  I have a HP dv2416us laptop which is running Windows 8 (preview?). It began as a Vista system and is not compatible with Windows 8. I've had this laptop second hand and have since discovered that there license KMS. Can I legally do a clean install of Vista (or 7) about this or have I just threw the money? I had never heard of KMS until I had this laptop and I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what to do about this. I'm a little worried about this and any help would be appreciated of course.

  You can use 16 CPU Enterprise License 'package' in different ways:

  • 2 servers with 8 CPU sockets populated = 2 * 8 = 16 CPU of the license server

  • 8 servers with 2 CPU sockets populated = 8 * 2 = 16 CPU of the license server

  Or you can do any combination of fill 16 CPU:

  • 1 server with 4-socket full CPU + 1 server with 8 sockets populated CPU + 2 servers with 2 sockets populated CPU = 484 = 16 CPU of the license server

• Windows 7 license activation

  We start using Windows 7 Professional in our view environment 4.6. Effort will be Win 7 VMs as linked clones. We use a Microsoft Volume License (MS Select without SA for now, but will move to select more). My question is how are my licenses counted on the Microsoft side whenever I have reconstruct my linked clone pool. For example, lets say I have 20 licenses of Windows 7 and I'm building a pool of cloning related to 20 mV. If I recompose the MS pool sees me trying to use another 20 licenses or original activation will stick. What is the best practice here to manage the licenses of Windows 7 and related clones.   Number of activations Cache

  To follow the activation threshold, the KMS host keeps a record of KMS client computers that require activation. The KMS host gives each KMS client computer ID (CMID) client machine designation and the KMS host records each CMID in a table. Each activation request remains in the table for 30 days. When a client renews its activation, the cached CMID is removed from the table, a new record is created, and the 30-day period begins again. If a KMS client computer does not renew its activation within 30 days, the KMS host removes the CMID of the table and reduces the number of activations.

  The KMS host is cached twice the number of CMIDs that require KMS clients in order to ensure that the CMID County does not drop below the activation threshold. For example, on a network with client computers running Windows 7, the KMS activation threshold is 25, then KMS host puts caches the CMIDs of the last 50 activations. The KMS for Windows Server 2008 R2 activation threshold is 5. A KMS host that is contacted only by client computers KMS running Windows Server 2008 R2 would be to cache the most recent CMIDs 10. If a client computer running Windows 7 later comes into contact with this KMS host, KMS increases the size of the cache to 50 to accommodate the higher threshold. KMS never reduced the size of the cache.

  KMS does not limit the number of machines that are activated, the FAQ Post indicates that you can use the same key to cover several agreements and activate these machines with the only key. You don't have to add licenses, since it does not limit in KMS.

  Just keep in mind that the OEM versions are equipped with the installation media DVD 32-bit or 64-bit (not both as a retail version) and a product key.

  I just installed the client v11.0 C5500 to my Winodws XP Server software. Everything went well (although a little slow) until the software asked to restart the server. NCE restared headquarters server window "Pleae slect operating system to start" and not prceed further. Server has been restrted several times.

  The number of window is defined when calling these VI as IMAQ WindDraw and WindShow. You can get the number of windows through the IMAQ WindLastEvent VI with an indicator on the number of window and selecting a type of event like the Click event. Then if you click inside the window, you can see that one is.

  Number of the window (0.. 15) specifies the display of the image window. You can display up to 16 windows simultaneously. Each window is identified by a number from 0 to 15. Only the specified image window is affected. all the other windows of the image remain the same. The default value is 0.

  Note If you use a LabVIEW Real-time, place this 15 control to display to the RT Video Out. You can also use IMAQ RT Video Out for display at RT Video Out.
