  Can Hello - anyone advise, please? My laptop came with a preinstalled trial of Office 2007, which must be activated with a 25 digit code. The message on the screen says to follow the hotlnk to a Microsoft site, where advice on getting the code. However, when I get to the Microsoft site, a message tells me that the page does not exist. I also tried using a code on a sticker on the base of the laptop but it doesn't seem to be good.

  I'm running out of ideas and the number of times I can use Office 2007 is going down - any help would be appreciated!

  What brand is the PC?  Most system builders put the key on the side of the Machine.  If it's a laptop, it should be on the bottom of the laptop.

  Please note that if you use the Windows 7 product key located on the certificate of authenticity attached to your system label, this will not work, it is only for Windows 7. You need a product key Office 2010. Also using the value default key OEM SLP for Windows 7 does not work with Office 2010

  If it's a copy of volume license installed, you will need to contact your employer to find the product key and get the installation files.

  If it is preinstalled at the factory with Windows 7 Professional, then use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7.

  New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab.   I also tried to install directly from the site Web Adobe - my serial code was denied, but I only used it on my old laptop, so it is supposed to work again.

  It seems equally clear that Adobe did the download of older products as difficult as possible for past clients.  This is ridiculous. I spent hours trying to get this to work and have gotten nowhere.  Does anyone have advice for me?

  It is not known if you encounter a problem downloading or installation problem, but it looks to be an installation problem.

  What is the exact wording of the message you are trying to answer to?

  The term "product code" is often loosely used to mean several different things, so the context and the wording of the exact message are important.

  For your information...

  Usually, the number on the holographic label on the bottom of your laptop is the license key Windows of 25 characters (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx).  Do NOT publish this type of key in this forum or anywhere else online.

  Sometimes you will see a reference to a "product ID" or product code.  It is usually a number of 20 characters according to this format: xxxxx-yyy-zzzzzzz-zzzzz.  This identifies the version of Windows.  On a computer 'brand', the second group of characters is OEM, as in 55274-OEM-zzzzzzz-zzzzzzz.  In this example, the 55274 refers to a generic version of XP Pro OEM.

  Microsoft Office programs use a product code of 32 characters or a Globally Unique ID (GUID) such as
  {WXYYZZZZ-6000-11 D 9 3-8CFE-0050048383C}.

  The example you give is not a product key.  It's a product ID.  A product ID is simply the string generated by Windows when it is installed and serves a different purpose than you think.  A product ID, it is not what is used to activate Windows.  This requires a chain of 25 characters (five fields of five) that you find on the COA sticker attached to the housing of your computer (or in some newer laptops battery).
