Notice of upgrade of Windows PC?

I use Adobe CC using the following Windows 7 PC configuration:

  • HP Z620 (integrated 6 Channel SATA interface:2@6Gb/s, 4@3Gb/s. RAID 0, 1, 10).
  • Duel Xeon E5-2640 @ 2.50 GHz (12 cores Total, 24 Total Threads) processors
  • 32GB ECC Registered DDR3 memory - 1333 MHz (4 x 8)
  • NVIDIA Quadro 2000 2 GB-graphics card
  • 120 GB Intel 320 Series SSD SATA II MLC (operating system, programs, file)
  • 500 GB Hitachi HDD (previews, exports) E7K500 sister GST
  • 500 GB Hitachi GST Travelstar 7K 500 2.5 "HDD (media Cache)
  • ¥ 2x2TB WD Green SATA-III HDD (media, projects) - RAID1 on 6 Gb/s interface
  • Blu - ray BD - RW Pioneer BDR-206DBKS SATA burner
  • HP LP3065 30 "monitor
  • HP LP2065 20 "monitor

¥ I know for reason of performance it is best to use RAID0 here, but I lost once in 4 hours of work when a drive went wrong before my normal daily backups.  So now, I like saving my work instance.

The case may contain (in addition to the Blu - ray burner) four disks 5.25 "or three 5.25" and two disks 2,5 "(ce dernier est la configuration actuelle)."

I want to improve performance, especially when using Premiere Pro and After Effects (and Media Encoder, well that not as high priority).  I have around a $1,000 budget for updating my system and thought the following possibilities:

  • The disc of the operating system, programs exchange for a 128 GB Samsung 850 Pro (~ 100), put on the 6 Gb/s port
  • Exchanging the drive media Cache for a 256 GB Samsung 850 Pro (~ 175), put on the 6 Gb/s port
  • Exchange media, projects for two WD Black drives two disks (~ 250)
  • Exchange on the K4000 NVIDIA Quadro 2000 (~ $ 500)
  • Add 32 GB of memory (64GB total) ~ $400

I have also upgraded to 8.1 and re window - learn Windows if there is a performance and the reason for the stability to do.

I realize there are several factors that go into how to better optimize PC edition to its special needs, but I was hoping to get notice that others could do given my system and the budget.

Thank you

My 2cents would be to stick with a quadro k4200 or superior. It's a decent upgrade on the k4000. your gpu may be the weak link for material currently.  If you need save money and don't need the quadro then a 960 gtx or 970. If you need the quadro for a reference monitor, you can run your current quadro as a dedicated display output and a new gtx as the card cuda/rendering...

I see no reason to move to win8.1.  also, I think that microsoft has announced that they are giving away 10 free, windows to windows 7 and 8 owners, for the first year. If that's true, you can go that route.

memory and the hard drive is really depends on your media and what you do in adobe CC faster hard drive almost always will be welcome, so that depending on what you are doing and your film, the RAM may or may not be worth the investment.  If you do not get two WD black, you might be able to run in band/raid0 and then use the Greens as backup. possibly by creating an another band/raid0 with Greens from WD and using a file synchronization program to copy all the new/changed files on WD blacks for the WD green at the end of the day.

  • Can I upgrade to Windows 7 on Satellite Pro L510

Hello. I recently bought a Satellite Pro L510.

It came with a program to upgrade Windows 7 with PSLFFL-002002 part number, which shows that they are eligible for the upgrade of windows to windows 7.

However, when my windows 7 cd came and when I tried to install it, there was a notice saying that my model is not eligible to upgrade to windows 7. When I referred to the given site 'http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows7/mlist_sp.htm' I noticed the L510 Satellite Pro series is not found in the list.

Later, I called the center of Contact from Toshiba for re - confirm whether or not L510 pro series can be upgraded to win 7, and the person told me to reformat my laptop to factory settings. He said that I should refer to 'http://pc.toshiba-asia.com/portal/public/win7/specs.jsp?model=proL510' instead in regards to laptops for the upgrade of windows.

However before I reformat my laptop I clarify / re - confirm L510 Satellite Pro can be upgraded to win 7. I don't want to reformat my laptop for nothing.

    Hope someone could help me.

    Thank you.

I don't know how it works in Asia or with Asian laptops but the fact is that all new laptops are designed for Win7 and I see no single reason for your laptop are not upgradeable to Win7.

Asian laptop models are not known to me, but I did not understand in your ad which OS came preinstalled as factory condition. Your laptop came with Vista pre-installed and you have upgrade you DVD Win7 or what?

AFAIK preinstalled Vista can be improved using Win7 upgrade DVD and after upgrade you must not activate it. It will be automatically activated.

So please be so kind and explain to us exactly what you want to do and how you want to do.

  • No audio after upgrading to windows 7. SoundBlaster card is installed

After the upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit), I found that my speakers (which are integrated into my HP w2207 monitor) are not recognized.  In the notification area, I have the speaker with a Red Cross in it, and he said: "no Audio output device is installed".

I have a HP Pavilion D4890Y with Sound Blaster Audigy X - FI 24 - Bit Xtreme Sound card.  I tried looking in the Device Manager and found "Multimedia Audio Controller" under the other heading, stipulating that no driver could not be found.

I tried following some of the tips online and downloaded the latest Realtek High Definition Audio drivers, but the download seems to work fine, and I don't notice any difference.  When I reboot as prompted, I still have the same error.

I then tried to force the Audio device to use a driver Realtek, but protests from Windows (saying that is not sure that it is compatible with my device and I find myself with "Realtek High Definition Audio" under "Audio, video and game controllers", but it has a yellow exclamation point.  If I click Properties, the device status says "this device cannot start (Code 10)". If I try to update the driver, I get the message that it can not find the driver software.   If I uninstall the driver, I'm back to the original problem (multimedia audio controller under original devices, with no known driver).

I also tried to download various files on the Creative site, but we don't know which to use, and 4 or 5 different ones that I tried (including their recommended for Windows 7 beta version), when each of them opens, it is said he doesn't get supported devices.

    Suggestions?  Thank you!

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p050ca: graphics driver error message started after the upgrade of Windows 10 model installed on #: G6U13UA #ABL

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and since then, I received the following message through a game: "display Intel HD Graphics driver Driver for Windows 8 (R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I checked my graphics driver and it says that it is up-to-date.  I tried installing the latest drivers for my laptop model (according to the HP drivers page), December 15, 2015, installed without a problem, but no version has not fixed the problem.  An error message appears when I try to install the March and April, 2016 versions of graphics drivers, claiming that they are not compatible with my computer.

I also tried the Intel and HP driver update utility and told me that my drivers are up to date.  However, when I look at the properties of my Intel(r) HD Graphics Family in Device Manager, I noticed that information on the events tab says: "peripheral PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_0A16 & SUBSYS_227E103C & REV_0B\3 & 11583659 & 1 & 10 still requires the installation."

I don't know what needs update on my computer or if this driver is incompatible with Windows 10 and there is not yet an upgrade?  Advice or opinions would be appreciated!

My computer model is the 15-p050ca HP Pavilion Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) model #: G6U13UA #ABL and the graphics driver is version #: 10.18.15.4279

I went back to 8.1 for Windows and ran the store several times and then reinstalled Windows 10.

I watched the graphic version installed and version 20.19.15.4331 dated dated 18 November 2015, but he still claimed there was an update of the graphics driver.  I tried the update and it was version 10.18.15.4279 dated August 2015, which was the same version that was installed when I had problems (and the same version on the HP website), then I went back to the 20.19.15.4331 version.

I tried all the graphics drivers listed for my computer on the HP support page and again, I had the same problems with them as I had before (either claim that my computer has no minimum requirements or my graphics driver crashing).

With the current version (20.19.15.4331), my graphics driver has stopped at least for now crashing, but I assume that this is not a specific driver HP and is only based Intel?  If so, I recommend HP glance on the issue, I've had if they claim that these drivers are supposed to work for my computer when my computer is, in fact, not accept them.

  • My laptop camera image on the upside after the upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

I have a laptop Asus G50Vt - X 1, which is a 64-bit computer. It had Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit installed on it and the unit worked properly with him. I ran the update of Windows 7 Advisory on this matter and he said I could upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit. After the upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit the images from the camera are all upside. I contacted Asus about the problem and they sent me the drivers updated, but the images are still upside down. Pourrait Windows 7 cause this problem as I know that it worked fine under Vista?

I also noticed that my dvd/cd player and external hard drives don't stop the execution after that I have quit an application. When this happens, I can't eject the cd or remove the drive from the computer.

    Hi @akinzaxy,

Thanks for the information. When I checked the page software and drivers for your laptop, I noticed there are no drivers available for Windows 10. This means that HP has not tested Windows 10 on your laptop model. HP does not guarantee that the Windows updates will have all the drivers. This does not mean that it will not only work the result is unknown. • OfficeJet 6600: upgrade of Windows post 10

After upgrade Windows 10 on 29/07/2015, my 6600 Officejet continues to work and print. but when I click on my desktop icon to view ink levels or that scan a page comes up saying install new printer.

In the control panel Officejet 6600 is indicated as being installed and work and notice that in another thread, there is a link for HP printer drivers that says if the upgrade of Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 printer will continue to work. I suspect that a Windows 10 driver is needed somewhere, but cannot find one in the page Web of HP.com drivers. Also when I followed the links in the page that appears when I click on my icon it doesn't drive anywhere which resembles a desktop printer software download.

Had another go to resolve the issue today. Uninstalled and reinstalled printer software again. This time success all functons printer now satisfactory. I don't know but perhaps HP have written some new drivers for Windows 10 of the day overnight?

  • Cannot connect to Internet after upgrading to Windows 7 64-bit Aspire M5100

I upgraded from Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have a Marvell yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller. I tried updating the driver, but it has yet to solve the problem. I am able to connect through a usb wireless adapter.

I noticed someone had this problem with a M3100 and the solved the problem by replacing the Ethernet card. I hope that I don't have to do since I've upgraded to Windows 7 using an OEM version. As I understand it, you can change to any material after I installed the OEM version.

When I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor there was compatibility issues: 1) the card Ethernet, 2) graphics card.

He said go to the device manufacturer's website and download the latest version of the driver. I thought that's what I did, but it still doesn't work. I have all the 'exclamation points"in the Device Manager. Everything said that it works correctly.

Maybe I'm not download the appropriate driver. Should I just go for the driver and the driver update rather than choose one myself and downloading?

If I end up installing a new Ethernet card going to work?

    Any suggestions?

Good. It's just to install and configure the new network card. If all goes well, assuming that Murphy does not, it should be easy sailing! Let me know how it goes.

  • Deleted partition HP_Tools, upgrade to Windows 8

I have upgraded to Windows 8 Enterprise edition, with the hope of just checking out and returning to Windows 7 when the trial is up. Well, after an iso disk and installing Windows 8, I noticed that I had deleted the partition HP_Tools...

I need this partition to use for recovery.

Note that I made a disc of recovery using Hp Recovery Manager, when I bought my laptop but now Hp Recovery Manager is gone and I have a flash drive with unnecessary data (apparently). I downloaded and installed every update of the UEFI Bios, all the drivers for my laptop and the essensically it works PERFECTLY fine... but I can't use my recovery disk because I have no Hp Recovery Manager installed on my computer. When I tried I get the message "Softpaq not apply to the system, without HP Recovery Manager installed." I have Hp Recovery Manager NEED use my recovery disk.

I will note that I did successfully a NEW partition of HP_Tools, but technically it contains no useful data, a few things from BIOS and others, but not HP Recovery Manager.

Someone walk me through this please.

I tried and failed to install ALL available software they had for my laptop, including the crappy stuff like Cyberlink webcam and other stuff but HP Recovery Manager, that's what I can't install

You should not really Recovery Manager installed. USB flash recovery must be bootable and includes the Recovery Manager:
