly from the market (not dell). I'll be able to install the OEM version of windows 7 Home Basic or should I get the HARD drive replaced by dell only? I have the original DVD of windows provided by Dell.

No, you don't have to buy the hard drive from Dell. The market will be ok...

  • Where can I buy a legitimate copy of windows xp with a cd key that is not OEM?

I have a mac with bootcamp.  He is not powerful enough to run Windows 7 and vista is a Devourer of resources. Is there a place to buy a legitimate copy of Windows XP with a valid CD key?

I have a mac with bootcamp.  He is not powerful enough to run Windows 7 and vista is a Devourer of resources. Is there a place to buy a legitimate copy of Windows XP with a valid CD key?

    Two points:

    1. the resources required for Vista and Windows 7 are very similar. I wouldn't say one or the other a "resource eater."

2 Windows is sold is over (unless you can find a store that still has old stock). Essentially the only way to buy these days is to find a copy used on sale somewhere. But if you buy a used copy, be very careful to ensure that it is not hacked and avoid places like eBay.

  • Recently reinstalled xp (not oem) on pc, but not a not register within the required 30 days.

    Hi MikeinBoulder,

Do you get this noise when you turn on your pc? Seems to be a hardware problem... Check the ram on the pc module (if you have 2 ram module you can try to Exchange or start a ram module)...

  • Satellite M40X - not found in volumes

Had a malware virus (Katushka I think) on my M40X - safe mode worked, then did not.
I tried to reformat with OEM disks did not work. Runs through process, but nothing at the end.

Then tried various boot floppies, last was AVG Boot disk - found there were two partitions... must have zigged when I shouldn't have because now I get the message "not found volumes."

    I can recreate "volumes"?

Y at - it no hope to get my laptop working again?

I am newbie to this but willing to try.
Have a Win XP (SP3) software drive... .not OEM but Win XP, a copy provided in order to try to get the computer running again.
Intend once Win XP strives to reformat the laptop if possible with an OEM Toshiba drive.

Feel like such a dummy, please help...

When you say "it does not work", what exactly happens?

If you have important data on the HARD disk, you can use the software to recover the files.

The best solution is to order a recovery disk from Toshiba M40X.
Installation of a generic version of Windows can be a headache.

  • How to install Windows XP SP1 from the disc and not an error message indicating "unable to install from the web?"

My laptop with Windows XP home (2002, upgraded to SP3), crashed after almost 10 years of perfect service. Then I reinstalled my OS (not OEM, bought and paid for a full installation of Windows XP Home, 2002), and after 3 hands hours hardware controllers and drivers, installation was finally able to connect to internet to make updates on Windows XP and hardware. Arriving at Windows Update of the site, I realized that I couldn't do web updates up-to-date, because my old version of Windows. It will not be updated to SP3, because I need SP1 or higher. So, I tried to download and install SP1a. Error says that I can not reach the server. So, I download SP1a on my other computer, burn a CD and try to install SP1a directly from CD. Now, I get an error message stating "error installing SP1a, unable to reach the server. Try again when you have access to the web... Hello! I'm not trying to install from the web... why this message? I even made my computer has been getting a good connection ethernet, just in case my computer needed to communicate with? While my computer has been updated by CD.

It's probably something simple, but I'm frustrated. Help when the first thing I see on the Microsoft Update site is a special page, telling me that I am not able to update Windows. Help, please!

You must use this upgrade path:
Gold XP to XP SP2 to XP SP3.
Note that installing SP1a is TOTALLY USELESS! (Not only that, the file available these days is EVIL, because you knew.)
    Here are the detailed instructions:

    1. download the installation files from SP2, SP3, IE8 and Microsoft Security Essentials, which is an effective antivirus/antimalware program. I prefer to keep these on a USB key, but this is optional. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=28 (for SP2)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24 (for SP3)

(You can TOTALLY ignore the message "intended for it professionals"!)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=43 (for IE8)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials (for MMS)

    2. disconnect Internet.

    3. temporarily disable the automatic updates.

    4. install SP2. Restart twice.

5 install the SP3. Restart twice.

6 switch to IE8. Restart twice.

    7 install an Antivirus software.

(What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).

8 make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should be).

(Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet.)

9 visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates.

10 re - enable automatic updates.

After the back if you need guidance.

You can reuse your current XP only if the version is not OEM.  OEM is a version that must be supported directly by the manufacturer of the computer first.  OEM is always linked to the first PC, the license is activated on.  This license is suppused to 'die' with the PC.  Now, there is a "grey area" on the definition of a PC, but accepted the more common definition all came to the conclusion that the 'mother' is the building block for the definition.  Therefore, change of motherboards would mean you have a "new" PC

  • Can not activate after installing a new motherboard under Windows 7 Ultimate

Hello everyone I formatted my pc because I installed a new motherboard, now when I want to reactivate my window tells me that the product key cannot be used on this pc, my windows is 7 ultimate and not OEM

You should follow the advice of André and use the phone activation method. There should be someone who speaks English to help you with the activation.

Next time do not change the report, there is nothing in there that someone might use or rob you.

Try activating the phone and after another report.

  • Can not activate after reinstalling code 0xC004C008

    Hello

I recently changed the motherboard in my computer because of the failure.  I reinstalled Win 7 and tried to start.  He failed online and phone support system could not unlock.  I use a key to upgrade of family 3 Pack that has never been installed on 3 computers.  I was under the impression that the rules of this East fell under the 'detail' and not OEM so that I can install it even if I changed the motherboard.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you

    Hello

I have a problem with my VM ware / boot camp of activation. I have a Boot Camp partition on my Macbook Pro. I am able to boot the disc using the fusion, but when I try to use Boot Camp coming to the windows activation screen and my keyboard and mouse do not work so I can't press the button to continue. I tried to boot into safe mode on boot camp and the keyboard and mouse are not recognized either. I tried to plug in a keyboard and a USB mouse generic and is not no longer works. I am running XP pro (not OEM version).

Does anyone have any suggestions on a cure?

    Hi tsugua,

This sounds like it may be more than one Apple, or Microsoft problem. However, my recommendation would be to ensure that the leopard drivers have been properly installed. To install the insert drivers your Leopard installation disc and run the setup.exe if is not autorun. So, make sure you run software updates of the Mac OS to ensure you have the latest version of the Bootcamp drivers.

Let me know if this helps.

  • XP Home OEM locked fixation after replacing the motherboard

I am repairing a HP Pavilion with XP home SP3 locked to the motherboard fried as a favor to a friend.  My friend insists on XP and wants / needs to preserve installed programs & data on the disk (which is always good when tested elsewhere).  He has some company reprogramming s/w radio, which only works on XP.  We know that it will buy a commercial version.  I can't find what really works, said http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292607 that it can be upgraded to XP Pro (that he would) but which covers only SP1.  My proposed seller says House cannot be upgraded to Pro without a complete reinstallation and did not oem home home retail.  XP Mode under W7 pro is not an option, if the serial port-> time of radio is not quite right, expensive business radios becomes expensive bricks and it will not run the risk as it will be with XP on new MB/CPU.  There current image backups, but they are always blocked, of course.  The drive passes the test of the provider (in another machine, of course).

Can XP Home SP3 OEM evolve into XP Pro SP3 without a reinstall (i.e. reformatting & install)?  Can XP Home SP3 OEM be 'upgraded' to XP Home SP3 detail without having to reinstall?  Is there a better way (with XP) to solve this problem?

    Thank you!

Final result: after the installation of the new motherboard, the installation of XP Pro SP3 retail disc does not recognize the installed XP home SP3, said that he was not an operating system on the partition and did not offer an option to upgrade.  The software provider was right, and the article cited above wrong, at least for SP3-> SP3 on this particular configuration.

Then, I started from the original hard disk and attempted an activation of the phone, which didn't.  The robovoice said of trying to update the license key, that I made using one on the COA, then try activation phone even once.

It worked.  There are more drivers to dl and install, but the box still works with a new MB and dual core CPU without a reinstall or OS update.

So despite all the stories about tattooed motherboards and cannot reactivate XP if they are replaced, the real recovery was relatively simple.

  • Cannot install Vista OEM after replacement of equipment

My Dell with Vista system crashed. The motherboard and HARD drive were fried... I have a system that is compatible with Vista and I installed, but cannot activate Vista, with the same vista that was on my dell... How can I get the vista high and active... The system has set for about 6 months.

It is not possible to activate it.

"As far as I know it is not OEM".

Not sure EXACTLY what kind of license it is.

"About 3 months after using the HARD drive and motherboard fried."

You cannot use programs to find the key to the race and active system.

  • ISO of OEM of Windows 7 Ulimate x 64

I bought Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 OEM to be installed on a custom built PC.  The PC crashed and I want to reinstall but I do not have the media, I need to download the ISO, but all the links I can find to redirect digital river for Microsoft home use program.

Given that Microsoft has removed downloads of digital river you have two equally bad options.

    Microsoft https://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246?wa=wsignin1.0 backup support request
Or if you have a retail key (NOT OEM operating system preinstalled) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery
You may be better of borrowing a person.  For OEM (preinstalled) you should contact the manufacturer of the computer.
  • Do I have to re install Windows 7 Ultimate Retail Version over the current version of Windows 7 Ultimate OEM "Trial"?

I have an old PC which worked fine with Windows XP on it. I wanted to continue to consider using it with Windows 7 (instead of buying a new machine).

So my friend gave me a copy of the version of Windows 7 Ultimate (OEM) to try to see if the machine was worth keeping (i.e. good performance with my critical apps loaded on this subject).  Using this version, I was able to switch from Windows XP to Windows 7 using a clean installation. I have re-installed critical applications to check performance with the new operating system.  I was impressed (and happy) so I decided to purchase a licensed copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. I finally found a great offer and bought a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (Full/Retail - not OEM) with the required activation key via the Internet (to be delivered next week).

My question is: since I now have the version of Windows 7 Ultimate (OEM) already installed on my machine, I will have to perform another clean installation when my Windows 7 Ultimate retail version coming? I would really not all over again. I would like to simply enter the Activation Code of the version of Windows 7 Ultimate (Full-detail) when it arrives. What is the best way to reach my goal?
