NTDLR missing / Vista want to install new

Ok... I'll start at the beginning...

I have a HP Pavilion Vista Home premium
My son hit something on the computer and when I tried to reboot the system, I would get a blue screen with a grey box "system recovery options".
I went through every option but keep returning to the same a screen option was a full restore using a back up but when I cmmc he told me he couldn't find any backup sourse even if I had an external hard drive with a connected backup.
I had the brilliant idea to use the DVD that brought me in a hp program to repair the HP recovery system. It gives two options for each program from the diskette or hard drive. I chose the disk he restored the system to origional factory condition I clicked next and the program ran but when I tried to start up I now get NTDLR missing and Ctrl/Alt/Del (but this message is in French!)
I have reshered and found http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm this page I have creathed the iso cd disc tried all 10 options in normal mode and safe, but to no advail was the only option 2 would do nothing in normal mode and in safe mode would be a lot of code on screen then freezes after 7 seconds.
I then http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ also got that drive and it ran into the maching now I get to Vista asking me to install I don't know if it's on the record or because I previously used the HP recovery disk to restore the system to the origional factory condition in any way when I try to install Vista I get the message
"windows cannot open the required file F:\Sources\install.wim. The file does not exist. ........... "Error code: 0 x 80070002.
If I click on repair the computer finds it on drive D: windows repair system (he is going through a test sequence and concluded
root cause found:
Disk system partition boot sector code is currupt.
Repair action: repair boot sector
Resuld .error code successfully completed 0x0
time taken ms 4680
I reboot the system and get
The computer will restart unexpectly, or met an unexpected plant error.windows impossible proceed.to install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation
What I do and it just restarts the same error message
Help!
I'm Ok with computers, but just in case I can't talk to me like I'm in baby so bad understands what you're on topic :)
Thanks in advance

  • The boot sector is damaged.
  • An earlier Windows operating system has been installed after the installation of Windows Vista or Windows 7. In this scenario, the computer starts by using Windows NT Loader (NTLDR) instead of Windows Boot Manager (Bootmgr.exe).

/ ScanOs option /ScanOs scans all disks for installations that are compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. In addition, this option displays the entries that are currently not in the BCD store. Use this option when there are facilities Windows Vista or Windows 7 that is not in the Boot Manager menu. / RebuildBcd /RebuildBcd option scans all disks for installations that are compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. • Windows Vista will not install new updates after installing SP2

Hi, I have a problem with the update of my windows. It started after a fact a factory reset. Here's the history:

I have a some what old laptop (8 years). It came with a Vista installed with service pack 1 installed at the factory. Over the years, I did a few factory resets (every 2-3 years). I never had problems up to now. What is happening now is that I can not exceed SP2. I tried two different ways, none of them worked. After the reset, I first uninstall a bunch of stupid programs that came with the laptop, and then defragment and then have two ways to proceed. I tried to use windows update, installed more than 100 updates, updates install held until finally I offered service Pack2, installed successfully but then no more updates were offered. Then I tried a different approach - a new reset, uninstall, Defrag, and then downloaded and installed SP2 directly from the Download Center. And again the same thing happens. From the SP2 installation I check updates, download the new update agent and nothing happens after that. He keeps looking for new updates all day (about 50% of the processor by using all the time).

I read some articles and discussions but could not find anyone with the same problem (most of the users reported some error codes which is something I can't do). I tried the fix tool - it does nothing! Whenever I run it, it is mistakes - sometimes 2, sometimes up to 5. Sometimes, it makes account all fixed, other times that it reports missing or corrupt files do not set. Whatever the results if I restart and when I try to check for updates again it is still the same story.

Also I tried to install it manually IE9 as soon as SP2 is installed (I understand that this is not supported under SP1) but the installation fails. I expected to be available in updates, but as I don't get updates I tried to install it myself. Not sure if it's related (although I guess it is), but the Defender is not able to verify new definitions either.

Any suggestions? Maybe the registry is damaged or some of the files using the update agent is are corrupt? There are currently no antivirus program installed that could block whatever it is. I haven't touched Windows Firewall somehow everything must therefore be attributed to the default values.

You understand is that? I came across exactly the same problem... restoration of an old book to give to a family member, and every time I came to the point of installing SP2 and a more recent windows update agent just after, I couldn't install more updates. It would block 'check updates' forever. Tried twice, same problem. However, I tried some things differently the third time and exceeded the question.

Let me know if you still need help, and I will respond with what I've done.

  • I want to install new HARD drive

I want to replace my HARD drive with a bigger on my computer. How do I transfer my license to the new hard drive. The OS is Windows 7 Home premium.

If you want to transfer your existing installation on the new drive, you can use the backup and restore utility in Control Panel to create a system image and repair the drive.

If you intend to have a new facility on the new drive for the installation of your DVD of Windows 7 as usual. You will need to call the Activation Center to allow installation again. It has no process for 'unactivate' of the old license before replace her in place.

    • I removed my Vista on my computer because of the lack of Vista operating system file cache, I understand that there is now a patch to make it work properly. I want to install on my new machine, my local shop said I you will encounter a problem with the registration because it's another machine. Please can you guide me. Thank you.

If Windows Vista was preinstalled on your old machine, it is attached to this computer, and you cannot install it on the new machine.

If you bought Windows Vista software in a store, you can remove from the old machine and install it on the new.  There could be a problem with the activation (which is different then registration).  After installation, start the product activation.  If it will not activate online, use the phone activation option and explain the situation to the person who answers.

    System requirements:

    Hi Ribhu,

How did you start the Windows XP installation? This is the start of the Windows CD or Windows itself?

You can try a new installation of Windows XP after formatting the hard drive Vista and check.

You can consult the following wire link and check if it helps.

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator > services.msc (type) > [OK]
