  • CPU and CPU sockets

    Hello world

    I have a question,

I have a PC with core i5 cpu is with a Socket 1 and 4 hearts with no support off the coast of hyperthreading.

I have installed ESXi5.5 on it, when I want to create a virtual machine, I put 3 UC and 3-wire socket = 9 carrots?, then he said to me that I have an outlet.

I think that I don't know the true meaning of the processors and hearts by sockets in vsphere web client, can someone help me please?

And another question, when for example we limit a virtual computer for 300 MHZ processor is that limiting EP each carrot or for all the hearts?

    Thank you

    This is how it works.

The first drop of you indicates how many vCPUs to assign to a virtual machine.

The second drop-down you indicate if you want the vCPU you chose to be part of a single processor or different processors.

    For example:

If you choose to 4CPU and then say no of cores per socket = 4 then all 4 cores will be paid from a plug (which is what you need to do in your case since you have a single socket)

If you choose to 4CPU and then say no of cores per socket = 1 then each carrot will be levied on 4 processor sockets (if you so it is).

According to the physical processors you have and logical cores they contain + the ratio of packaging you decide, you need to change these values.

Hope I said clearly. Let me know if you still have confusions.

    Hi all

Recently, I saw a Windows server 2008 R2 in my environment to have 4 taken with 4 each (average 16 Cpu core).

I can also see them in windows host device manager. Now I am confused as the support for Server 2008 R2 STD up to 4 CPU only version.

They will work with it. or there will be changes in the physical or virtual processor architecture and not taken care of the windows processor.

If I missed something here. Please let me know.

  • Error 0X0000007E Stop after installing the new card mother and CPU.

Original title: Stop error after installing the new card mother and CPU.

After I installed a new motherboard and CPU I got a stop error 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XB77EA756, 0XB84C742C, 0xB84C7128) and it restarted immediately. It always starts in safe mode, but I can't understand what is wrong. The old processor is a pentium 4 3 ghz, not sure what the motherboard was, new processor is AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual core 4200 + and I only know that the motherboard is an ASUS socket AM2. Device Manager does not recognize the CPU correctly, it shows just two entries called processor. As far as I can tell, it's almost certainly a driver issue, but I don't know how to diagnose or fix this. I am running windows XP home, I removed my video card, running 2 hard drives at 120 g (M) and 200 g (S), a DVD drive (M) and a reader of CD (S), and a stick of RAM to 1 GB.

If you have made the change without having to reinstall XP, you will be taking and Pray H@ll. the best thing to do would be to reinstall XP and make sure you have the drivers available for your motherboard available so that you can update the installed chipset. In addition, be aware that if you have an OEM of Windows version, the license is dead when you changed the mother/CPU card.

    I hope this helps.

Is there a way to pull this off with on the reinstallation of the operating system?  This post http://arstechnica.com/hardware/news/2007/09/how-to-install-a-new-motherboard-without-reinstalling-windows.ars looks promising, but not specifically for Vista.

I don't have a Vista DVD that I bought the upgrade online. I have it on a spare SATA drive and can't burn on a DVD because for some reason any damned, it is slightly larger then what fits on a 8.4 GB DVD. I have a disc XP full version. The current installation is a clean vista who, for now, I forget exactly how I managed, but I remember that you can do a full install with upgrade to vista as long you have your original cd of XP handy.

    Hello Sqrly,

All you can do is try. It's 50-50 if you try to fix the MBR (master boot record). If this does not work and clean install will be your only option. If I were you, I would like to do a clean install. You can download this ISO (Vista) link:http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ but the use of this software to burn your ISO. Link: http://download.cnet.com/Active-ISO-Burner/3000-2646_4-10602452.html?tag=mncol, let us know if this allows you to get your drive. Follow the instructions. Try to repair your windows MBR with this disc. If it isn't you may have an option to make your recovery partition recovery disks or you must contact the manufacturer to buy them for a small fee. Very nice MOBO you got there by the way! ;-) Let us know whether, if that helps you. Make it a great day!

  • Dell Inspiron 580 CPU Socket type?

    Hello

I have a dell inspiron 580 and I want to upgrade the CPU intel core i5 intel core i3. But first, I need to know what is the CPU socket type, so I know which one to buy. I tried to find it on google but I could not. Is that h2 lga 1155 and 1156 or lga h or h57?

Also, if you have any recommendations for i5 processors and then respond!

    Thank you

    Hi malick4132,

Dell has tested Inspiron 580 with the following processors without any problem:

    1. Intel Pentium G6950
    2. Intel Core i3 - 530, 540
    3. Intel Core i5 - 750, 650

Your computer comes with Mobile Intel H57 Express Chipset. For more information, refer to link: http://intel.ly/XJYkuG

Click the compatible products for a list of processors that are compatible with your computer. Most of them supported the LGA1156 socket or FCLGA1156. Both are almost similar. Please check that you update the system BIOS before you upgrade the processor on the computer.

Dell does not recommend nor upgraded the processor, but it's like your discretion if you really want to go ahead with it. Warranty by saying that the issues raised as a result of the upgrade is not covered by the warranty, but we will continue to support for other issues and parts.

    Answer please for more details.

  • Card replaced mother, RAM and CPU. Should I re - install or re - activate my Windows 7?

3 months ago I finished my 3rd generation PC. I built an AMD/AM2 socket system and I bought an OEM of Windows 7 Professional (32 bit) version. After only 2 months of use, the thermal paste between my processor and the heatsink dribbled out and down onto my card mother socket. This fried my M/B and the CPU. They no longer worked. I replaced my M/B and CPU with a socket AM3/AMD system, which includes a different type of RAM, as well. My o/s is on my SSD and the storage of my data on a mechanical hard drive. I have already paid my o/s and you simply want to change the parts concerned. How should I proceed regarding the re-use of my brand new Windows 7 Professional with minimal headaches? I heard of re-activation of phone procedures. Should what steps I take to make sure that my operating system is allowed up and running and safe?

You need to convince MS that your cause is just (it seems to me that it is) - and use telephone activation.

activation by telephone (call of the operator)

    Click the Start button

    in the search box, type

    SLUI 4

    and press the Enter key

Follow the instructions, but when asked what service you need the ansafone phone, don't answer - it should oblige the operator to answer, who can deal with you

    Hello!

I bought this laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 installed a months ago and since then, I have a little problem.
I think that the CPU is overused... the percentaage of use varies from 5% to 50% or more. Today, I downloaded another gadget (metter all CPU) and clock speed with programs such as yahoo messenger, Skype, mozilla (with some tabs), aimp3, utorrent and Toshiba programs open is 792 MHz I have a desktop AMD Athlon II x 4 clocked at 2.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM 1033 Mhz and CPU was never used as this one which is an i5... I don't understand... What's the problem?

    Sound...
After a while, especially on youtube the clip starts but not sound... or if I jump in the video it stops... or I hear weird noises... What happens with reader aimp3 and bs also (but not so often)... I think it's because of the use of the processor

    Hello

Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?
You hear sound when Windows stars?
Is there some problem with sound when using music CD or watch original DVD movies?

On this virtual path, it is not easy to understand why you have this problem of sound. It is not easy to understand what can be the reason for this.

  • Pavilion g6 - 2217cl: the HP Pavilion g6 - 2217cl RAM and CPU/GPU upgrade

    Hey there, I am looking to upgrade the RAM and CPU/GPU on my G6 Pavilion. Here's my current characteristics;

    Laptop model: HP Pavilion G6 - 2217cl

    Operating system: Windows 10 family (x 64)

Current RAM: 6 GB (used 2 slots)

CPU/GPU: AMD A8 - 4500 APU with Radeon HD graphics card

What are the possibilities should I upgrade?

If more information is needed, I'll be happy to provide.

It supports up to 8 GB of memory and the processor can be upgraded to a 10 - 4600M. Here is the Manual:

    Manual

There is no video card to upgrade, but for the models of series AMD A video is contained in the processor itself and an upgrade of the processor also carries with it an upgrade for HD 7640 G HD 7660 G video. It's light but a bit noticeable and clock speed go from 2.8 ghz to 3.2 ghz, which is not huge but noticeable. Memory is a DDR3-1600 module, and you can replace your 2 gig with a 4 gig to spend 6 to 8.

Memory upgrade is as easy as... CPU/APU don't upgrade not so much.

  • XW6000 cooling fan and CPU connector issues

    XW6000 workstation, 2 x 3.06 Ghz Xeon processor, 4 GB RAM, Radeon X 1600 512 MB AGP, OS Windows 7 video card.

    Hello, all,.

I have a strange problem with this otherwise excellent camera. A couple of weeks, he has begun to close randomly and would usually start at the next attempt. I suspect the graphics card and replaced him as fans, cleaning the CPU fins cooling and re - apply CPU thermal paste. The computer was fine for a day or two and then become erratic, with the same symptoms as before. Then he refused to boot at all - the screen remains black, all the cooling fans would be out for a second, then rest static. I didn't hear any beep codes but the HD light was lit in green.

The PSU was then replaced by no effect. I went through the usual process of reinstalling components failure, removal/replacement RAM & other devices in order to see if they were the problem with no improvement. In all cases, the HD light would turn green for a second or two, the PSU/CPU fans would be like before kick and then the red light HD flash intervals of one second.

Finally I found the PSU and CPU fans would turn at maximum speed, when I disconnected the CPU power connector six pins. But of course the computer then wouldn't start. The left light shone right green and red.

The computer is now completely disassembled and I can't find anything obviously wrong (fade/broken) on the motherboard. Clearly, something is being short circuit when the power of the CPU is connected.

Is a new motherboard required or is there anything else I can try?

    Thanks in advance,

    esseff.

    It was the motherboard (again)!

I just set up the replacement for the replacement and everything works fine now. No problem with the revalidation of phone despite the change of the major component. Hope this helps someone with the same symptoms.

Thanks to everyone for their help.

  • New motherboard and CPU... Running slow

    The back story:

First let me preface this by saying: "I don't know much about computers.  OK, with that of the road, I have a Presario SR1703WM under XP. I added two gigs of memory a couple of years and it was running fine for what I needed.

About a year or two back... It got to where I could not close without waiting a long time to get it to even start upward. I was told that the phones went wrong. Anyway... the food has recently taken a dive.  I replaced it, but the computer had apparently had inhaled, it is the last and sang with the choir invisible.

I decided to fix it myself and in the process, destroyed the CPU... He looked like a little in the wake of a 747 crashing in a field of culture.

A friend IT just happened to have a new motherboard and CPU which it replaces for me (God have mercy on its processor)

    The Situation as it is:

The computer came back from the dead, but he is running a bit slow sometimes.  It is not constant. It seems to happen on Yahoo mail and when I watch Youtube videos or when there is a site with a kind of animation advertisemens.  Yahoo email who has a little.  PC Doctor 5 for windows came with the original computer, but now she says that she is not allowed now... not really a problem, but running a dignostic there will not happen. Compaq diagnostics is not upward in case of problem either. The slowness is erratic, even in the same session.  It can correct itself and return to normal. It seems to happen when I have more than one high screen... like if I can access Yahoo email on one screen and I do appear Facebook on another at the same time.

    Memory is adequate

Controls for Device Manager shows all my drivers are up to date.

The new motherboard is an Elitegroup P4M800PRO-M he came with an instellation CD

The new processor is an Intel Pentium 4.  (He had an AMD Sempron before hand).

Please be patient with me and use it as simple as possible when replying with advice... I do not understand a lot of technical terms... but I'm learning.

After hours of slope on this problem... It seems that the culprits were Yahoo toolbar and Adobe Flash 9.  At least it works a lot better now. We'll see if it continues to do so.  Thanks to everyone who took the time to help.  I appreciate it.  Kudos to you all.

If vista came preinatalled your computer, it is rated an oem license as such is related to the material that it is initially installed on

If you have a retail license, you can upgrade your card motherboard and CPU

you will probably have to reinstall vista while the hard drive with the existing vista installation contains the drivers for the old motherboard and probably do not start correctly
