Nslookup DNS timedout

Using the command Promp
I get the following response:

DNS request timed out.

I am in nslookup and as an administrator.

I'm taking a class in networking and assignment of Wireshark.   Any suggestions?

I don't think this is the right forum for this question, but your /etc/resolv.conf is configured to 192.168.56.1, but this machine is 192.168.56.101 then nslookup is trying to contact host du.1, which doesn't seem to be running DNS, or at least not for the domain "localdomain". I wouldn't run named on your RAC server, but use regular DNS resolution (and leave your entered guests).

  • accounts dependent sub-domians with 1 ip address

    Hi people,

I have 2 webcams.  They use it for DNS dynamic, but running on different ports.  Lets say

    Webcam - 1.dyndns.com:50000-> webcam1

    Webcam - 2.dyndns.com:50001-> webcam2

I put my WRT54G to transmit traffic as following the port

    50000-> 192.168.168.80 (webcam1)

    50001-> 192.168.168.81 (webcam2)

If I access them from inside netwrok, I can acess the two of them with webcam - 1.dyndns.com:50000 and webcam - 2.dyndns.com:50001.  However, if I have access to the webcam from the Internet, I couldn't see webcam - 1.dyndns.com:50000, but no webcam - 2.dyndns.com:50001.  Why?

    Thanks in advance!

    Billy

Yes, I nslookup dns dyn areas.  All points to my WAN ip.  If I have that as http://<> wan ip >: 50000, it works.  It does not work on the http://<> wan ip >: 50001.  Something wrong with my WRT54GS I guess!

  • ESXi 6.0 network connectivity problem

    Hi all

Having a strange problem here. In a nutshell, I have a certain environment and reconfigure the vNIC on the hosts. They are all part of a suite of UCS, and I took the model of service profile pre-existing, a clone and network cards accordingly. For the vmnic structure properly in vCenter, I removed the DvSwitches hosts, have abandoned their vCenter and reset the configuration of the system and reconfigure before adding it in. So far, this has worked well for four of my hosts; profile seems very good, pings, and VMS are rustling. And then there's this guy - I did the same steps as before, but after the reconfiguration of the host, I can't get the Miller of ping (and ofc add in vCenter). I've tried everything! I am 100% certain that I have correct management cards selected and the configuration of the network is the same as before. I restarted the management network, rebooted the host, tried a NIC management both (have two for grouping), a restoration of network (settings), applied to the OLD service profile and reconfigured, put another host in maint off/mode and used HIS network configs, ESXi reinstalled on the host... to nothing done (also, confirmed with nslookup DNS records are there and correct). For me, it looks like a physical on the server NETWORK card of the blade or chassis interface is defective, but here's the curveball - when I run a constant ping on the host and restart the management network, the host will ping successfully or twice in what seems to be the time between the management network stop and restart then. In addition, when you run the network management test, the bridge and the two DCs fail but resolves the host name. Any ideas so I can get this thing into production?

    Thank you very much

    Grant

Thanks for your replies. I've tried scouring the file vmkernel.log for the answers or directions for why management cards did not exist, but I couldn't find something concrete... Besides, I wasn't totally sure of what I was looking for. In addition, I first tried to re - recognize the blade, and then completely took me out of the blade and re-discovered, both without success. However, I was finally able to resolve the problem by resetting the MAC addresses on two management adapters. I found this, in a roundabout way, by creating a clone of the service profile, adding a third management NIC when you configure in ESXi, with all three selected allowed the host to ping... so try a NETWORK adapter at the same time, an adapter failed every time, one was sporadic and the third (new) adapter ping successfully every time. So, as I said I've linked the old model (with two cards) to the blade profile, reset the MAC addresses and addresses the two worked. Now the question emerges as to why addresses MAC of THOSE wouldn't work. I checked that they were not attached to the standard/distributed switch ports... I'm just afraid that on the road if a new blade pulls MACs, if they're going to be "orphaned" somewhere on the network and cause more problems. Within the SSH ESXi, I did a ' find/vmfs/volumes-type f - iname "*.vmx" - exec grep-im1 'MY_MAC' {}; -printing and listed on pretty .vmx file many each VM in the cluster with a mistake, 'device or resource busy.' You are not sure if somewhere the old Mac am fixed inside the master image (it's a VDI environment) and spread during a restructuring or what? Any ideas would be helpful, but in the end, the problem is solved [for now]...

    Thanks again,

    Grant

  • I was wondering if I've done everything I'm supposed to do taking a BC LIVE website customers.

This morning, I added my clients domain name into their Web of BC site. I also changed the names of servers with the Registrar. It's been more than 4 hours. I feel as if something is not set correctly. I have read many of the steps to do this, but still I can't help but wonder if I need to check something. Can someone help me to feel better about this. I understand that it may take up to 72 hours, but I read that there were instant results.

Most of the time I just leave it all night and it sorts itself.

Or you can use DNS nabil online to check what advanced BC NS.

IIf you google "Nslookup DNS" you will get a. It is an independent verification of name servers and will help.

Redegating in bc bxc is not difficult. I doubt that your missing something

  • How to find & remove a host CACHE AD DNS that shows that in NSLOOKUP?

I have several DNS related AD servers running Server 2008.

2 units (in fact 2 DNS servers) in nslookup show with 2 IP numbers.  1 numbers for each is his 2nd nic used to a San.  NIC interfaces have now is set correctly (not to save this #).  But, even after restarting DNS with NSLOOKUP returns this second interface for 2 units number, it shows off the root of the forest.  These lists DO NOT show using the GUI DNS on any of the DNS servers.   It does not show what also when I run a powershell records dump has.

So, which tool to use to find these entries and delete them?

So, as you can see the GET from the computer to the correct IP address for any domain using nslookup, but trying to ping or access any domain name instantly fails. :(

Tried to run winsockxpfix, but that made no difference.

Also, I tried using the service DNS, open dns but same problem.

The computer is connected to my knowledge as work network. 7 other computers and two xbox 360 s on the network even get very well correct dns data. So it's fair to this computer.

Even tried to install BIND 9 on the PC and the same problem. :(

I fixed it by managing to install SP3. Just so install SP3 for XP fixed the problem. : D

And Yes Ben, I tried that too. At a rating of 1. Thank you for trying to help though.

  • Nslookup or DNS in Windows 7 problem

Hi, I ran into the following issue today - I am able to browse the internet normally, however not able to ping a host by name. By address works very well. nslookup is as follows:

    C:\>nslookup localhost
    Server: unknown
    Address: 8.8.8.8

Unknown can't find localhost: no response from Server

If the DNS server is set to dynamic, I have the same problem

    C:\>nslookup localhost
    Server: unknown
    Address: 75.75.75.75

Unknown can't find localhost: no response from Server

To book more strange, the (java) application I'm working on some crashes - JVM crash, with out even throw a SocketException or anything when I try to connect to a socket on VMnet1, 8, or even on localhost, regardless of whether I use an ip address or a host name.

    Thoughts?

  • nslookup works but nothing else has DNS on standalone PC Win7.

I can connect to cables and wireless networks, the computer gets an IP address and the gateway and DNS from DHCP server very well and I can connect to things via ip but nothing can resolve DNS nslookup, which seems to work perfectly except. Network and sharing Center shows as 'connected' and 'no internet access. I tried many things, and now, I'm stumped. The problems began when a router has failed recently, several other machines come online when the defective router was replaced, but it never did.

Some of the things I've tried...

uninstalled anything that could possibly mess with networking: McAfee, Hamachi, Hello etc.
has run the McAfee removal tool
    starts in safe mode
    tried multiple profiles
    turned off the windows firewall
    Unchecked
the DNS 8.8.8.8 manually for each card value
Set an IP address for google.com manually in the hosts file: ping will not always solve this
disabled the dnscache service: makes no difference then re-not active it
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt: not a no effect and resetlog.txt is never created
    netsh winsock reset
    sfc/scannow: not found corruption
unchecked ipv6 for all network adapters in the system
    restarted, like, a million times

CPP, DHCP, DNS Client that all seem to be running.

Hardware tests very well, no DNS problems with interface either when running a linux boot disk, so there must be software.

There is nothing in the logs has not already was a problem for several months or is not directly attributable to the lack of connectivity, this problem of network is new from 3 or 4 days. Significant error entries only are, annoyingly, for system restore and VSS which means that the system did not the restore points for several months, and even more annoyingly, fails to restore those what already with a "catastrophic error 0x8000ffff". Embarrassing if it isn't, there was obviously a problem for months without affecting the networking.

Interestingly under "Access Type:" network and sharing Center, I get "No Internet access", but when I open a browser and go to google via an IP (173.194.37.136) that changes quickly to 'Internet' although I still cannot ping google.

Other the only thing I found which looks not right is that ipconfig/registerdns does appear the error: "DNS record failed: the RPC server is unavailable" which seems strange as CPP indicates its execution in services.msc and everything seems to be OK. There are a few pages on the web that mention this error but they seem to everyone apply to servers and it is a dell laptop vanilla Win7HP64 running.

Things that I have not tried...

relocation of hardware drivers: I tell myself that if it affects Intel Realtek LAN WiFi AND it may not be the drivers for those

    I'm now ideas.

    Help please!

  • Re: Satellite A300-1MS - after a few minutes DNS no longer works

    Hello

I have a Satellite A300-1 ms with Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. What happens is that after a few minutes, surfing the web, I can't navigate more unless I restart the PC. It happened with SP1, SP2, IE7, IE8 and Firefox. The only service that stop working suddenly is browsing when "http://dns_domain" is entered in the Solution Explorer. These other services running ok:
    -Skype
    -updated windows
    -update anti-virus
-http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (using IP instead of domain)
-nslookup, so the connection to the dns server seems to be ok
    -ping to the router

The only solution is to restart the PC (turn on/off the network interface or reboot the router does not resolve the issue)
This happens with the help of wi - fi and wired LAN

Does anyone have a clue on what could happen and how to solve?
Thank you very much for reading this post!

    Hello

Sounds like the system service domain name (DNS) stopped working after a few minutes. Please check the Services (start > run > services.msc) if the DNS client is always started. Also, try to restart this service. It work?

What antivirus software or security is installed? Try to update and disable the software just to test.

Sorry, but that's all I can say at the moment.

  • Nslookup for name of research field to the number of ip in Labview?

I would like to make a quick hack to control my ISP DNS functionality, to get hard when data to complain. What I see is that DNS stops working a few minutes to a few hours, making bad for many people. But when I call support it yet of course works...

Is there a simple way to check if the domain name of my pc server system and the network works well? I was thinking about calling the command "nslookup in a loop and see how many times he fails." Best ways?

Sounds reasonable - you can also use String IP and IP chain to convert the hostname to an IP from LabVIEW which could be a cleaner solution?

You can also use the ping command and analysis the result gives an IP address and allows you to check the latency as well as - you could ping your DNS server in a separate loop.

  • Impossible to reach the website of the company using ad 2012 R2 as DNS primary server

    Hello

My system was working well all these days. But now, we've had trouble where the ping / tracert / nslookup are omitted when my static IP list is configured with DNS primary and the local server that is running in 2012 R2. All this basic network troubleshooting was performed in ad server itself which in this case is also in DRC * DNS.

It is true that with a particular from now Web site which unfortunately was our own site and who also, to the one of our branch.

But other branches with almost similar set up and devices, it is accessible.

Please guide me how to troubleshoot and get out.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Weird DNS problem - solves Alias but not CNAME

I use the DNS server role on Windows Server 2012 R2 on a physical machine on my home network.

3 of my 5 machines are working properly and I can solve real host as alias names, but on 2 other machines, I can't resolve host names real (with Ping) even though I can still resolve alias - which seems really odd to me.                              .

    .10 - server 2012 (physical) R2 - both Alias and CNAME ping. (Displayed IPv4).

    .20 - server 2012 (virtual) R2 - both Alias and CNAME ping. (Displayed IPv4).

.21 pings - 2012 R2 (virtual) server - CNAME, Alias (displayed) ipV4 does not ping.  Nslookup can resolve CNAME.

    .22 pings - 2012 R2 (virtual) server - ipv4 (displayed) Alias, CNAME also Pings but displayed ipV6

.99 - Windows 7 (virtual) - Alias pings (display ipV4), CNAME not not ping.  NSLookup can resolve CNAME.

All of the above machines are members of the same domain and that you have a single DNS server assigned (. 10)

Given that 3 of the 5 machines are able to resolve the names, I have to assume that the DNS server is configured correctly.

The computers seem to be set up exactly the same way.

In all pings/research, I used the fully qualified host name and the fully qualified domain name.

This could be the cause and how can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance to anyone who answer.

  • I'm trying to set up Robin DNS for both terminal Servers Server on another site.

    Hello

I'm trying to set up Robin DNS for both terminal Servers Server on another site.
Our fields are not approved, but accessible through forwarders.
I created two records as follows:
    xxx.x.XX.12 SRV
    xxx.x.XX.13 SRV
When I perform an nslookup it lists two IP addresses
E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.
    xxx.x.XX.12, xxx.x.xx.13
When I ping srv it alternates between IP addresses
    Response of xxx.x.xx.12 bytes = 32 time = 10ms TTL = 126
    Did I miss something?
    Thanks in advance.
