  • Satellite Pro 4300: error - NTLDR missing

    Hi all

I have an old Satellite Pro 4360, P3 700 mhz.
I'm trying to upgrade the Bios to install Ubuntu Linux.

However, by following the instructions on the download of Toshiba Bios, IE change the boot sequence for the floppy drive with the disc in the drive that contains the update files, I can't update and just got the message:

    NTLDR missing

    Someone help with this?

Also, when I try to run the live CD, after changing the boot sequence in the CD-ROM, I get no response and the computer continues to boot from the disk with Windows 2000 Pro?

    Someone help with this?

    Hello

"NTLDR is missing" usually means that the "NT Loader" of an operating system with the kernel NT or NT-technology cannot start the operating system. (Such system NT could be Win NT, Win XP or Win 200o)

But it s strange when a drive reports an error message. What was on the disk before? Was the drive some disk before starting? If so, then proceed as follows:

Format the drive in Windows 2000 with the option to make a disk and copy the files from the BIOS on this subject. Then boot from the disk and update your BIOS. Ususally it should work.

  • Satellite A200-1AX (PSAE6) NTLDR missing after backup retoring

Hello my computer toshiba laptop A200-1AX (PSAE6) it came with Vista pre installed but I installed windows xp on it.
Everything went well and I used acronis true image 11 home to perform a backup.

Yesterday I tried to change my driver letter, and he told me that I can not change the letter.
Then when I rebooted after awhile my windows would be stuck on the Welcome screen... then I tried to restore the backup with acronis bootable media... after the restore is completed and tried to boot, I have ntldr missing :(

What has gone wrong? Can I register my cell phone from another format?

Don t think that it would be able to solve this problem without reinstallation of the OS.

Read some reviews on the missing NTLDR to error and one of the guys here in the forum found a solution to unlock the HARD drive and install XP:

  • NTLDR missing after XP Pro install attempt.

    Hey

I'm trying to set up a mini PC for my carputer project. I started using a USB CD-ROM for initial installation. It went well, so he came up with errors and is stopped and restarted. It came then with NTLDR missing. I did some research and thought it might be the CR ROM play up. So I plugged a different rom using the IDE connectors. I started the installation again. He has crossed all the stages, not the format, and then began to load the files. At half way through then just tt once again restarted itself. Now when it gets to the screen of BOOT, and when "boot from CD" appears, the machine restarts just all the time. When I remove the installation disc comes with the NTLDR missing. I'm really into the arms of this problem. I'm really appreciate some advice and help please.

  • NTLDR missing on a drive, I don't want to not start

    Hi all

I have a few disks USB that I can boot the computer with them is plugged. No problem. But there is one in particular (NFTS, 1 TB) that its plugged the computer tries to boot from and I get the error NTLDR missing . I don't want windows to try to boot from that disk
I've never done this bootable disc at least not intentionally. I looked for the files in the root of the system drive and found nothing. By comparing the information of partition (windows disk management) with other readers, the only difference is this particular drive is healthy (Active, primary) while others are just healthy (primary).
The 'active' is guilty? If yes how can I do not Active?
    Thank you

    Not an answer to your Q readers but usb was never designed to be connected on startup, or a stop, for various reasons, mainly the risk of alteration of the disc, but I digress;

Open a command prompt and type DISKPART.

    Type LIST DISK
Type SELECT DISK n (where n is the number of the USB)
    The LIST PARTITION type
Type SELECT PARTITION n (where n is the number of the active partition that you want to be inactive)
    IDLE type
    Type EXIT to exit DISKPART
Type EXIT to quit the command prompt

  • [Solved] 3 8 tab (TB3-850F) missing error 64 gb SD - SD Sandisk card, reinsert the device.

I have a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB 48 Mbps MicroSD SDSQUNB UHS-I memory TF my said Tablet often missing and needs to be reinserted. I take out the card and was able to recover and it works for a while and later the error appears. Since then put the SD card, the Tablet sometimes turns off and won't turn on back in now the button for a few seconds. I am trying to use the SD card as internal storage.

Is there a list of tested known working 64 gb SD cards for this Tablet?

I would appreciate anyone using this exact model Tablet happy to let me know if they are successfully using a 64 GB SD card.

I'm also confused because I bought this tablet it supports 64 GB cards according to the technical specifications that I saw on the Web site of the Lenovo Australia, but other pages to state that this tablet supports up to 32 GB cards.

If the Sandisk card I have been tested to work, do you have suggestions on how to make it more reliable. I did a factory reset on the Tablet and he was always in trouble. My Tablet - hardware version is LenovoPad-TB3-850F, build number is 850F_S100025_160608_ROW-TB3. It is currently running 6 Android. I put the SD card in the SD Sandisk adapter and tried in my laptop and it works very well in my laptop (an old Acer laptop). Please let me know if you need further information.

I just re-formatted the card to be used as a portable storage (not ideal but I can live with that) and will test it in the coming days.

Edit: solved. See my post below.

I bit the bullet and bought another brand 64 GB microSD card, and it works! -In short - use a Transcend brand card.

For the record, my tablet is a Lenovo 3 8 ", TB3-850F tab; sold by Lenovo Australia such as tab 3 A8-50 with the number of product ZA170082AU. Android version 6.0, kernel 3.18.9, number of Build TB3-850F_S100025_160608_ROW. The TB3-850F_160412, Hardware version LenovoPad-TB3-850F software version.

The adapters of SanDisk Ultra UHS - I 64 gb card, SDSQUNB part number - 064G - GN3MA, is not compatible with the Lenovo TB3-850F tablet.
"Internal storage" map would work initially but after a short period, the missing error Sandisk SD card, reinsert the device. would appear. The card must be removed and then reinserted to work.
As 'storage' map works initially but more later disappear, this time without error and require the withdrawal and rehabilitation at work.

I tried reformatting the card on my laptop using a fat32 formatting tool, the Tablet would reformat the card once installed in any case if this step is not necessary.

The adapters 'Premium' Transcend UHS - I 64 GB card, TS64GUSDU1 part number, has been installed and configured as "internal storage" and has worked well and remained functional after several power cycles, recharge and sleep/use of cycles.

I hope this information helps someone.

    Hello

NTLDR is not used for installation of Vista, it's a vestige of WinXP / 2K. If it is listed as "missing", then your boot sector is damaged and must be repaired. The steps are described here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927392?p=1

  • Error - NTLDR missing Windows XP Home computer does not start.

Original title: XP-based computer does not start.

XP Home does not start after I uninstalled a large file of Samsung mobile phone. I get a missing NTLDR error message and have had a System32 error as well, but there is no DOS prompt that would allow me to access anything whatsoever. Another problem is that I lost my installation CD. I initially bought this Dell PC nine over 6 years ago, so can provide identification details, if necessary program. Could someone tell me how I can make a recovery CD please? (No floppy drive not installed in the PC). To further complicate things (Yes, I know - I created many more problems that we all need), I have to keep my files on the hard disk, so cannot do a complete reformat, unless someone can tell how to save them somehow. My BACK skills could be summed up as "plodder inexperienced but determined!

The file might be missing or it could just be that XP can't find it if your file system has somehow got corrupted.

As the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.

Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Your system have IDE or SATA disks?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

System32 error, you see, is what exactly?

Depends on a few factors, there could be another copy of the file NTLDR in other places on your system, but you have to start on something to find out whether there is or not.

After answering the above questions, I begin to make a CD from Recovery Console bootable XP by running a chkdsk/r, first on your HARD drive and then see what is left to do.

    Here's how:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and don't forget (no support for XP not necessary).

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD (do not install UniBlue or the Ask Toolbar - never!):

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • NTLDR is Missing - error

    Hello
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 running vista. He walks yesterday and get an error message "NTLDR is missing, press any key to restart."

Then when you press a key, the error message keeps coming up

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Thank you
    Lee

    Hi Lee,.

You have XP installed on a different partition?

You can try these methods to solve the problem.

    Method 1

    Step 1

Try to start in safe mode.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2

If you are able to boot into safe mode, you try to perform a system restore.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

    Method 2

Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged, that might prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.

    1. Insert the installation disc.

    2. restart your computer.

Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the lock button, and then click restart.

    3. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

    Note

If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.

    4. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    5. click on repair your computer.

    6. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    7. in the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair can invite you to make choices as it tries to solve the problem, and if necessary, it may restart your computer, because it makes the repairs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/startup-repair-frequently-asked-questions

If the method above does not solve the problem try Method 3

    Method 3

I suggest you follow the steps in the article.
