OfficeJet 6600: upgrade of Windows post 10

After upgrade Windows 10 on 29/07/2015, my 6600 Officejet continues to work and print. but when I click on my desktop icon to view ink levels or that scan a page comes up saying install new printer.

In the control panel Officejet 6600 is indicated as being installed and work and notice that in another thread, there is a link for HP printer drivers that says if the upgrade of Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 printer will continue to work. I suspect that a Windows 10 driver is needed somewhere, but cannot find one in the page Web of HP.com drivers. Also when I followed the links in the page that appears when I click on my icon it doesn't drive anywhere which resembles a desktop printer software download.

Ex Airways.

Had another go to resolve the issue today. Uninstalled and reinstalled printer software again. This time success all functons printer now satisfactory. I don't know but perhaps HP have written some new drivers for Windows 10 of the day overnight?

After the upgrade to Windows 10 all functions under "Settings" are locked and the error indicates "this function has been locked by your system administrator or the person setting up the printer" I have never implemented or locked these functions. I understand that it is a known HP printer after upgrade to Windows 10 error. Restoring default values does not either because the feature is locked. I need to fix this or get a new printer from another provider, thanks.

    Hi @VIKING00,

I can honestly say I have not heard this before going on as a result of any upgrade, but that being said, I've heard of the error, "this function has been locked by your system administrator or the person setting up the printer" and I am confident, I can help you.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. • OfficeJet J4580 upgrade to windows 7

Currently have Officejet J4580 (not made for Windows 7) connected to a desktop computer with Windows XP.  Bought a laptop with Windows 7, I also want to add the Officejet so that both computers print to the Officejet.  Is this possible?

The easiest way is to open a DOS (start, run CMD.exe) prompt on the XP machine and in the prompt box type back:

    Host name

This will return the name of the computer.  Following in the box back type:

    NET View \\computername

Where \\computername is replaced with the name returned by the Hostname command.  Lists the printers and other shared items on this computer, look for the printer share name.

    Hey @Mike144,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

I see you have some problems with the printing of 10 Windows PC to your Officejet 8710 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

    To resolve this problem:

    1. If your printer is connected to your PC via a USB cable, remove it.
    2. Close any programs you have open.
    3. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
    4. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    5. Click on remove the instrument.
    6. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.

If you removed the USB cable, connect. If this is not the case, click on add printer and follow the prompts to add a new queue for your printer.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to print with larger margins, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

I have a HP Officejet 6600 - H711a/H711g e-all-in-one printer. Since the upgrade to Windows 10, I was not able to scan to the computer. I am capable of copy and print without any problems. I've done several reboots, power disconnects and reboots and driver installs / updates, removing, re - install etc...

HP Print/SCan doctor reports that it solves the problem, but it happens. Problem continues to exist.

    Hi Griso8V,

The pictures help, thank you! Please check this page for the steps fix your connection scanning: Scanner network connection is lost (Windows).

I realize that you already have some of these steps, but please follow all the steps in the order presented here.

When you get to the step to uninstall the software, please go the extra step to ensure that the printer is removed from "Devices and printers" in the control panel.

  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: after Windows 10 Upgrade on Officejet 6700 scanning does not work anymore - can not find scanner

    Hello

Having finally decided to take the plunge to upgrade to Windows 10, I discovered that my Officejet 6700 Premium previously peripheral work will scan is no longer.

My connection to the device is via a wired connection with a static IP address on the printer. It all worked perfectly under Windows 7, but now, I can only print to the printer to win 10.

I tried to uninstall the previously working software (under Win 7) and downloaded the latest version of the HP (OJ6700_1315 - 1.exe) software, which BTW is not a patch on the previous software that I'm used to using - but it did not help. Still no joy with the scanning feature.

I tried to uninstall all software, so I tried to launch the Wizard installation HP which seemed to re - install the last set of software (as above) with the same results - I can print it, but if I try to scan using the Officejet 6700 App it appears a dialog box saying "inaccessible Scanner. Scanner communication cannot be established. Make sure that your product is powered, check the connection and esnure that your network runs correctly. ...".  Amazing result given that the application displays all levels of printer ink, and I can print - every time!

I tried disabling the firewall - no difference, still do not see the scanner.

Tried using other windows applications; Paint, etc. - no joy.

I also tried the "HP Print Scan doctor and" nothing does - even, he gives up and says to contact HP support, with no details about what to tell them!

I hope someone else out there could have had the same problem and found a way to make it work?

    Thank you!

    Ok

In case anyone is interested, I bit the bullet and did a new install of Windows 10 on a formatted drive. I then installed the same software that I had tried on the "upgrade to Windows 7" windows, 10, and everything works as expected.

Therefore, there is definitely something wrong with the upgrade process, and the removal of the HP scanning software & resettlement never did his job correctly.

I look closely at the list of DLLs etc., charged by the printing software, but could not detect anything immediate.

Then, certainly in my case, a new facility was to solve this problem.

    See you soon,.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium: Tray Lock worked until the upgrade of Windows 10

Since a year now, I have 1 locked drawer for our book of receipt only, easier than all the other printing set to automatically select the default tray to tray 2 (Tray 1 is locked and all)! But I tried the upgrade of Windows 10, that was an epic fail and my cpomputer was sent to the doctor for the day. When I came back I had to basically start over with a new computer. I have everything back to be better than before, but THIS problem! Receipts in Tray 1 and my payment software its configured for Tray 1 specifically for receipts. All other default things that select and always tray 2. I can't anything out of tray 1. HOWEVER, my boss's computer is on a network with it and when it prints a receipt from his computer he properly dispences Tray 1. Yet.

    Help! PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

    Lacey!

    Hi @L2thaJ,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are unable to print correctly on tray 1 on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-all-in-one printer. I will definitely do my best to help you.

Is the other computer Windows 10 institutions, who works for printing on tray 1?

It looks like Windows 10 and the software you are using does not work with the printer driver, what might happen.

You are able to print to Tray 1, when printing from MS Word or Notepad?

Please ensure that you use the latest printer driver for your printer.

Download and run The printer Installation Wizard. The HP printer installation wizard detects automatically the best print available for your HP printer driver. It is only available for Windows 7, 8 and 10.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • OfficeJet 6600 does not recognize my new HP Pavilion windows 8.1 for scanning

I have a HP Officejet 6600 networking with my new HP Pavilion windows 8.1 it prints fine but does not recognize my computer when I want to scan. Whenever I want to scan a document to my computer I have to run Scan doctor. I called tech support and they can't help me because my printer is no longer under warranty as I bought it December 2012. but my office was purchased November 2013. They said that it is clearly a problem with the printer and not on the computer. They won't even talk to me or answer my questions without fees being paid first.  The scanner recognizes my laptop and desktop to the husband who have vista and 7, respectively. But I don't understand why it will print without difficulty and habit of scanning.

    Hi leila1964,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

I want to offer a helping hand with the 8.1 of Windows not scanning with your HP Officejet 6600. When you run the HP print and Dr. Scan on the computer it says it fixes some thing or that it cannot fix what whether?

Given that the printer works on the other two computers (Vista and 7), the problem is with the WIndows 8.1. I want to uninstall the printer software and the HP printer install wizard makes sure that we get the newest software possible.

Let me know how it works.

    Thank you

  • OfficeJet 6600 Windows 8 blank page

    Hi guys,.

I had to buy a new desktop computer. I had Windows 8 in there. I downloaded the program from Windows 8 for the OfficeJet 6600. The problem is that a blank page spit after printing a document.

I checked the settings and the separator page is empty. This means that it is not set for a separator page and none should come out right?

It was perfect with Windows XP. I HATE Windows 8! It's totally lame! If I had known how Windows 8 was that I would have NEVER bought this piece of junk!

    Hello quartertec,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you have a problem with the printer printing blank pages.

I have a few steps we can try to solve this problem.

First of all, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

I suggest that we start from the beginning.  Please, remove the usb cable from the printer and the computer and disconnected until further notice the cable.

Please click on the following link for uninstall the printer software.  Once the software and the printer driver has been removed, restart your computer.

When the computer is back, please click the following link for HP Officejet full feature and driver software.

The installation will prompt you as to when to reconnect the usb cable.

If you still have questions or if you have any other questions, feel free to write me again.

    See you soon,.
